I am so glad to here she came through the surgery so well. She needs to talk to the hospital social worker or have a family member speak to them as an advocate. The Community chest has a list of local services that can give her the longterm help she needs, please take a look at thier profile.

I agree Pubby! It is about doing the right thing evey time without fail, it brings success on a personal level no matter the cost. When we look at history, many were not successful in thier own time, but history remembers them fondly, which is the legacy you will leave behind. Having started and grown a business of my own and now helping Pubby with his, I will tell you there is a fundamental difference between an owner and a 9-5 er and someone that has his own business. The business owner does not enjoy working for others and is willing to take on the hard work and sacrifice needed to run a business. Thank you Babecake, yes in the end it is usually an infection because their immune systems are so weak, the isolation they endure is also difficult, and for my Dad, we lost our Mom 3 years ago, so he spends so much time totally alone. It has brought us so close, when he gets real sick it is me he wants because of our special relationship. All of the support and prayers I get from my p.com friends helps build me up so I have more to give.

Thank you all for your prayers. I just talked to him, if they get the platelets up he will go home on sat and take chemo every week. He will need help especially after about the 3rd.or 4th treatment. I have 1 sister that is not sick nor are her children at this point. If she gets sick I will have to go, this is going to be long and drawn out with trips back and fourth. If this treatment does not work he will have to have his spleen removed.

He was sent straight from the Oncologist office to the hospital yesterday. His platelets were so low they wanted to admit him for a transfusion. He is also going back on Chemo, they want to try and kill the antibodies that are eating his platelets faster than he can make them. I am very concerned, killing off antibodies seems very dangerous to to, I know his immune system will be very weak. I may have to go to TN. off and on for a while, since my immune system is extremely strong, I almost never get viral infections. The rest of my family has little ones in school and as a whol
