Thank goodness companies that are certified and liscensed to do this work are coming here to assist our homeowners with the proper procedures. If these houses are not properly cleaned they will be unlivable. Femma is only going to reimburse homeowners that have this done by certified companies. The agents of this company will bring documentation of their certification when they come out. Anyone that is approached by a cleanup company should ask for certification. Mold can be a health hazard proper cleanup is the only way to prevent the growth of it. I am sure that many

Thanks Pubby for bringing us the updates. Having been out in the county this week and seen all the devestation, I am amazed at how well all our county employees handled the challenges of this disaster, especially considering they had never faced this stuation before, they did an exceptional job, I also want to thank David Austin, Mayor Boyd Austin, Mayor Carmin Rollins, and the many county Department heads that took the time to give interveiws so we could keep the the citizens of the county updated and informed. I believe the county will be able to plan on debri removal at residences, as we all know we are waiting for $ for disaster relief, I believe peopl would want to remove water soaked debri from their homes as soon as possible to allow the structure to dry and prevent contamination from toxic mold. I say remove it now, then wait for info from the county as they continue to put together a plan for removal. Safe water, sewage, and road safety is a priority, we are not a week out from this disaster. The most important thing is to remove it from the home. There is assistance avail

Yes they do know and I have always given them the chance to say goodbye, even bringing the body home from the vet and laying it out for them. My mother in law did not do this, and the other animals 3 years later still will not go near that crate in the corner.

Macland rd was still closed at the Cobb line when I went by there at 4pm yesterday. Can anyone confirm that it is still closed today? There has also been some confusion about how much of Business 6 in Dallas is closed. It is open from the Waffle house to 120, you can still get to all the businesses up to that point.

I agree! I think there should be some type of appreciation service held when things get settled down. We have seen county trucks going up and down mainstreet nonstop, as well as seeing them everywhere I have been in the county. Things may have calmed down for those of us not directly effected, and for some of the safety folks such as fireman and police, but county workers are still dealing with so much at this time. I am not sure if you could get enough of them to come to anyplace you would be serving, or if they would be able to go out of their way to take advantage of a meal.

There is a silver lining to this and it is the most have been taken in, helped and assisted by neighbors and family. I am very proud to live where people had friends and family to help them instead of being totally dependent on Gov. assistance to get through the worse of the crisis. However I do have some serious concerns because the time will come when these folks need more assistance than family and friends can give. Immediately is the need to dispose of wet and moldy material being removed. Who will assist with this expense, the will need large trucks and roll offs, not many c
