  1. My understanding is that Delta is not concerned with direct competition of any carriers that might find success at our airport. The competition is over FAA money. They have not shown much interest in the general aviation airports in the area. I suspect that passenger service might entitle a lot more FAA money, because that makes sense. I don't believe we will see any significant passenger service in our lifetime if ever. FAA money can buy a lot of bells and whistles. We are competing with much better general aviation airports in our area. The object of the game is to get as many aircraft r
  2. Does anyone know who the candidates for the position were? There backgrounds? qualifications?
  3. My vacuums are bag-less for that reason. The down side is the vacuum filters become stinky. All the bag-less will have some type foam filter over the intake to protect it. This is where I de-stink mine. You can use any kind of scented oil and put a few drops. No more than that or the filter will clog and strain the motor. It also does not hurt to wash them with soap and water. This is what I use......... last year I found a Yankee candle brand of wax burner bars I really like. Wax burners are nice but dumping used wax is a pain. I loved this so much I ordered them online. I immediately notice
  4. My adult children live out there. The housing is much more affordable for young couples to get a start at owning a home. They have not had too many issues with crime or anything else negative. They like shopping in the small towns such as Rockmart and Cedertown. They are just a few miles off of 278 so they have no traffic issues getting to their jobs in Cartersville, Dallas, Marietta, and even Rome. They never complain about traffic.
  5. The last election was a very quiet affair to say the least. I think some of that is due to the small number of registered voters in a very small area. In other words all you need is a list of the registered voters within the city limits and canvas them quietly. There were so few signs during the last election that you would not know who was running if you did not pass the sign. I think those that are truly engaged are a very small number so you have to work with those people and win them over. I would suggest that residents that can vote in that race should attend the city counsel meetings.
  6. I agree with you. It is also becoming more and more difficult to find people that will work hard and not steal from their employer. People don't see goofing off on the job as stealing. I was brought up with a strong work ethic and raised my children the same. I am shocked at times to see how valued they are by corporate in their jobs, many times they have been pushed to take on jobs higher than their skill level based on their work ethic. I see how they are to be how everyone should work. We just have a problem were it seems that some management can not respect anyone that would work under the
  7. I grew up opposed to unions and I still have no use for those that rape and pillage companies anymore than I do with executives that do the same. I do believe that they create a balance between labor and the company. The government should have been leveling the playing field as it was intended. Unfortunately our legislatures are nothing but whores allowing corporations to write their own legislation to be rubber stamped by this vermin sucking on the public tit to the tune of millions of taxpayer dollars. As a middle class tax paying citizen I see how much decent wages that allow the majority
  8. I agree with most of what you said with the exception of the oil wells and refineries. That hey day is well over. The Arabs aren't playing when it comes to that. Our oil reserves were purposely designated at reserves. And I believe that we need to make every effort to wean ourselves off of fossil fuels and end the ethanol disaster. Right to work states have some of the highest poverty levels why would we want more states added. Balanced regulation is the way to go. Americans like extremes and it is ruining us.
  9. It was an interesting article. The thing that struck me really strange was the idea that we would take the captured illegals deeper into Mexico and release them. Doesn't this sound like what a wildlife management official would do with nuisance wildlife. This article and much of the rhetoric dehumanizes these people. Why don't we take them deep into Canada and release them? We don't do that to immigrants it is not what Americans do. I have no issue with deporting the criminals. We may be doing the best thing that we can do and that is assimilating them and educating them. I did not realize the
  10. We don't have all the facts on either story. We simply know we don't like what we see. I have never been able to see children be whipped or yelled at. I used other types of discipline. Mt first child at the age of 4 became obsessed with anything of mine. She would pull my night gowns out of the drawer and roll in them. No harm there, then she began to use anything she could find to stand on to get up high to decorative and glass objects I had out of reach. One day I found one broken behind the couch. I showed it to her, talked about how it was special to me, a treasure like her toys. I wen
  11. You know what, I have never owned a play pen. My children were never in one. I can tell you if they were monitoring a lot of mothers with play pens a lot would be in big trouble.
  12. You do understand why the issue of illegal immigration was not addressed for over 20 years? right. Because it was producing millionaires at an unprecedented rate ever in the history of this country. Take a minute to let that sink in, really sink in. Slavery was the back bone of the economy of the southern states even better than undocumented workers it was free labor. I guess the question is what do you do when you get such a glut of cheap labor that the sheer volume becomes a burden. Of course you then have the issue of them becoming educated and demanding a piece of the American pie.
  13. I don't think Donald is the only dinosaur running for office and he would be in like company in DC. He is a strong believer in crony capitalism as are many in congress. That is my yard stick. I believe that it is the single most devastating issue with our country. We know that selling power is immoral, yet when it benefits us we shrug oh well the end justifies the means. I believe it is at the bottom of many of our social ills. The playing field which will never be level as our founding fathers intended, is now Mount Everest. If a dinosaur is elected I believe social unrest will be the res
  14. I am not talking about influencing who the nominee is. I am talking about the extreme right wing crapola spewed by them that the candidate best go along with or fox's audience gets mad at them. So they are pressured into it and that is when they lose the swing vote. Hillary lost because she was not preferred by black women over Obama. She was not a good candidate then or now and she is not preferable to anyone currently running. It is time for the Clintons to go back to Arkansas now. They have done all they can do as public servants.
  15. Would that be proof that skin color dictates whether or not one will be a poor criminal? Is it genetic?
  16. The fact that neither one of them is sitting in the White House right now is proof positive of it. It's not really funny to the people in this country that would like to have balanced leadership in the White house.
  17. I believe that the majority is also black on black. Voluntary segregation concentrated into low or no income areas has created pressure cookers. I am not going to give you a history lesson into how that was accomplished. It was touched on briefly in the video if you recognize it. There is no denying that behavior is a huge factor. But the behavior was and still is absolutely predictable. The media loves to show the example of the one in a million rising above it as proof that people live that way because they want to. I would like to see it reversed to a one in a million lives in poverty and c
  18. I believe that Fox is trying to convince the public that she is the front runner. If they say so then she must be. Serves my purpose just fine to see them focus on her LOL!
  19. Fox news will choose the republican's candidate for them like they always do. They create the dialog and if a candidate wants that office they had better memorize that script.
  20. Thanks for sharing this. It is the first time I have seen this. I came to these conclusions on my own quite a while back. It clearly demonstrates a majority that for the most part that has been rendered powerless do to economics. The same majority that is blamed for all the ills of our society. The most brilliant idea ever conceived was to turn poverty into profit for an extremely small minority. How can 90% of all the money no matter where or what it is spent on, somehow make into the bank accounts of the global 1%. Many will hate this video because they will not accept that they are the most
  21. Everyone seemed to love Trump. I think it is because we have gotten use to his personality through TV shows. I always keep in mind that in his world he is a dictator you have to be to get as far as he has. He has been pulling out in front for some time, the debate sealed his fate last night. The jackals of his own party are circling him like they always do. Their competitive nature won't allow them to do anything less. The survivor of that party will have been denigrated so badly by his own people that the fence sitters like myself will have a hard time overlooking a lot of it. We just don
  22. I came home to the garden being brittle and dry. I have been dragging hose while trying to get home and garden caught up. I am so glad to see the rain. I have been resting today.
