The state does not own the building, presses, or paper. The Red and Black is an independent enterprise supported by advertising, and the paper is happy to tell you that on the front page of every issue, and in practically every article about this particular situation. For all the right wing moaning I read on this message board, apparently not too many people understand or care what the word "independent" means.

I know criticizing writing styles has become taboo on today's internet, but son, you're clearly too dumb to be trying to influence anyone's vote.

It reinforces the fact to the rest of the state that, in Paulding County, many important elections will continue to be won by those who can out-Conservative and out-Christian the opposition, no matter the office. One of these days there will be a race for dog-catcher and the guy who everyone knows is the best damn dog-catcher in the county, who was born with an incredible God-given dog-catching talent, will be defeated by some guy in a suit who says he will use the power of his position to outlaw aboortzion and deport illegal immigrants.

It's good to know that wherever life takes me, and whatever mistakes I may make along the way, I can always return to Paulding County, adopt an anti-aboortzion, pro-gun, "Christian" platform, and the good people of Paulding will elect me to public office.
