  1. What some people construe as background checks are in fact not background checks. There are these pesky little things called public records- you know, things like civil action records, criminal records, records as to payment of property taxes, federal and state tax liens, deed records, etc. No background check,no fees, and not too much in the way is skill required to look up the information. . Hope that was helpful!
  2. I can assure you that Tabitha is not going to do anything illegal or unethical. If David Austin had told her to do something illegal or unethical (and I'm sure he didn't), she would have simply refused. She is "by the book" and that is a good thing to be in her job. The fact of the matter is that this is a Contract we are dealing with and regardless of the budget, this contractual obligation has to be paid. There is no doubt in my mind that David Austin used nothing but good judgment as to when this contractual obligation was paid. Now, I simply don't have the time nor the interes
  3. I'm quite sure this is proper protocol or David Austin would not have requested it and Tabitha Pollard would not have cut the check. Both David and Tabitha are very good at their jobs and they know what they are doing. Regardless of any other issues, the money has to be paid whether it is now or in January. It is a contractual obligation that must be met by Paulding County pursuant to the Intergovernmental Agreement between Paulding County and The Airport Authority in 2014. It is a legal, binding contract. I don't frankly care if it is paid early or on the exact due date as long as i
  4. Congratulations - she is beautiful! What a beautiful Christmas you all will have enjoying this bundle of joy!
  5. So sorry about your parents DallasRED. I am beginning to hate that C word - it just seems like more and more people are getting cancer these days and that we have not made a tremendous amount of progress in fighting cancer.
  6. You are rude and crude. Although I didn't agree with all of former President Carter's politics, I truly believe he is a wonderful man and I am happy he is cancer free. A couple of friends of mine visited his Sunday School class this morning and he announced this. He has added so much in a positive manner to our society and regardless of how you stand politically, I believe he is to be commended for his work. I hope that he will be healthy and live for many more years!
  7. It was great to see you Lowrider! It was a GREAT parade with probably a record attendance! The crowd was lively and enthusiastic and the parade participants were definitely in the Christmas spirit. Year after year I so love seeing the looks of happiness and joy on the faces of the children. Love to see these sweet children (and adults) having a great time!
  8. A Christmas Parade! Please join us for the 23rd Annual Invitational Christmas Parade in beautiful downtown Dallas, Georgia tomorrow, Saturday, December 5, 2015. The parade will begin at 1:00 p.m. and is brought to you by The Rotary Club of Paulding County. The theme for this year is "Be a Gift to the World." The Grand Marshalls will be Public Safety Personnel and we will be recognizing our Fallen Heroes. We have lots of wonderful organizations participating so bring the family out for a day of fun. Love, love, love seeing the kids and adults alike enjoying this parade year after year
  9. Whitey - this is NOT an email from the Paulding Chamber of Commerce. I have VERIFIED this is not the email that sent out from the Paulding Chamber of Commerce. Whitey, I want to be clear - this is not an email from the Chamber. Please share with us who sent this email. Or is this is a "closed door", "secret" email that you don't want to disclose the name of the sender? Isn't that what you and your group have condemned others for? Your group continues to call for the "healing to begin"; however, it is evident to me that you really don't want the "healing to begin" when you post t
  10. I love this shopping complex if this is the same one I am thinking of. My husband helped build the Southeastern Regional Cancer Treatment Center of America facility in Newnan a few years ago and there was a shopping area down the street similar to the Avenues at West Cobb. I remember them having some neat stores and good restaurants. I really like the Avenues at Peachtree City also. You guys have some good shopping areas and restaurants there.
  11. I'm really not sure as to your reasoning for calling him a "moron". He is being polite to you and appears to be just trying to understand what you are saying. I mean in the second sentence above you say "you have no clue what I am for and what I am against" and then in the very next sentence you say "even when I write it down for you, you still don't get it." Which is it?
  12. Update: I have spoken to Tony Crowe and he told me he will not be running for Commission Chairman in 2016. He said the only way he would consider it is if nobody else was running. I have left a voice mail message on Todd Pownall's cell phone in addition to emailing him my direct question.. Still waiting on a return phone call or return email. Nothing thus far...................................................................
  13. I've sent them both emails and will be glad to post the information when I hear back from them.
  14. Obviously it is a little different as since the ad ran in the Dallas New Era a few weeks ago, he resigned his Post Commission seat to run for Commission Chairman. Thankfully, we have people like Dave Carmichael that honorably chose this method as to avoid having our taxpayers bear the brunt of the expense of a special election.
  15. I agree about the made up stuff and half truths. I can just not comprehend why Whitey would post something such as this that "he heard". Hey Whitey - I "heard" the world was coming to an end a few months ago. Guess that wasn't true, huh?
  16. Are you kidding me Whitey? How lowdown is that for you to try and put that in the minds of our citizens. Let me set the record straight for you Whitey. I have spoken to Dave Carmichael today. He does not have any major health issues and he WILL be running for Commission Chairman. I would find it hard to believe that anyone (Dave Carmichael) who actively participates in such strenuous activities such as racquetball tournaments, 5K races, etc., has any major health issues. So whoever is rumor is WRONG. Here is Dave Carmichael's bio information for your reading pleasure. I woul
  17. I can't believe I missed you stradial. I know I have met you on at least one occasion but that was some time ago. Unfortunately,I am not recognizing faces like I used to. That 50 something stuff setting in I guess...........
  18. Not true Whitey. I can tell you exactly where I was standing and exactly where you were standing in the room when we had this conversation. This was last Wednesday at the called Board of Commissioners meeting at 3:30 p.m.. I was standing in front of my chair on the back row and you were passing by about to go out the side door. This is the conversation: I said "well, 1 out of 4 isn't that great Mr. Coggins" (speaking of the Hiram Elections). You said to me "we didn't openly support any of the other candidates with the exception of Teresa Philyaw, which we did support her." As to Da
  19. Oh the double standards. You told me to my face the other day at the BOC meeting Whitey that you supported Teresa Philyaw for Mayor of Hiram in the recent election. Guess what? Teresa Philyaw QUIT her job on Hiram City Council to be able to run for Mayor, thus leaving an 2 year UNEXPIRED term. Just thought I would "jog your memory" on that Whitey. You're welcome.
  20. We are having homemade enchiladas with both red sauce and salsa verde and "street tacos" with skirt steak, carne asada seasoning and smoky chipotle sauce. I miss living in Texas sometimes - loved their version of tacos! I especially miss the breakfast tacos in the café in my office building in Houston. I have tried to make them myself but they just don't taste the same.
  21. I"m with you - southern born, raised and bred but, I still call it dinner. And for dinner tonight, we had a "gourmet dinner" of sloppy joes and sweet potato fries. Easy dinner day!
