A big High 5 to all the coaches for making New Hope one of the best places around for youth sports. Baseball, Football, Cheerleading and Softball. It doesn't get any better than New Hope.

Judge Rules Child Must Go To Public School
Coppertop's Pop replied to NewsJunky's topic in RECENT TOPICS
The judges are being politically correct. It's sad, but the mom should simply move to another state and then homeschool the child as she sees fit. -
Lockheed Martin is expanding the C-130 cargo plane assembly line, and they are also in production of the F-35 fighter, upgrades on the C-5 cargo plane & new orders for P3 Naval surveillance planes as well as finishing out production on the F-22 fighter jet. Rumor from the lodge is there are about to be close to 1,000 jobs opening up on the Marietta assembly line. There have plenty of the old-timers retiring and there is a huge backlog of work orders waiting. You have to go to the Lockheed Martin web site and apply online as they won't accept phone calls or walk-in applicants.

My parents live in Marietta and will be voting NO to the SPLOST vote for tomorrow. I suppose there's an anti-tax movement and the folks in Cobb are sick of giving the government even one more penny. My gut feeling is the measure will pass, but I sure hope the SPLOST will be defeated to send a message that enough is enough. Your thoughts?

You might want to call Doug Sanders (Sandershandyman) He's a commerce member on here and he can get you fixed right up.

I usually vote for the democrat. They tend to have more common sense on social issues than republicans like Bill Heath. I would personally vote no to Sunday sales, but I would at least like to vote on it and let the people speak.

Check out DaveRamsey.com. His show has really helped clear some things up for me.

I've searched several junkyards in the area and I found a rear end over in Piedmont Alabama for $650 and I found a match in Jeff Davis County down in South Georgia for $500. Both used rear ends have over 100,000 miles on them. I had a mechanic check out my rear axle assembly because of the loud whining and he said the axles are badly worn, there's some play in the gears and he'd recommend a complete rebuild including ring and pinions, seals, new axles, and go ahead and redo the brakes while it's torn down, etc. The cost would be over $1,300 to do it right. My truck has well over 200

I have a 97 Ford F150 with a couple hundred thousand miles on it and the rear end is really whining. I replaced the gear oil with some synthetic gear oil and the gears seemed to have a little play in there, probably 1/8 inch. That was nearly a year ago. The synthetic oil seemed to quieten it down for a little while, but now it's whining loud again. It's a 14 year old truck, so I might do better to pull a rear end out of a wrecked truck rather than have this rear end completely rebuilt. Any suggestions? Also, does anyone have an old wrecked F150 with a good rear end that will fit? It is a

Also, doesn't some alternators already have a voltage regulator on it? 1991 Chevy C-1500, 4.3

We bought a used truck in November, Chevy truck with a 4.3 motor. The battery died in December. We bought another battery, but the gentleman at one parts place suggested we might have a bad voltage regulator, but their store couldn't test it. We went to a different local parts store and they hooked up a machine to the new battery and engine and said everything checks out fine. 4 weeks later, my brand new battery died again. We went to a repair shop and the guy said it was my alternator and said the alternator was putting out too much juice and fried my battery. So, now I'm confu

Unemployment rises in 20 states, falls in 15
Coppertop's Pop replied to nschur's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Be sure to watch the President's State of the Union address tonight. The economy is struggling and people are definitely feeling the pinch, but there is good news on the horizon. There will be significant investment in our infrastructure (roads, bridges, highways, railroads, etc). That should bring many jobs to regions hit hardest by the economic downturn. I've said it before and I'll say it again, the key to withstanding the rough economic times is through higher education and living within your means. If you have a student in high school or college, drive home the fact that professiona -

We went to see True Grit and I was pretty impressed. The movie wasn't as good as the 1969 John Wayne version, but it was a lot better than most remakes. I really liked Rooster, LeBeouf and Lucky Ned Pepper. The rest of the cast were pretty good too, but these three characters were particularly impressive.
