Is your desktop hardwired to the router or is it using a wireless connection? If it is hardwired, unplug the internet from the back of your desktop and plug it into your laptop. Disable wireless on your laptop and see if you retain internet connection via the wired connection. This will prove out all your wiring, the modem, and the router. If your laptop won't connect either, let us know, you'll probably have to go through what cpt was trying to tell you to do earlier in order to isolate the faulty component/wire. mrnn
