  1. I will keep Brynlee and her family in my prayers.
  2. Just to be safe, pick your kids up from the bus stop. Someone lurking would make me nervous, too.
  3. There is another fort that people forget about sometimes... Fort McAllister. It is in Richmond Hill, your OH will know how to get there, and it is a pretty cool place. Just look up Fort McAllister Historic State Park. I should mention, this is a fort where you can actually go into some of the original bunkers, the trenches are still intact and just a wealth of history can be found at that fort/park. i did a search on yahoo and the page I found is kind of blah on the first page but scroll down to the bottom and there are links to pictures.
  4. LGM named a bunch of good places. Fort Pulaski would be fun a little boy, even though it is technically a museum, the idea of being a REAL fort is "cool". Oatland Island is great, I used to go on field trips when I was a kid. One of my teachers gave up teaching to work there. Mrs. Wilkes Boarding House is very good, cash or check only though and check the hours, they close at 1 or 2 pm. since you are staying on the river, there are a few play areas for kids, tug boats, trains and such to play on, they are not full size. The Pirates House is a good place to eat and your DS might enjoy the hist

    Help!

Welcome to land of Holy Carpet. My dog chewed holes in our carpet, two big ones. We used carpet tape to piece them back together ( he chewed on a seam) and it worked well for a while. Katcol had good advice about patching it and it may work for for a few years and by then you may be ready to replace the carpet with new flooring.
  6. Wow, that just goes to show how little attention so many of us, myself included, give to others. I saw this on the news early this morning, they showed the car and if I saw correctly, you could see flies buzzing in the car. The windows were not tinted so I suppose if anyone noticed the car and driver at all they probably assumed the person was sleeping. So sad, I wonder if if anyone had been looking for him/her and if there is a missing persons report on file somewhere. Time will tell, hopefully the news will report a bit more on this.
  7. spaghetti & meatballs with garlic bread.
  8. I've had a few friend requests from people I don't know and i just click ignore. However, the last few days I have had one that I click ignore and by the next day they are requesting again. FB indicates that this person is friends with some of my other FB friends but I don't know for sure, so I will continue to ignore.
  9. I will send up prayers immediately.
  10. I lived on Cincinnati Ohio for a year when I was a teenager and I was teased over my accent. It was always my peers and they called me a "hilljack", I've never heard that term before until then. After just a few weeks I had wiggled my way in and made friends with most everyone in my school. After they got to know me, some actually admitted to liking my accent, probably just because it was different. Personally, I have not experienced any negativity from either side that I took to be more than just banter, poppycock, silliness or whatever.
  11. I didn't grow up in this area and therefore I have no relatives here and no stories to share. What I can say is that I was always under the impression that calling someone a Yankee or a damn Yankee was done in a joking manner. I understand during the Civil War era and years after why there was hate on both sides, but I thought by now that was over. I never considered some folks living long lives and passing down the stories such as Feelip's friend. But then I have to admit that I was not raised with that kind of bitterness because the stories simply were not there to tell and if they were, the
  12. I was just looking at some fish aquariums for sale on kijiji and someone from Newnan had what looked like a nice one for a nice price. When I looked to read the details it stated that they would ONLY accept payment via Paypal. Go figure, just another way to scam folks. Dang.
  13. OKay, thanks. My p&s is 6 MP and the DSLR is 12 MP. I will try using it as well as with the other next time. The pics I took last night were not anything special and I didn't expect them to be. However, there are a few that are a bit questionable and they were taken about the time I was having trouble getting the settings to remain where I set them. I was using the night setting and it kept jumping around to the portrait, museum, or firework setting. I don't know what was up with that, but I will chock it up to operator error, for now.
  14. Thanks for the tips PsychoMom, I never even thought about wearing black. I do have a question for you, what, in your opinion, is the best type of camera to use? I have a point and shoot that I used last and I have a Canon DSLR that I did not use last night because it is heavier than the p&s.
  15. Me and some friends went out tonight on a ghost hunt. It was our first time and it was quite interesting. I have a lot to learn about how to take pictures in the dark and when to be quiet. All in all it was something I definitely want to do again.
  16. I hate to hear that, hopefully you will find the sign and get the person who took it "a coming to Jesus meeting" with the PCSO and a PC Judge. I can't stand a thief.
  17. I would like to know as well.
  18. Hope you have fun on your trip, it is a great place to visit. Hi Ho Silver, when did you move and do you live in Savannah or just outside? I ask because I grew up on Pooler. Clio, congratulations on moving back home, I miss it, but work holds my family and me here for now.
  19. Sending prayers up for this family, friends and especially her three boys. It's good news, however, to hear that her boys are all going to be okay.
  20. I'm a Chevy/GMC girl and always have been, but I have to admit I really like the 2011 Mustang. As far as the Raptor, it's not for me, but that is just me. I prefer just a regular ole truck, I drive a GMC Sierra now, she's 11 years old and has 218,000 miles on her, got her new when she only had 10 miles, but I LOVE my truck. I've got my eye on that new Camaro though. As far as vehicles for investments, it's a gamble I think. My FIL bought a Mercedes Benz back in 1997 brand new and was convinced it would be an investment. It was one of those they only made 500 of and I don't recall the exact mod
  21. He/She must think they are extra special and can do what they want. Hmmmph
  22. :yahoo:Good people ROCK!!!! I'm glad someone was kind enough to help you out when you needed it. Thanks for sharing!!
  23. My thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends.
