  1. This has hit way too close to home for me. It happened way to close here in Georgia. My son's metabolic condition could cause him to act strangely and even become violent. A fever could cause him to spiral in a few hours and be totally out of his mind. So many other things could have been done. I am almost always on the side of LE. This was a lazy cop out, at the least he should be out of a job. I am not sure what the answer to many of these problems are. You have thugs out of control and more and more officers not far behind. I judge everything on a case to case basis. the Furgeson case

    foot pain

I had a podiatrist prescribe a pad for the ball of my foot that made the bones spread with every step and it eventually got better. Some shoes still irritate it. If I can find one of the pads I will snap a pic for you. By the way we are pretty sure the MN caused my facet syndrome do to serious limping for a long time that damaged the facet joint. I never had a shot or surgery, now I regret not doing something sooner or just staying off it more.
  3. *SHIFT* GIGGLE!!!! I wonder what brings ole Dale out to Paulding after all this time!
  4. Those type of people are drawn to minimum wage jobs. They know they will not get raises or move up. The jobs are created for just such people. I have moved way past expecting decent customer service from the mw industries. I was just explaining to Stradial why the employee was valued and it is not for the way they treat customers. All they have to do is jump through corporate hoops to keep their job. Nobody in their right mind is going to bust their buts for mw so of course the lazy folks are applying. The entire structure is a self fulfilling prophecy. I am positive that the huge turno
  5. You people need to talk to more people that pay min. wage or a few cents more. These people are not thankful for the job. Most of them call in or are late a few times a week. They not only use personal drama as an excuse but bring it to work and expect people to put up with it. 50% of them steal from the company on a regular basis. They also don't think twice about insubordination to the point they often intimidate and scare some managers and employees. You have managers of corporately owned stores that steal, abuse employees verbally and come to work stoned or under the influence. It has b
  6. You might try Burnt Hickory Methodist church, they have quite a few throughout the year.
  7. I think it is Mccormick that makes the package of seasoning for beef stew. You put it in a bowl or ziplock with your meat coat it and brown it. It makes the best stew flavor ever. I put canned beef broth instead of water in mine. You can use beef bullion if you prefer. We are eating some of mine this week. We ate most of the veggies and were tired of it in the fall. I froze it, I boiled more veggies added the broth and meat, my husband had it for breakfast the morning after. I also like to add some frozen green peas to mine and cook them for about 30 minutes before I serve it.
  8. I have said all along that it was more about keeping grocery stores in the black during the recession than actually caring about helping people. You have to understand just how critical that money was in the scheme of things. It allowed rent to be paid, utilities, and left some room for people to consume manufactured goods which is important to the economy. It is always about Wall street. Was it the right thing to do for the economy and the country? I think we will have to wait on the history books for that one.
  9. Have you noticed they jumped on the EBT wagon along with every gas station and discount store in the state. I know that some people might have challenges that make it difficult to get to a regular grocery store. Some may be limited to eating only convenience food because they don't know how to cook or don't have a stove to cook fresh meat and veggies. The fact that they are not required to carry those types of food disturbs me a little. On the other hand DG in Cedertown does carry fresh food and it was a nickel to 1.00 or more expensive than most grocery stores on those items. ps good l
  10. I have been to the one in Kennesaw a couple of times. I was surprised that I did not enjoy the experience. My daughters and my son-in-laws regularly go junking with me. Antique malls, yard sales, estate sales, and discount stores we all love it. We went to Cave Springs Sunday and had a great time. The thing I did not like about BH was the level of disorganization. This is due to their practice of removing or blacking out descriptive labels on boxes. I had to literally open a lot of boxes as did others, talk about a mess. The shelves were a disaster, They loosely stock the shelves in
  11. Not going to be used to charter world class teams from all over the world to drop them 20 minutes to the sport park or this one. Who knows Bartow is probably planning to build a new airport with the FAA money we may have to pay back
  12. I know that a lot of folks come to this site to see the feed back from people watching the meetings. I hope those on the keep Paulding beautiful will read this and discuss my idea about changing the culture of Paulding when it comes to trash. I come from Memphis Tn it was voted the most beautiful city in America for many years. Not sure about now, but it was something everyone was proud of and their were signs all over town reminding people of that. It is a cultural thing here, I have been to events that were 75% local born and raised. I have seen entire families get up from an area and
  13. Bartow offered to share in the sports complex and will probably do the same with this one. If our neighboring counties want to build up areas close to the park for commerce we welcome it. Not sure if it will happen but it is a game changer for north Paulding and Acworth.
  14. It is no fun growing up with an addictive personality. I came to learn that they never change. They can be even more unbearable when they are not using, many are abusive to those around them. Some of the trades can be just as bad such as an addiction to spending and putting the family in deep debt. Just as an example. I get what you are saying, it may not be a physical addiction by it is habit forming. I have seen people use until they barely take care of the basics of getting by. It is not everyone, but many are under the impression that it is the most harmless of recreational drugs.
  15. When you read the many testimonies by people that have had total remissions from cancer you will begin to understand how afraid big pharma is of cannabis. Now people want to use it for for pain and control of other nervous system diseases. The limit on THC is only to appease them as it is such a small amount many won't reap noticeable benefit from it. Imagine a cure for cancer that creates no terrible side effects to be treated by a huge arsenal of pharmaceuticals. If you imagine the big picture of cancer in this country, it is mind boggling the effect that it would have not just on pharma com
  16. We have snow flakes over one inch in diameter. We have easily gotten an inch in about 45 minutes up here in Burnt Hickory. If it keeps up like this we could see 6-10 inches. The weather channel is reporting nothing but rain in Dallas sense it started and still claiming no snow until later tonight. What idiots.
  17. Finally started sleeting here with an occasional snow flake. It is not melting when it hits the ground. It is going to drop our temps if it keeps this up.
  18. I am having lunch before so I can hopefully stay awake till the first flake falls!
  19. Is it ok to have your snow day cocktail before it actually starts snowing?
  20. This is the only place I have ever lived that people don't care about trash. All the natives can jump me and I don't care. It is not just the roads, it is parking lots, restrooms, movies, any and all special events. I have been to events that are attended by about 80% natives of the county. It is a lack of home training, parents and kids leave the trash right where they sit and walk away. If we threw a gum wrapper out of the car window we got a butt whoopin. A lot of parents around here need a butt whoopin.
  21. Actually it depends on if either of the principal parties put anything in print, that would be Mike Jones and the Employer. You can claim all day that someone said something, but without written or recorded proof it is a she said he said. Not taking sides, just saying it might be proof enough on social media but not grounds for an legal action. On the other hand publishing it without that type of proof could be grounds for a libel suit. Pubby has warned people before that case law is still being written as it pertains to social media.
  22. I get it now, someone put things on social media about Mr. Jones that he says is not true. So Mr. Jones gets the owner of a social media site to give his side of it on social media. Somewhere in here there may or may not be some legal issues. Therefore no printed or recorded facts from any of the 3 primary parties. Hmm does this mean that the social media folks wear all the mud in this situation and principal parties walk away a little wiser, along with I would assume some legal council with heavier pockets. If you were one to ask for facts backed by proof in this situation, you mig
  23. Glad I got my errands done early. Everyone be careful on the roads. It is bouncing and sticking to the porch and concrete. Daughter had enough in Rockmart to write her name in the glass top table. I hope it doesn't get bad.
