  1. A family member told me Nancy also hid valubles and a rifle in the sand in that creek to keep it out of the hands of the yankees.
  2. When and IF anything happens it could be because certain people will riot if obama is not re-elected. Or it could be from natural disaster. Whatever it is will cause unrest and "normal" people will go ballistic. Your friendly next door neighbor may knock on your door and present a gun to demand you hand over all your food so he can feed his family. Best to be prepared for any sort of calamity. Have adequate food reserves, survival items and plenty of protective items such as guns and ammo. And first aid items in case you or your family member gets injured. Good guys will HELP you and bad guys
  3. Several questions: Didn't Austin and BOC put in and get a raise shortly after Austin was electedthe first time? Do you really think the BOC will lower the mileage rate once the economy changes and goes up? Didn't Carruth raise taxes/mileage rate three times when he was chairman of the BOC? Glad we didn't approve T-SPLOST but our existing SPLOST is being used wisely. Great job on intersections, parks, etc.
  4. Thanks for the inputs. Valbuena it is. I heard Collins didn't have a law degree.
  5. I voted for Heath the first time but I am considering Curruth in the run off based on inputs on P.com. Now I need your opinion on which is a better candidate: Valbuena or Collins? Seriously. You seem to know a lot of dirt and/or good qualities on local candidates. This does in know way change my mind about who to vote for for president.
  6. Did I miss a political rally, a new movie or something exciting? Was driving through Dallas and roads were blocked with a big channel 11 sign. Was it announced earlier? I looked in the Dallas New Era and didn't see anything announced to be going on yesterday.
  7. WHAT! SHOCKED! I could have swarn I was seeing things when I read this, Voting is a privilege and not a right. Shame on you if you don't vote. Our precinct had under 600 voting out of 5,000. Pathetic since you can early vote and do an absentee ballot. REMEMBER EARLY VOTING NEXT WEEK. VOTE EARLY AND OFTEN (Chicago method).
  8. Why don't we hear about heat waves south of the equator? When we have winter they have summer. Global warming, if it is true, should affect the entire earth. But we never hear of extreme droughts or related topics. Maybe, according to that extremist environmentalist, it's only happening in the northern hemisphere and especially in the US since we are capitalist. It's a fact that China and India are exempt from UN restrictions on emitting carbon into the atmosphere. Start working on these countries to reduce global warming and then we will see a change or maybe not. Could it be a cycle? Naw, no
  9. A way to stop it is to walk up from behind or blind side of the car and take a picture with a flash camera. Then run real fast back in your house. You don't need to have film in the camera but they won't be back. You could also holler out "see you on You Tube".
  10. Since you are so liberal as to a person marrying who they want, I guess you wouldn't object to polygamy.
  11. I said it back when Deal was running for governor. He has no ethics when it comes to politics. But he has done nothing that other politicians haven't done including one now running for the senate seat. Now don't some of you wish you had voted for Karen Handel? Good-old-boy politics is what is killing Georgia. Still think they should change pledge of allegiance to end with "with liberty and justice for the rich and politically connected".
  12. Pet peeve is for people who complain here about everyone else. Don't you people realize that there are people that have no clue what is happening, where they are and even don't relly give a darn about you or anyone else. Take the stop sign runners, the grocery store aisle shoppers, the stay in the left laners, park anywhere they want drivers and not to forget the four-way stop people who are texting, on the phone are just day dreaming and not paying attention or don't have a clue. I have learned to just take a deep breath and say a little prayer for these IDIOTS!
  13. One of the recent tax changes the GOP wanted to do was to eliminate personal income taxes and start taxing services like auto repair, heat and air guys, and other services. Who is this going to hurt? The lower income people. The rich have the money to pay the service tax but low incomers need every penny they have to buy food, gas and support their families. Talk about a rich man tax this is it. Even I would demonstrate the governor's mansion on this one. Any GOP or Demo legislature that supports this should be tarred and feathered and run out of the state. Heck Pubby, we possibly have an issu
  14. Ask David why the voters aren't allowed to vote up or down on buying beer and wine on Sunday in the unincorporated areas of PC. Did the Baptist preachers get to him? It's not up to them or BOC. It's up to the voters. If it's not allowed to vote in Nov. we should pertition for a recall vote (not allowed in Ga but we could scream). I support David but he needs to make it happen. It would mean more money for PC.
  15. Vote for the candidate with the best or better integrity and that are ethical. Hard to do these days. Not being a Demo or Repub I vote for the person. Some I know vote Dem because their Garnddaddy and daddy voted Demo or they are members of a union. If the Demo party had a fiscally conservative candiddate I would vote for them. Just because a candidate is a Repub doesn't mean they are good for Paulding much less for the nation.
  16. Just as I thought. It's all the GOP's fault. And let's not forget the blame is also because, in your opinion, the AJC reporters failed to clarify taxes as you perceive it. Smoke screen? Kind of like Obama. It's someone else's fault.
  17. Agree 100%. Why would someone buy a home in the district they want to run for office while still owning a mansion in some other district? Ethical? To keep the mansion from being taken over for none payment of taxes just transfer it over to your wife. Is that ethical? Two questions some are not addressing because they have on blinders. I bet some of these same people are Obamanites.
  18. Is the BOC going to allow a vote in November on selling alcohol county wide on Sunday? As I understand it only approved for Hiram which Hiram voted in favor. Dallas should vote in favor since Kroger is in Dallas. But you know how antiquated they are in Dallas.
  19. Why not wrap it nicely and mail it to him with a noteabout what a slob he is for littering. Camera is a good idea if you can get his truck license number along with the action.
  20. In todays AJc there is an article about legislators that have tax liens. Listed on page A-11 is Bill Carruth which shows he has $327,067.04 liens against several of his businesses. A majority (200 current listed by AJC) have been paid but he continues to have new liens filed against him. And some of you say he is the chosen one to represent Paulding? Pubby slammed Gov. Deal for owing money where he had took out a loan to help his daughter and son-in-law in a business and yet he supports Carruth. And here you have Carruth having numerous liens for his business dealings. Please explain? And
  21. And some of you think it's ethical? Considering it's Hiram and all they problems they have created in it's government what else would you expect? And if the KKK wants to donate a car would you consider it OK for them to put a sign on police cars? Solution: have a sign on police cars saying "This vehicle donated by the hard working taxpayers of Hiram". Liked the police car I saw in Cartersville: "This car donated by a drug dealers". Paulding should do the same.
  22. There is a way to solve the problem. Let's just go back to dirt roads and covered wagons and start all over again. I doubt we would get it right even if we started all over. LPPT - have you ever considerd running for political office? You sure have made a case for the T-SPLOST by covering all the basis. If the BOC would kill the present SPLOST or combine both by making it a 1 cent tax the vote would be yes. People are just tired of hearing promises if "just give us your money". Sorry but it won't pass in Paulding.
  23. That's strange reason to vote for a candidate. Surely you must know what his policies are about and not just vote for him because he has the guts to run. Talk about not facing reality. I'm not voting for either Carruth or Heath but rather JK. The lesser of three evils. If Carruth did default as said here he shouldn't be running. And if Heath did lie (as all politicians) and slander Carruth he shouldn't be running. Carruth will probably win because he has the backing of big politics and big money in Paulding. Pubby it's funny how you criticized Deal for owing money but support Carruth when he o
  24. If the completed the outer loop from 85 to 75 would reduce a lot of ATL traffic. Land is cheaper now so why doesn't the state get Fed money to assist in purchasing land. Trouble was that politicians bought land where they knew it would go. What's new. And why isn't a road from 85 to 75 in the T-SPLOST. It could take an existing road with some additions and just make it a 4 lane with limited exits. I want to know who owns the land where the Dallas bypass is planned. Jonny J and Pubby had all the facts on the T-SPLOST and I'm sure they know who owns the land.
