CODE RED Severe Thunderstorm Warning Just Issued
rednekkhikkchikk replied to AustinPlantation's topic in RECENT TOPICS
As one who was caught in this on my way home, let me say this is one warning they got exactly right - every detail of it. -
Thing is, there are billions of dollars spent on airport 'security'. I am not a proponent of unchecked welfare but before they start taking away assistance for things like food and shelter, something really needs to be done about the ridiculous amount of money spent on non-existent security and the like. And yes, in light of this and other debacles like it, the Patriot Act and domestic surveillance needs to go/end. Really.

Former House speaker indicted for lying to the FBI
rednekkhikkchikk replied to gpatt0n's topic in Paulding County NEWS
Lying to a federal officer is a crime, same as with any other law enforcement. That said, I am sure it's politically motivated, probably thanks to the blatant hypocrisy demonstrated by yet another self-righteous 'do as I say, not as I do' politician. He was a proponent of and helped push through the Patriot Act, and now he is learning the fallacy of "if you've done nothing wrong you have no need to worry..." You'd think the shameless pervs would stop criminalizing everything and get out of people's bedrooms rather than waiting to be publically outed as deviants and hypocrit -
Who Remembers Buckwheat from Our Gang?
rednekkhikkchikk replied to Foxmeister's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Didn't think it was so funny as to justify this level of controversy. Or to copy it from FB, for that matter. Bad enough that's all you see on that site anymore. They should change the name to MemeBook. The internet is basically useless as a source of reliable information or original content - now it's just a bunch of pointless and/or inaccurate junk copied from one site to another with a little sniping and insults thrown in for good measure. No telling how much money is spent on the bandwidth to provide a place to copy it to/from, either... -
Paulding County attorney faces cruelty to animal charges
rednekkhikkchikk replied to LPPT's topic in Paulding County NEWS
There is something terribly wrong with anybody who would do such a thing. -
It's correct, there's little we can do at this point to stop it, but some of us do care just the same. Arrogance and apathy will be our undoing as a species.
-
Ah they pretty much openly admit it's the lobbyists (in effect) who write the bills that will hopefully be passed and become law. It's reached the point that they don't care what any of us want, need, or think of the way they conduct business anymore. As long as we continue sniping at each other, and money determines who wins elections, that isn't going to change.

No, I saw the same or a similar article that linked back here to TBAR's tunnel story. Hilarious.

I guess the word 'stone' (as in kidney stone, which hurts like the devil) is the reason I would expect it to be painful. I guess you are fortunate yours is not seeing as how they are all not without some discomfort. Good luck.

Came to see whether it was the old man or the young one you were giving away, cause I KNOW it ain't the dogs or the cat. Pass on the books, already got the ones I wanted

Didn't know there was such a thing but it sounds painful...

Despite living too close to the airport to want commercialization, I am much less concerned about the issue itself than the way the county went about the whole thing. If they have to hide their dealings from the public, who they are elected to serve, they probably shouldn't be making the deal at all. If they had needed to meet a time or two to iron out details so be it, but they went well beyond meeting. We need transparency and accountability, not secret deals and subterfuge.

My sister said she might have a few from her kids' collection at home - she will check & let me know. If you have books you don't want anymore and would like to swap for others you could join at paperbackswap.com and post your books. When someone takes a book you've posted, you pay the postage (media mail rate, a couple bucks) to mail it, and you get a credit which allows you to get a book for 49 cents from another member - they had a number of the books posted when I did a search. Only downside you don't get any credits until someone takes a book from you, you mail it and they recei

Pretty sure including the link is considered crediting the original author. Why don't you request this of everyone posting quotes w/links or even just the links themselves with no accompanying comment/explanation? -
Some ACA/Obama Care Truths, from 1st Hand
rednekkhikkchikk replied to surepip's topic in RECENT TOPICS
And even though you seem to realize that you are the cause of much of the extra expenses due to your failure to deal with the injury when it happened or during the years after when you were presumably better able to afford medical care, and by having two separate surgical procedures instead of the single surgery you had scheduled, you still blame the ACA and/or Obama. I notice you mentioned facing a minimum bill of $50,000 before the surgeries were actually performed, and you broke down exactly how much you had to pay, but you didn't bother including the total cost of both surgeries, PT an -

Should air show have been on Moms Day weekend?
rednekkhikkchikk replied to AustinPlantation's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Sounds to me as if someone was specifically looking for evidence of poor attendance, otherwise why take photos of parked buses, etc? When I came to Dallas Saturday around 10:30 am there was a steady stream of traffic, including at least one bus bringing people from the parking over at Poole Elementary, headed into the airport. When I came back on Sunday just before 2 pm, there were numerous vehicles parked on the shoulder and in the driveways of a couple non-residential properties across the road watching. I don't know that 30,000 people attended, but I imagine if a bus was transport -
Government Can Take Your CASH Without Criminal Charges
rednekkhikkchikk replied to ITMFA's topic in RECENT TOPICS
The problem is the part of your comment in bold text. The great thing about being American is slowly being destroyed, and nobody cares until it affects them personally. At this rate, the day will come when America isn't associated with freedom at all. What do all you patriots think the founding fathers would have to say about that? -

Yeah, military exercises have never coincided with the occurrence of similar but very real tragedies that changed the basic premise upon which the country was founded before, why worry now? -

So the loss of jobs and destruction of property is a bigger issue than murder? Even if that was how I really felt (although thankfully it isn't), I'm damned if I'd be so proud of it that I'd state it in public... -
Why can't the focus be on their actions without calling them anything? Seems to me labeling others and name-calling only inflames and aggravates the situation. How often have you all seen an insult or put-down change someone's mind here? There's a reason it is called childish behavior, you know.
