Got a call from the publisher of the East Cobber ... a monthly print zine and she was asking me about how to start something like pcom there.
but there really hasn't been anything approaching the success of pcom.
I would say that I've thought about doing something in Cobb myself ...
pubby
Thanks Pubby. You and your staff do a great job. My friends in Cobb are jealous...

I know there is nothing like Paulding.com, but is there anything like this website in Cobb? I've done a few searches, but maybe I'm missing something.
Thanks!

I love this song...
I sing really loud at my wife when TOAD says
"I hate how my wife is always up my ass
She always wants to buy brand new things
But I don't have the cash."
I'll digress about the headache part...this is a family forum, correct?

I'm thinking of playing in the Mens Atlanta Baseball League (midweek, Cobb Co., wood bat, http://atlantamsbl.sharepointspace.com/default.aspx) again this summer, and was wondering if anyone would be willing to play catcher as I loosen out the old arm.
I could also pitch BP for anyone looking to get a few swings in.
Most of my teammates from last year live east of Cobb, and I'd prefer to find a baseball fan in Paulding (Hiram).
Thanks all.

Good stuff, thanks all. Haven't decided what I'll do yet, but it looks like there are a ton of options. Thanks for your insights!

You might want to look at the numbers.
One death is too many, but I stand by my statement.
I'm aware of the numbers. I've carried one too many flag covered caskets and been to one too many funerals. I've seen what I've seen, and I can say with 100% certainty that the USAF and Navy doesn't get their due in Iraq and Afghanistan.

How about MASK (Mobile Armored Strike Kommand)...http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M.A.S.K....I still have all of these toys back home somewhere.

Hey all,
I was just laid off last week, and I'm looking for volunteer opportunities to help fill this hole in the resume while trying to find new employment. I'm a full time student also, so it isn't like my days are completely empty, but I need something to stay active. I'm a veteran, have skills in graphic design, and I love sports.
Any suggestions?
Thanks!

Nothing to worry about, he's joining the right branches to stay out of harm's way.
Not in this century. Air Force and Navy are doing more than ever to support ground operations. They are just as much in harms way as any other branch now. My USAF brother had a RPG pass a few inches in front of the Humvee he was in, had an IED improperly detonate below his ride, and was shot at by Taliban fighters in Afghanistan last year. Now he's supporting ground operations in Iraq and will be until 2010.
When I was in the USAF, we lost quite a few airman to IED and attacks by insurgents.
Times have changed. There is no safe place in the military, but if anyone is signing up for a "safe spot", they'll be in for a rude awakening.

Yeah, USAF. Even though I'm considering Navy for commissioning...

RIP Spc King.
If there is a procession in Paulding, I will be there.

Love tile. I would want it nearly everywhere in the house.

Just realized that the Braves are picking #7, that would be pretty cool for the Wheeler family.

Hey y'all,
I'm a baseball nut, and was checking out Stephen Strasburg, the supposed first draft pick this June, when I saw that EPHS has a player that is being predicted on a site (http://www.withthefirstpick.net/) to go 7th overall. I saw a video, and it looks like he has great arm action, with some room to grow into his frame to maybe even add some heat on the fastball.
Have you seen him play? What do you think?

My DH went back Active Duty but he volunteered.
IRR 4 years of hoping they don't call you back in
I hope I get called back. I can't believe I can't even get a recruiter to call me back! Got honorable discharge, made Staff Sgt (selected, didn't pin on) in less than 4 years, and have high 90s on ASVAB.
Wanting, willing, and I miss the military GREATLY.

Can hear tons of sirens here by Lake Ramona (Nebo/Waters).

There has been talk on this for a couple of years....an "outer perimeter". It would eventually connect I-75 around Acworth to I-20 near Villa Rica and would run through Paulding near the airport.
So the congestion from Hiram/Dallas going to Marietta and Smyrna/NW Atlanta won't change at all?
Then I don't care.

Great to hear the successes today. We love our little border collie (got her Dec 21) from the HS.

Wife has broken a finger and foot at Jump 4 Joeys. Not their fault, but I've ruthlessly banned her from going there with our 4 year old, who somehow always comes out unscathed.
How did my post end up here? WEIRD!

We've had terrible service there as well...leftover food on cups/plates, long waits to be served, and even billed incorrectly. I don't know what is wrong with them, but I gave them a few fair tries, and we're not going back.
We've had phenomenal service recently at the Hiram Coffee Shop and at Jim & Nicks. Never had a problem there even once.

Thats amazing. So glad you got her back!

If you hear what sounds like Paulding on the news, you might want to check the internet to make sure they said "Paulding" and not "Spalding". This would be one such case...http://www.myfoxatlanta.com/myfox/pages/Home/Detail;jsessionid=B2725A36E66D82447E35458CF5F7455F?contentId=5580504&version=1&locale=EN-US&layoutCode=TSTY&pageId=1.1.1&sflg=1
We adopted a sable border collie pup from the Paulding County Animal Shelter on December 21, and while she's had a terrible case of roundworms, she is the sweetest and most loving dog I have ever met. Little Venus is a part of our family now, and I wouldn't trade her for the world.

Voted Democrat. Martin wasn't the best choice for a Democratic candidate in GA, that is for sure, but he did better that many of us thought.
Not getting 60 Senate seats isn't the end of the world. Now we all just got to get along!
Martin needs a better haircut. He looks like a...
Voting at Panter took freakin forever.
Route funeral for Spc. Ryan King will take leaving Paulding
in May they rest in Peace

Thanks for posting this Pubby. I will be unable to attend tomorrow, but I was honored to be with a large group of people by Regions Bank on Saturday. As sad as this experience is for all involved, we're also very proud of Ryan and the support the community has showed.
