1. WTF do we care about the Ukraine? You guys bitched about getting involved in Libya and now bitch about not getting involved in Ukraine. Make up your damn minds. mrnn
 2.

I'm not defending the EIC, just stating the rationale behind it. They give it only to the lowest earners because they are the ones most likely to spend the money rather than put it into a savings or investment account. mrnn

What's next, you're going to tell me that we breathe oxygen? I mean, no sheeze, ms. howard....I know how it works. Just like my tax money goes toward wars I don't agree with, subsidizing corporations that don't need subsidizing, and paying for health and food for underpaid workers o
 3.

"Your" party created the EIC...Nixon, specifically. I don't like it either but the reasoning is actually pretty sound. You remember back in the early 00's, Dubya sent us all a check for a few hundred bucks as a tax rebate? His reasoning for that was to stimulate the economy which was lagging at the time. The idea is that money put into the hands of the middle and lower classes will be nearly universally spent which creates a burst of economic activity. These people getting 6,7,8,9 thousand back, even if they are working under the table, they aren'
 4.

In the 80's we also used Betamax. Should we bring that technology back because it was around was St. Reagan was President? The times have changed. We aren't in the Cold War Era any longer....we're in an era of unarmed attack vehicles and cyber-warfare that can put one hell of a hurting on an enemy nation without a single boot touching their land. We can take out their defenses, supply-lines, power, etc. all without a single person firing a weapon (unless you count the one on the joystick in DC for the drone-controller). Could we do that in the
 5.

Of course boots on the ground are necessary...I never said that they aren't. But it is indisputable that the number of boots on the ground required has been greatly diminished so, when you're carrying a force large enough to fight two conventional, 20th century-style, troop intensive wars at once, it's overkill and it's beyond prudent to downsize. mrnn
 6.

Grrr...that stinks. I'd suspect either your router is having an issue (maybe restart it?) or your password isn't what you think it is. mrnn
 7. Who said it would never happen? Seems to make sense to me that we'd scale down considering we have two wars winding down, cry we're broke, and war in the 21st century won't be based as much on boots on the ground as it will technology (drones, cyber-warfare, air and naval based weaponry). mrnn
 8. Go to Settings>General>Reset and "Reset Network Settings". After they're reset, go ahead and try connecting to your home network again. mrnn
 9.

Yup. I think it's like a 3k tax CREDIT for each kid or some nonsense. It's funny to hear folks complain about food stamps and such when the EIC is most pure form of redistribution in this country. I like it because folks who qualify turn right around and pump that money into the economy but, especially for a program introduced by a Republican (Nixon), it's unabashed redistribution. mrnn
 10. Objective Morality: Immoral: Doing anything that threatens or harms another person and/or their property. Moral: Everything else. mrnn
 11. Ha! Our son went out for his first solo adventure today, as well (and is still out). I'm right there with ya, sister. mrnn
 12. How do you know if you're account is current? mrnn
 13.

Ha! It's just that libertarian streak I have buried deep down inside. mrnn
 14. My bill was wrong, too. I opted for the "make change immediately" on Feb 4th. This month's bill, marked as Feb 2 - Mar 4, is completely my old plan. Nothing changed. I need to call them and find out why my new pricing didn't go into effect as it should have. mrnn
 15.

Absolutely. Private businesses should be free to serve who they please. Of course, any business is then subject to the backlash in the media (social and network). I find this particular bakery's actions to be pretty repulsive, but if we're going to preach free enterprise, they're well within their rights. I trust the market would have made this bakery pay without the interference of the courts, just as any business reintroducing segregation based on race would likely be out of business very quickly due to the backlash. mrnn
 16. What does it cost to get a tree removed? Is it extra to get the stump grounded down to the dirt? I've got some that make me nervous during storms, too...not to mention the immense shade they put on the front yard has killed a good bit of my bermuda. mrnn
 17. Man...that map had my hopes up. Maybe someday. Georgia - Atlanta, Avondale Estates, Brookhaven, College Park, Decatur, East Point, Hapeville, Sandy Springs, Smyrna mrnn
 18.

If she, or the officers with her, weren't trained well enough to handle the situation, that falls on the force itself. You'd have to shoot pretty damn fast to not have time to differentiate between a wii remote and a gun...fast enough that in your head you're thinking "if they're holding something, I'm shooting.". This just screams unpreparedness for the situation. Sad story. mrnn
 19. Is your desktop hardwired to the router or is it using a wireless connection? If it is hardwired, unplug the internet from the back of your desktop and plug it into your laptop. Disable wireless on your laptop and see if you retain internet connection via the wired connection. This will prove out all your wiring, the modem, and the router. If your laptop won't connect either, let us know, you'll probably have to go through what cpt was trying to tell you to do earlier in order to isolate the faulty component/wire. mrnn
 20.

My understanding is that the jury could've convicted him of a lesser charge in FL...murder 2 or voluntary manslaughter. The jury, essentially, couldn't agree that the man owned any responsibility for the kid's death. mrnn
 21.

If you really don't see the racial issues with this case, and the overall trend in FL, you're turning a willful blind eye. In this case, had those black kids have been armed and killed the man during this altercation, do you really believe they would have gotten off without a murder charge? mrnn
 22.

We've been over this...your numbers (and distance) are bloated to improve your position. There is a very small number of houses within a mile of the airport and far fewer within the flight paths of the runway. I'd be curious to hear your thoughts on my question. mrnn
 23.

Pardon me if I don't have much compassion for someone who trusted their life savings with the word of an airport manager. Common sense says you don't drop that much of your money into a real estate investment where the chances of losing money is far, far greater than making money. Anyone who purchased out there after the airport existed and is now bitching about their property values, to go all Southern on ya, "here's your sign". With that said, if y'all's main complaint is quality of life and depreciation of real estate you own, would it not make m
 24.

The dude (murderer) fled the scene, ordered pizza, and went about his day. The police had to catch up with him. There was no weapon found in the teen's car. But he wasn't guilty of murder? Seriously? At what point, S&D, do you become concerned with a lack of justice? mrnn
 25.

And I'll bet they'll be convicted of murder, just as they should. Florida? It's obvious that if you're a white guy and kill a black kid, good on ya. mrnn
