  1. And not only that, the STATE paid for the repair of the road because it was through GEMA and FEMA due to the flood waters. They were repairing what was already there. The county oversaw these repairs. FootballBeerChic - I'm sending you a private message!
  2. It's a county road, so the county repaired it; KATCOL is correct - it only allows the DOT to do maintenance, etc. if we owned the road then yes, we would have paid to have it repaired. (And then it would not be open to public use.) The land was given over to the county long, long ago when they wanted to put a bridge in to provide access to the other side of the creek. The county put the bridge in then (1960's) and it became their responsibility to do upkeep from that point forward. The lake is not owned by the county and it is on record with the property deeds (you can go look it up if you

  4. Thanks, JSC - Yes, it is private property. There are signs posted and even if you try to fish from the road (and not get killed) it is private property. But we have an event scheduled for June 26th - and possibly another one for September. (date to be determined.) Lake Ramona has GREAT FISH to catch! Thank you! aw02.bmp
  5. We're having a Family & Friends Fishin' Day on June 26th! (As in bring your family & friends!) No boat fishing that day, but plenty of space to fish from the bank or one of our two docks. For more info friend us on Facebook (search for our email address) or email us at LakeRamona30141@gmail.com We are taking RSVP's because we are limiting it to the first 100 people who sign up. Check the community calendar on Paulding.com for more info. Thanks!
  6. Thanks for the support! Yes, we are meeting on Tuesday to plan out some fishing days for the public. I'll try to post them on Paulding.com once I get the details! If you want to friend us on Facebook, I post things there too - search for us by email at LakeRamona30141@gmail.com My cousin is working on a new one I believe. I have a suspicion who the culprit is, but again, I can't do anything without some kind of proof.
  7. Off Nebo. Between Ridge & Nebo in Hiram.
  8. Lake Ramona opened to the public on July 4, 1968 after four years of construction. Built by William Abner "Bill" Waters and his family, over 100,000 board-feet of lumber was removed to clear the land needed for the lake. It was a pay lake until the mid 1990's when Maggie Waters (Bill's wife) had a stroke and the family closed the store and the lake to the public. Because of the numerous occurrences of trespasing, vandalism and theft, the lake is not open to the public at this time, nor is the property open for people to wander upon. We've had to prosecute several people for trespassing. (I
  9. Yep. PS - Love your profile pic. "I caught you a delicious bass."
  10. Lake Ramona sits off of Waters Road in Hiram. A couple of weeks ago the wooden, hand-made sign disappeared from its holder. Someone purposefully stole this sign. This was a recreation of the original one (THAT WAS STOLEN SEVERAL YEARS AGO AS WELL), but it was a hand-made labor of love by one of my family members. If you have information about this theft PLEASE EMAIL ME. It is because of theft and vandalism such as this that the lake is not open to just anyone to fish or wander about as they please. It is private property. If you have information about the thieves and just want to be a good cit
  11. Hi - I noticed you posted a LONG time ago, wanting to know the history of the area? I wasn't able to respond to that thread for some reason, but saw you on this one and thought I'd write in. What exactly did you want to know? I believe your post was from 2008! Thanks -
