  1. I sent my usual amount of cards, which is probably 30 or so. I didn't cut anyone off my list and actually added to it. I always send mine out the day after Thanksgiving because I love Christmas so much. I've only received 2 cards so far at home and even my mom made her own this year on a piece of copy paper instead of buying any. I guess times are tough, but I don't see Christmas cards as being that pricy and they bring so much cheer! :D

  2. Is there an update on Charlie. He was a close friend of mine I have been really worried about him. To the family my deepest sympathy and prayers. How are David, Connie, and Adam doing?

I'm not sure if you have spoken to Charlie yet but he is home at his parent's house. He received skin grafts and is now on breathing treatments. He is understandably emotionally distraught about what happened. I haven't spoken to him yet but have been communicating with Connie, as well as with Amber's dad Cecil.

  3. Thanks for the information on the trust fund. I'll find out exactly where it is and whose name it is under, then pass the information along to our neighbors, my coworkers, and all of my friends.

Amber did go to McEachern, so the person who posted about that was correct.

The last I heard was that Charlie was in Augusta with pnemonia in one lung, He has received on skin graft as of Wednesday. I haven't spoken to Connie again but will try to call her soon to check on him.

Here is her obituary if you would like to learn more.

  4. If I am wrong about the time it took the firefighters to arrive I sincerely apologize. I asked a few of the neighbors and that is what they thought, but I do understand that in the moment time seems to fly. I am not really sure myself how long it was because my mind was on helping the family and getting ready to evacuate if I had to.

As for the information on Brayden, I was first told he was with the grandfather then told he was with the dad, so I'm not sure which (if any) is true.

We are taking up money around the neighborhood to give to the families and trying to find out Brayden's clothing size for people to donate clothes for him.

  5. I live next door to where Amber, Charlie, and Brayden lived. First of all, I wanted to inform you that some of the information reported about the fire was incorrect. The man that lives across the street from me, Will, is the hero of the night. He is the one who luckily was awake and saw the house was on fire and ran over to wake the occupants while his wife called 911. Without him, no one would have survived the fire.

Will threw rocks at the windows of the house and yelled to wake my neighbors up. They were apparently still asleep. At this point the house was engulfed in flames, so the only exit was the front bedroom windows on the second floor. Charlie dropped Brayden to Will then Charlie jumped out too. Will then yelled for Kathleen to jump out of her window and caught her so she didn’t hurt herself on the driveway.

Will then ran to all of the neighbors' houses to wake them up, including me since he saw the flames coming up the hill toward my house and thought my house would catch fire.

The fire department took a very long time to arrive, probably about 20 - 25 minutes according to the accounts from the various neighbors I have spoken to. So they WERE NOT there when the house was evacuated. Will deserves credit for being the silent hero.

As of Sunday night Charlie was still in ICU on a ventilator and with bad burns and a gash on his foot.

Brayden, the 22 month old, is with his real dad or his maternal grandfather.
