There is an old brick building in downtown Dallas that is on the corner of Main Street and W. Foster Ave. it's right next to the train tracks. It makes a great backdrop for pictures. Of course you can avoid having the deer heads in your shot if you prefer. Also, if you go south along the tracks a bit, it's lined with trees on either side. I bet it would be pretty this time of year. I've always wanted to go take photos here but just haven't had the chance to get out there yet. It has a Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/OldBrickBuildingDowntownDallas

What a POS! There's no excuse for harming a child. Way to go on being a bonified coward. Unfortunately he probably hasn't had the proper role model to teach him how to act like a man.

Yes I too wish more people were talking about this and the heroic actions of this teacher. For as much as this is a bad news story, there is some good that needs to be noticed as well. And I also hope that people are not becoming desensitized to school shootings as well. Too often people think these things couldn't possibly happen to them. Wow, I did not know that! That's a shame.

GOD BLESS THIS MAN!! We need more people like him in this world. My life would be indebted to his family if my child was the one that he saved. Prayers for his family. SPARKS, Nev. (AP) - Students at a Nevada middle school were filing off buses and reuniting with friends on the playground after a weeklong vacation when the pop of gunfire shattered the morning calm. Children fled the campus for their lives before the first bell rang. Police said a Sparks Middle School student was the lone shooter who injured two classmates, killed himself and took the life of an 8th-grade math

Devil's advocate here. According to authorities, you don't have a picture or video, it didn't happen. Your effort is kinda moot. Also how can you prove that he was actually aware it happened. Nonetheless, it's a stinky situation. (ha ha, see what did there. Get it, stinky......Yeah ok, I'm leaving now)

Yes, we received a letter from our health insurance company, BCBS, earlier this year telling us our plan was going away due to the fact it did not meet Obamacare. Our plan actually ended on Oct. 1st. They said they would send us some information to purchase a temporary plan that would last until the end of the year, and we didn't get anything in the mail until the end of September. But by that point we had decided not to even worry about it and we will just buy a new plan that would start on Jan. 1st. So, yes, right now we are without health insurance. But here's the kicker, we will -

Now wouldn't that be cool if those were available for everyone by the year 2015. Then the movie 'Back to the Future' would actually be true!!!

Merciers is located in Blue Ridge, if you keep going past Ellijay it is down a road just off 515. It's one of the most popular apple orchards up there and it's mad crazy crowded this time of year. They have a huge orchard where you can pick your own apples as well. You can see them bagging up the apples there, so I'm pretty sure they are grown there. I just love their fried pies, fudge, cider, and flavored butters. Oh and I always get an apple slushy when I go!

We were planning on going to Pettit Creek Farms in Cartersville next week. I've never been, just heard about it not long ago. It has a corn maze, petting zoo, hay ride, and moonwalks. Hope the kids enjoy it.
