Budget cuts in the State have caused a 39% reduction in funds for the State Parks and Historic sites of which Pickett's Mill is part. There were 5 people working there but now only 1. Friends of Civil War Paulding County, organized to save our civil war sites for current and future generations, is co-sponsoring the event. It also is a FREE day to come to the park. Come out Saturday and help paint signs, plant flowers and help clear the trails from water damage. They lost at least 3 bridges across the creeks. Refreshments will be served to workers. When my younger son was in high school he got a ticket for not stopping at a three way stop. He said there was no one there so why should he stop. He paid the ticket and lost his car for a month. I rode with him a while back and he stops for a lot longer than I do. A lot of people drive like they are the only people on the rode. No respect for other drivers.

We didn't have any fleas until recently and I think it's because the neighbor's dog has them. They said they have had them a while and were trying to get rid of them. We now have some but not bad.......yet. We sprayed the kitchen floor with liquid seven, put seven dust on the carpets and washed the dog's bed in hot water. Also gave the dog a good bath and rinsed her in water with some clorox then used Front Line Plus and put on a flea collar. I used to work at the bomber plant and really liked my last 15 years. I started hourly and got promoted to salary. Had some good and some bad bosses. Reimbursed for going to school at night. With Paulding schools starting today please be extra careful driving. Kids will be excited, well most, so they may not pay attention to the cars and trucks so we need to watch out for them I have three grands in school (elementary and middle) and don't want anything to happen to them. There was talk of a freeze that wiped out most of the coffee bean harvest and almost immediately the price of coffee went up. The BOC along with the Chamber are looking to bring more light industrial to Paulding and locate at the airport. A lot of people that complain about their property taxes going up are the same ones that voted against the airport. If we get more businesses/light industrial in Paulding our property taxes will go down. The airport has been built and now the terminal is coming. It's the same for the government complex. And another thing on "rich" sports stars. Obama wants to decide how much people make. He needs to start with all the high payed sports stars and start with the basketball players.
