Many do not recycle based on principle - why should we have to pay to recycle? (you either pay your service or pay the fuel to take it to a drop off location) While I understand that the waste disposal companies have to pay to dispose of the waste that will be recycled, does it cost more per ton than if it was going in a landfill?

While this call underlines the safety aspect of owning a pool I think it is also important to be trained in basic first aid and adult/child/infant CPR. While the dispatcher is trained to assist someone "get started" that does take time and the dispatcher does not know if the person is being effective and following instructions properly. Who knows if another minute or so might have made a difference for this boy. My guess is he had an anoxic brain injury and was pulled off of the life support.

yes, $350+/hr is outrageous. It would be different if this was a "loser pays all" and each attorney needed to carefully direct their client - nonsense like this would be cut out. wouldn't that be like surepip coming to each of us for $25/head?

the bus barn is normally closed by 5:30 or so - don't know who you would call at that late hour a mechanic will be there to help when the driver realizes the problem

Help me figure this math - $30,000 to file paperwork and pay the attorny to show up in court? At $300/hour that is 100 hours. Just doesn't seem possible that your lawyers would have to put that many hours further into this.

We don't really know the facts in this case, but should there be some form of negligence assigned to someone that does not protect such a hazard from a child? What about a child wondering too close to a viscous dog? Protecting a pool seems like a good county ordinance or very high home owner's rates for someone that decides to not protect the property from unwanted guests.

I just looked a short while ago and did not see any updates. Remember, we are in Paulding so we only make the news when there is death or mayhem.

I would use an insecticide that contains pyrethrin as well as a growth inhibitor such as precor. Put the pets in doors. Mix in a hand held sprayer and hit the area. Let dry and then let the pets back out.

Being without O2 can be a whole different animal - this call was pretty sad to listen to - the rescue was there very quickly and the dispatcher were giving instructions to start CPR. I did not have a good feeling on the call, but at least there was enough hope to send the boy to the hospital.
