It's a county road, so the county repaired it; KATCOL is correct - it only allows the DOT to do maintenance, etc. if we owned the road then yes, we would have paid to have it repaired. (And then it would not be open to public use.) The land was given over to the county long, long ago when they wanted to put a bridge in to provide access to the other side of the creek. The county put the bridge in then (1960's) and it became their responsibility to do upkeep from that point forward. Thanks, JSC - Yes, it is private property. There are signs posted and even if you try to fish from the road (and not get killed) it is private property. Lake Ramona opened to the public on July 4, 1968 after four years of construction. Built by William Abner "Bill" Waters and his family, over 100,000 board-feet of lumber was removed to clear the land needed for the lake. Lake Ramona sits off of Waters Road in Hiram. A couple of weeks ago the wooden, hand-made sign disappeared from its holder. Someone purposefully stole this sign. This was a recreation of the original one (THAT WAS STOLEN SEVERAL YEARS AGO AS WELL), but it was a hand-made labor of love by one of my family members.
