About Me
The purpose of the Community Chest (CC) is to prevent fraud and protect advocates from reprisals.
The CC makes every effort to assure all causes are legitimate and all donated funds are received by the intended recipient.
People requesting help are required to check with community resources (listed below) before requesting assistance from pcommers.
Requests are limited based on need and are a one-time effort only, per individual. It is not designed to provide continuous assistance.
Anything involving legal issues will receive an automatic denial.
People wishing to remain anonymous or who have a need which requires a lot of work are suggested to find an advocate. Advocates MUST be approved by the CC.
Most cases do not require an advocate. We encourage pcommers to work directly with the requester and both parties must report updates to the CC.
All information presented to the CC is confidential.
Accountability for fund raising has become an important issue with the growth of paulding.com. If you are collecting funds for any charity, non-profit, church, 501c3 organization, etc, you must get approval from the entity before advocating for them.
The CC requires the entity to contact us with their approval for you to raise funds. This should be presented to and approved by the CC before it is put on the board.
THE CC HAS ZERO FUNDS AVAILABLE AT ALL TIMES.
Approval of your request by the CC means you have been approved to put the request on the board. Success or failure of your charitable need is based on the kindness and willingness of others to give. The CC is not responsible for the success or failure of the fundraiser.
(If you are not a resident of Paulding County, call 211 or look http://www.taxexemptworld.com/organization...ia-counties.asp for a list of nonprofit organizations in your area that may be able to assist you.)
