Pcom News interview with former Chairman Jerry Shearin
gpatt0n replied to gpatt0n's topic in Paulding County NEWS
Yes freebird, we talked about that briefly in an earlier session, the recording of which was lost. (We're still figuring the realities regarding the Ustream product._). What he said is that he felt there was a deal with all the members on the commission and they decided to do different priorities first on that basis. The 'deal' ... gentlemen's agreement lets say ... fell through and Jerry said he regretted not doing some of these things earlier in the year and that was one of the specifics. He did decline to say who supposedly reneged. pubby -
Dang... I know it is a full moon ... but just dang. Why be so catty and dismissive toward each other. ... dang. Civility is not that hard. pubby PS: SM ... I didn't know that you had won second place nationally in a photo contest. You don't have any idea of how many things slip. We're a small business struggling to make ends meet and grow and that means that we mess up. No excuses, just note that it is after midnight now and I've got a couple of more hours ... and I'll be back at it tomorrow for another 14-16 hour day for a rate of pay that probably works out to less

Tabby: I'm no more frightened of someone getting away with promoting their business without the proper licenses and permissions than is a retailer being worried about someone shoplifting good with a value of up to $499.00 (the cutoff point for a misdemeanor). S-M: I'm kind of sad about this SM. I wasn't eager to do this but after the conflict of the other evening and the one of this evening it just was obvious that the rule was unclear. Said differently, both the mods and I were having to spend way too much time trying to decide what to do in what was very murky water. T

Announcement of a clarification of the rules regarding the posting of photography on Paulding.com It is obvious from the drama over the past week that the rules regarding the posting and commenting on photography are unclear and uncertain. This new rule will clarify the situation in black and white. First, Paulding.com is a business. It obtains compensation for advertising and from the sale of specific classes of membership that allow specific membership levels license to advertise their services on the site. As our goal is to avoid formal court action including the filing o

I would imagine he had it unplugged but forgot (and I suspect) there was a capacitors in the unit that still hold quite a jolt. I guess I just can't imagine anyone working on a microwave oven with the plug in the socket. pubby -
I contacted the press office for the SO (Deputy Brandon Gurley) and he noted that the officer, although injured, was going to be okay. Indeed, while he was taken to an Atlanta area hospital by helicopter, he is expected to be released tomorrow. The accident did involve a second vehicle and remains under investigation by the Georgia State Patrol. (The accident was at or near the intersection of Mt. Tabor Road and GA92 Hiram-Acworth Road. That's about all I could get from the SO. pubby

We were commenting on that (Laurie and I) about how silent the pcommers were. We knew there were at least 20 if not 100 or more that were involved as free extras and I knew of at least a handful that were, like you, paid for your presence. Wish you had stood out though ... we were looking for someone to interview live on the set and everyone seemed to hide ... even Oscar, Southern Scarlett and Ihave2dogs ... were no where to be found when we needed an interview. (I did get one.) pubby -

I just got a call from Cid Swank, publicist for the movie Get Low and the producer, noting that weather on Wednesday is expected to be nice ... and Sunday ... not nice with even a chance of snow ... has postponed the shooting schedule for the BIG PARTY until Wednesday. The original plan, disrupted by the weather, called for the production company to shoot the big scene where literally a thousand or more extras are sought on Sunday. With snow possible Saturday night and quite cold weather also expected Sunday, the producers have changed their shooting schedule and will not be asking t

We had a few comments about the video being truncated but apparently that was an early streaming glitch that is now resolved. I did want to provide a link to the Get Low extra's site for those contemplating taking up the producer on his invitation. Click here. pubby -

Ooops... and I'm fixing it as I speak. When I went to render the show, I didn't adjust the 'end marker' to cover the entire show. It ends right now just after the Get Low interview. I'm going to leave it up and will have the program fully rendered and ready to go in less than an hour. You'll just have to come back to view the reports on the commission and the flag ceremony at New Hope Cemetery. pubby -

LPPT: Here's the line from the site where they mention furs: The good news is that many basic articles of clothing worn then can still be found today: jeans, overalls, denim jackets, furs, dark men’s suits of conservative cut. As far as the hat LPPT ... there were some pretty weird hats back then and since. I think you'd look fine with the hat and the worst they'd do is say, lose it. Oh, and as far as the 'pre-approval' ... the deal is that most of those who have been pre-approved as extras are the 'core' extras that are being paid to attend. The rest of us (includin
