  1. We don't need any more bad storms. We just got our roof replaced yesterday. Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease no more storms.

Maybe an ark is not a bad idea. When will they say Lanier has enough water? They really need to change the average rainfall for Atl area.

  2. Contact your state representative and give them the details. They should help you. My daughter had to do this to get food stamps when her husband lost his job and couldn't find work. THey gave her the run around at the food stamp office. It got to her when she saw others (Hispanics and others) getting assistance. She talked to a couple of them and she was more in need than they were but they received help. One told her she didn't have to present some of the documentation my daughter was asked to bring. Favoritism.................you bet. Can you do anything about it? Yes you can by calling your state rep. That's one thing they should do.

  3. We were awakened early Friday morning by a sheriff deputy that explained our neighborhood had a lot of car breakins. He noticed I car door was not closed tight. Sure enough they went through the glove compartment and console. Missing was about $20 bucks my wife had in mad money and a pack of cigs. The next door neighbor saw one of them right out the window inside her car and called 911. She saw another person standing at the end of her drive way. Her husband was out of town. He would have smoked the jerk. Another neighbor said the sheriff deputies chased them on foot. One was white and one was black. Both had on hoodies. We live in Saddlebrooke Farms off Old Cartersville Rd.

Does anyone know if they caught the guys?

  4. Perhaps, but that doesn't change the FACT that what has happened has already happened, and the flu is already HERE.

I didn't say I was against tightening the border, but that doesn't change the fact that the virus is ALREADY HERE.

Closing the border completely won't make the virus go away.

Again I agree. You do not catch the jest of what I was stating. The virus is already here BUT why allow MORE people come across the boarder and spread MORE of the virus. What if what's already here can be contained. Are you saying don't close the boarders and allow MORE infected people to come in? And if you look back at my post I never mentioned "illegals".

I still think we should use thermal scanners at airports, seaports and boarder crossings. That way you can detain just those people and check them out. If they don't have the virus let them in.................if they are coming in LEGALLY.

  5. Are there any events close by that will be celebrating Cinco de Mayo? The US makes more of the events than Mexico. Local Mexican eateries will be serving specials but is there a Mexican festival near by?

  6. OMG, you have absolutely no grasp of how viruses spread. It only takes one person. Mexico didn't even tell anyone 6 days until after the first case. How are is anyone going to close the border if they do not know what is going on. Seriously. By the time they told someone thousands have crossed the border, flown in, drove in, and took trains. All Obama can do is let the CDC, the WHO, the Department of Health and State governments do what they need to to stem the disease.

Ohiobound1028, do not panic, just wash your hands, carry hand sanitizer, and stay away from sick people and you will be fine. So far it is a lot of mild cases in the US with the exception of the one death in Texas but that was a Mexican citizen who had crossed the border looking for medical attention.

Frankly my dear I do understand how viruses are spread. My comment was why take a chance by letting MORE people come into the US and possibly spread the virus over MORE states and thereby putting MORE people at risk.................even you. You stated Obama will let the CDC, the WHO, the dept of health & state do what they need to stem the disease. On that I agree. But guess what? They are doing NOTHING.

Other countries don't hold people up at airports. They have thermal scanners and check people as they come off the planes. With Mexico's economic situation and more people getting the virus they will be headed to the US for a job and treatment. It's common sense and logic. Oh, sorry. Can't do that. We just have to react to whatever JC Obamaramadingdong says.

  7. In Obama's speech tonight he said he was on top of it so don't worry...............yea, right. Yesterday there were 3 states that had the "piggy" virus. Today there are 11 states. Now don't worry. When asked if he was going to authorize closing the boarder with Mexico, he made the analogy that it was like closing the barn door after the horses were out. Well smarty pants maybe if you closed the barn door no more horses will get out (or sickies in). Doesn't take a second grader to figure that out. The world health organization said to start taking drastic steps like closing boarders and public events. All Obama says is I have it under control. Sometimes I wonder who is running the asylum.

  8. It was conjured up by the World Health Org. and Obama so that he can come out and say "The only way we can control the swine flu and keep us save is to pass the health bill." Same old BS. Fear. Panic. The sky is falling. Just watch.

If it is a serious epidemic the Obama administration should be impeached for not protecting us. The boarders should be closed like other countries. But since it has not been done either he wants mass deaths so he can be a hero or it isn't real.

Like I said....................same old BS from an inept president.

  9. Is it a rumor that Paulding is in debt for 4 million and the airport is in debt 3 million? I hope not but we could always blame it on Bush. Maybe the BOC should ask for a bailout like a lot of cities are doing.

    Just curious.

  10. I went and didn't have to buy batteries to get the flash light. Hubby and I each got flashlights and bags and no purchase was required. They also told me when we got the bags that it was 20% off anything you could fit into it except sale items. The hat was in the sale paper for $4.99, meaning it was on sale and not included in the 20% off. The wait was long, but isn't unexpected at a grand opening where they are giving things away for free. The convenience factor of having them around the corner make up for the fact that they may be a little higher than Home Depot or Walmart. I have gotten several things there since they opened and have found the prices were very comparable to bigger stores.

I thought they did a great job handling the crowds they had and I wish them a successful and profitable business.

And your husband , uncle, brother, dad, or son works there? There prices are not comparable to HD or Lowes. I checked on items I needed and found when I went to HD because I had to go in that direction the prices were cheaper. Other wise if you need a single item it would save you from having to travel to HD. The hat was in the promotion flier and did not state "ON SALE". I wish them luck and hope they are succesful because we need more stores in New Hope. Can't wait until we get the new Burger King.

  11. We went to the grand opening at the new hardware store in New Hop and there was a crowd at 8 AM. Took almost 30 minutes to check out. Gave you free flashlight but you had to buy batteries to get the free flashlight. Ad said 20% off every thing you could put in cloth bag. I had a straw hat in it but they wouldn't give me the discount. Said it didn't apply to sale items. Ad didn't state that nor did sign at hat stand didn't say on sale. Their sale items state 'Hot deal' only not 'On Sale'. Better go now for 8 AM opening for work gloves. Be aware of other store prices becore going wild on purchases. Upside down planter on sale is $9.98 and they ran out. Home Depot has it for $9.99.

  12. How can I get a job doing the census in Paulding County? They started taking applications about this time in the 2000 census. You had to take a test to qualify.

    Anyone know?

  13. I have a pool. We went thhrough Brown's Pools and were/are very happy with them. I feel like we get better service from a small, local company. And yes, they do offer financing. My favorite thing that I love, love, love is the sand/salt filter. No clorine smell, nice soft water, doesn't wear out suits, damage hair etc, and the maintenance is so cheap and easy. If we keep the pool free of debris, we hardly ever have to add anything to it - no fuss, no muss.

We also purchased steps instead of a ladder. It's so much easier to get in and out, and it gives the little ones someplace to play while they learn to swim - you don't have to carry them around the whole time.

My one regret is that the pool is colder than I like it because our lot is so shady and wooded.

LPPT - I owuld be interestd in knowing about your solar panels - where you go them and how much they cost

We went with Brown's Pools and got the salt system. Really pleased. Once you balance the water it cost little to maintain. Our backyard slopes so we have like part in ground and part above ground. Had to cut down slope. Put deck with rock wall on high side, 8 foot deck on side and 8 foot deck then added 12 X 12 pergola on low side. Make sure you have plenty of deck/apron space for entertaining. We used Wee Fix It Service - commerce member - to build the pergola. Go with salt system. We live by pool in summer with grill, bar and lots of chairs and lounges. PM if you want pictures.

  14. Can't decide whether to go to the Bahamas or Hawaii. Or might just buy that Harley I've always wanted. Ok, I'll face reality and throw away the brochures. Had to pay. But I look on the bright side. I'm contributing to some worthless you know what crack head that doesn't work. If it makes them happy in dream land then I'be done something worth while.

And I support anyone getting welfare, food stamps and unemployment should have to take a drug test. You'd have to do it if you ACTUALLY had a real job.

  15. I hate when I get someone who drives 10 below the speed limit in front of me.... after they already cut me off.

Or better yet I hate it when someone sees you coming and then pulls out in front of you and doesn't even go the speed limit. Old Catersville Rd is bad about people in the subdivisions pulling out and don't realize or care you are doing 45 and just pull out and make no attempt to speed up to 45. I just lay on the horn and weave like I might hit them. IDIOTS!
