We need smart growth...that has been lacking from Paulding's leaders for quite a while. Convenience stores can have a negative impact on surrounding areas.

http://www.thepossumdrop.com/ Just wondering if folks were already planning on going to The Possum Drop, or maybe the Peach Drop in Atlanta.... I personally like to watch the bowl games on TV and stay out of the crowds.

You do have to ask, who's counting the votes? Machines? He who programs the machine could theoretically be bought off...cash money in a paper sack makes all sorts of things happen. As slow as paper ballots and hanging chads are, I like to see a paper trail. Pubby may just have a point on this issue, this one issue out of ten thousand. But I suppose democrats have to be right occasionally.

Dobbins Air Base - will there be commercial flights?
Coppertop's Pop replied to Coppertop's Pop's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Expanding Dobbins makes much more sense than investing in an airfield between Dallas and Rockmart. There is a major interstate highway there in Marietta, an existing 10,000 ft. runway that will support the largest jets in the world, there's a heavy rail spur right at the end of the runway. I could see where businesses would be chomping at the bit to build warehouse space there for Air Cargo. Also, within 5 miles, there are more than two dozen hotels, numerous restaurants, convention areas, SunTrust park and so forth. This should be a big win for the folks in Cobb...They are already used to th -
Dobbins Air Base - will there be commercial flights?
Coppertop's Pop replied to Coppertop's Pop's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Will this open the door to allow commercial jets (Delta, American Airline, etc) to fly into and out of Cobb rather than having to drive all the way to Hartsfield-Jackson? I'm sure fed Ex, UPS etc would love the air cargo. I could see where many businesses along the Northern Arc would love this to be an option. Your thoughts? -

The Marietta base already has a joint-use agreement over the runway with its neighbor, Lockheed Martin, but federal law restricts other similar agreements from being signed. Pubby, there have always been and will always be wealthy people. What I'm saying is we as a society love violence. Something needs to change that. Having rich folks give more isn't the answer. -

The social safety net you refer to is just plain robbery from the working class and payouts to BLM and the welfare class. Certain folks want handouts and will turn to gun violence if they don't get it. You mentioned when kids start going hungry, they start stealing. Justifying criminal behavior is not acceptable. How about work for food requirements? If you don't work, you don't eat. That philosophy worked for thousands of years (until democrats come along). We're in a mess and I don't have the answers, but doing nothing is not a solution. We're faced with a crime wave here in America, what -
When I do buy stuff, it's amazon or ebay for me. The days of standing in line with all those pushy people are over for me, the kids are grown and would rather me give them a gift card or cash so they can buy their own gift.

Paulding BOE & EPHS football Booster club being sued
Coppertop's Pop replied to Lady Raider's topic in RECENT TOPICS
When one of the school board members also has a major financial interest in the bank, there might just be an issue. Paulding has always been run by the good ol' boys, so taxpayers will probably be on the hook. Either way, the lawyers make money. -

In the fall of 2000, Bush vs Gore, a few nights before the election, a democrat activist dug up some dirt on George W. Bush from 25 years prior, when he was in college...it was a DUI. Regardless, Bush admitted he used to drink a lot back in his college days, but he said he hasn't had a drink in over 20 years....the far left called George W. Bush a drunk who couldn't be trusted.... Bush won the election. Hit pieces right before an election usually backfire. Regarding Roy Moore, something that "allegedly" happend 30 or 40 years ago doesn't hold water. I strongly question the timing as well -

If the building is on school property and being used by school students, I don't see how the school district can get out of making lease payments. I'm no lawyer, but the bank is being represented by Roy Barnes Law Group and when ol' Roy speaks in the courtroom, folks would be wise to listen. He usually wins his case, and wins big. -

If Pubby is against him, then I must support him. Pubby always supports the election losers. By the way, some broad had 40 years to bring this accusation to light, but waits until now, right before the election? Nope. I ain't buying it. The national media is viscious and will stop at nothing to smear a republican, yet they think the democrats like Clinton, Pelosi & Maxine are the moral majority. HA HA HA HA HA HA DRAIN THAT SWAMP! -

America is losing more citizens on the streets of Chicago than on the battlefields in Afghanistan, Iraq, etc. Do you see a cycle here? Places that have a high concentrations of democrats, have a higher crime rate....just look at New York, Chicago, Miami, Atlanta, Los Angeles, etc. It appears liberal cities are a major health hazard.
