To the person in line behind me at the self checkout...
arsenas replied to Janell's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Nitro, I'm way confused... I didn't bash anyone. My quote, which was Georgia Code, was in response to "So if someone drops a $10.00 in the floor in the store and someone finds it and picks it up they can be charged for it?! This is not right. I dont believe theres a person on here that can say they've never found money lying somewhere and happily picked it up!" There was no reasonable meaures to restore mentioned there. -

Pick it up and do what with it, keep it? "A person commits the offense of theft of lost or mislaid property when he comes into control of property that he knows or learns to have been lost or mislaid and appropriates the property to his own use without first taking reasonable measures to restore the property to the owner." -

It's stealing and its chargeable, standard case of Theft of Lost or Mislaid Property (or they can go generic Theft By Taking), I see it all the time. Hopefully the find out from the camera who it was and that they paid via credit card or used their Kroger card so they can get a name. -
The smoke was heavy when I passed down 92 near Rosedale at 5:15 this morning, I didn't see any fire though... was surprised when I got the nixle alert later that it was a structure fire.

What area was it $3.01 last week?! And what area is it $3.25 today... same? $3.19 is the lowest I saw late last week (Hiram and Marietta both), and $3.12 was the lowest I saw this morning (Hiram and Marietta both). Just wondering

Supreme Court upholds key part of Arizona immigration law
arsenas replied to Georgia Dawg's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Okay, I'll clarify for you... the 287(g) program is a federal program (federal matter, as you put it) under Dept of Homeland Security stemming from the Immigration and Nationality Act granting authority to local law enforcement to enforce federal laws. It's not a state program (state matter, as you put it). The program was suspended in Arizona today around 2pm after the ruling... by DHS (i.e. Obama administration), not the Supreme Court. -

Not true. Some local law enforcement agencies in Arizona have the 287(g) program and they were operating until around 2pm today when Obama suspended their authority. This was after that part of the Arizona law that WAS allowed which gave authority to law enforcement officers to question immigration status. In turn, it was stated you can go ahead and ascertain their status; if they are here illegally you are now going to have to call an ICE agent to come and get them (as opposed to taking them to your own jail, serving them deportation documents, and then transferring them to ICE custody), b -
luvdale, I didn't take it as anyone being rude (unless other posts were edited/deleted that I haven't seen). Speeding is not normally an arrestable offense and the bond for a speeding ticket is $300 (plus taxes) if arrested in conjunction with an arrestable offense (no license, suspended license, etc). I can see why you were questioned why the bond was so high, it was that he was arrested for another reason being the reason assumed...

I think you'd have a better shot of recommending certain members get their own sub-forums instead... so they can have their "fun" and we don't have to scroll past it in the cafe like they know we are gonna

Sorry if I missed it posted already, just wanted to mention that Georgia has a law against killing or capturing non-venomous snakes, so be cautious of what you post publically after handling "yo' bidness" haha... I didn't know about it until recently, although I guess if you're "Standing Your Ground"... etc, etc Pics of Georgia snakes (The venomous snakes in GA are at the link at the bottom of that page)

Where do they have KARAOKE or OPEN MIC in Paulding County?
arsenas replied to Perry Mason's topic in RECENT TOPICS
What nights do they have it there? I used to go there when Thomas/Swing Shift was running it when it was Birdies, I didn't know the new place is doing it now. -
No worries Kim - I knew you were kidding, I wouldn't have been joking otherwise!

Haha, fixed!

As a taxpayer - there is two things I want from this man (I don't consider a high school senior to be a "kid", sorry) and then I will happily move along. 1.) an apology for wasting my money, which I have yet to see in anything related with him, and 2.) admittance that he was in wrong in not assuming a leadership role and coming forward once he saw things get out of control (when he supposedly decided to leave), which I have yet to see in anything related with him. I don't see it as the school board "punishing" him with anything they added by not letting him walk because he appealed, -
And this article trumps everything in that article that you posted about the "girlfriend"... Link I love how there is so much out there that contradicts what everyone "thinks" they know happened for sure to the point they are dead set on their opinions (arguing either side).

There was plenty of dispute in that long thread on here (along with nationwide) stemming from the (grainy) video of Zimmerman getting out of the police car (at the police station if I remember correctly). Most argued that he had NO injuries based what they were seeing... however, once the video was enhanced (later on), it was clear he had injuries.

Supreme Court Rules in favor of Strip Search for Minor Offense
arsenas replied to zoocrew's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I don't know one could fear for their own safety without experts telling them they needed to... did I miss a link somewhere? I'm pretty sure majority still reading this thread want to know why "This ruling, along with Citizens United and the Hein Decision, will go down as some of the worst of the early 21st century." The answer isn't in the original link. -

It doesn't matter Nice Green, they are "experts" and they said it. Experts say this ruling, along with Citizens United and the Hein Decision, will go down as some of the worst of the early 21st century. Oh wait - that's not in the article, so no they didn't... former member did. But she won't tell Mr. Dis why SHE thinks that. That pretty much sums up this thread in one post. My head hurts. -

C'mon Mr. Dis, you should have known her standpoint on this just from reading the initial post to start this thread... oh wait... neither did I. And back to ignoring her vague rhetoric I go. -

I've been working jail-Intake for majority of the last five years (not Paulding), I can give you perfect example of what we encountered a few weeks ago. A female comes in a drug charge (might have even been misdemeanor less than an ounce for all I remember), she gets stripped searched upon entry because she fit the current criteria, and... they find a gun stashed in her vagina. It freaked us all in in terms that if she did not fit the "criteria" of being strip-searched (if she hadn't been arrested for drugs) - just how far into the jail that gun would have made it, who's hands it could have
