  1. The "reasonable accommodation" apparently isn't good enough for her, as she continues to meddle with the forms. It would be one thing if she would utilize the RFRA laws and stay away from marriage license forms, but she's obviously trying to inject her beliefs into this government process. She believes she has the support of all the Christians in this country. I am sure they will take up love offerings for her defense. They may even give her financial support to live on for a while after she is removed from office. Her 15 minutes of fame will fade when the next big thing hits the media. M
  2. I wonder why people want to persecute her? Could it be because many believe the bible supports the persecution of homosexuals? At the very least many believe that it entitles them to discriminate against them. You won't find openly gay couples welcomed with open arms in many churches. I well remember the civil rights movement when people believed segregation was supported by the bible. They believed that the end of segregation would promote marriage between the races which was the most horrible thing that could happen. Well it happened and the world did not come to an end. She sent a clear mes
  3. I don't dislike you, It is a fact that you believe the president can do nothing right. You set the tone of the political discussion you participate in. It is always negative and bad because of who is in the White house. You have never wavered from that. The I have changed and God has forgiven me is wishy washy, it brings to mind the minister that fornicates on Saturday night with the call girl, ask for forgiveness Sunday morning then walks to the pulpit white as snow every Sunday Even though according to scripture this women committed adultery every time she slept with husband 2 and 3, she wa
  4. She is picking and choosing the parts of the bible she literally believes. according to the bible there is no such thing as divorce making her an adulteress. A judge could refuse to grant her a divorce on the same grounds that she is denying gays a marriage license, We know your issue is with anything that happens under this president. At the end of the day it is about people forcing their religious and political beliefs on a segment of the population they want to be free to discriminate against and mistreat. All because their lifestyle offends them. They are and have always been victimized. I
  5. I am sure that she will be hailed as a hero from many pulpits all over the country. She holds a powerful position in government and has garnered more power by having Christians rallying behind her. Her actions also have far reaching consequences that are not very Christian. For all of my life I have been aware that it is open season on homosexuals. As kids on the play ground any young boy that was not tough enough was queer or a fairy. Any male displaying any sensitivity queer. Later the word fag had become the ultimate insult. In high school a young man was dragged under the bleachers,
  6. I have always supported the airport. I have not always supported some of the decisions and those that make them. One of the things that bothers me is the idea that the problems with the airport are always due to not putting enough money into it. Most people that made some of these huge mistakes on a real job in the real world would have found themselves fired. These boards have many members that do own their own businesses. Had an employee lost them as much money as we have on this airport they would have been gone. The money comes out of the tax payers coffer so there is no pain in the failu
  7. Speaking of commissioners, Is Todd still thinking about running for chairman? That would be huge risk for the anti airport folks. Dave Carmicheal could win leaving his seat and Todds open. We could end up with 3 pro airports seats again. Definitely looks like some kind of strategy in the works. Dave's running looks like a bit of strategy to keep Todd out of the chair seat. It should be interesting to see it play out. I had thought by now the Morrison's would have a check and the fly would have been plucked out of the ointment. I guess priorities change.
  8. I think if some folks want to run things so badly they need to put their money where their mouth is and run for office. Build successful businesses so they are ask to be on some of the boards. Some folks just sit back criticize, sign up to do it at meetings. Obviously a lot of people think we are still in a recession and nobody can afford to invest, go on vacation or any of the things people do with their money. I guess the recession is just lingering in Paulding longer than anywhere else, What I don't get is why 200,000 plus houses are going up again. Cross roads is exploding with commerci
  9. You have to love the positive attitude towards our community and anything positive or good every happening here. This community is so overwhelmingly negative. The surrounding counties have so many positive things happening but not Paulding. We need to turn that airport into a positive. People wonder why their input gets passed over with an eye roll. It is not like it can't be done, the surrounding counties are proof. The attitude is specific to this county. Some people have made a hobby of criticism here. We will never get open and positive leaders in this county we are a self fulfilling prop
  10. The small charter planes won't work. Sport teams bring equipment and it needs to go through security screening. I know there is a core group that does not want a significant amount of anything flying in and out of that airport. All good deals are a win/win. Propeller is in it for profit and they will have to work hard for it. as far as I know they are not on payroll from the county. At the end of the day it is still a trust issue.
  11. I totally agree with a lot of the points made in this discussion. The elephant in the room are the trust issues and it is well known who the people are that aren't trusted. I am not sure if we can move forward without that issue resolved. Back to airports. All the airports around us have niches that make them successful. Location has a lot to do with the success of corporate and hobby airports doing well. You have to have higher incomes locally to support both. I believe our niche can be charter and shuttle up 101. We don't need higher local incomes. we pull the higher income from around
  12. What I have understood from day one is there is no commercial airline waiting in the wings for all the upgrades to start business here. The bells and whistles simply make our airport easier to sell. Propeller was matching our investment. Unlike the contract with the movie studio company that had no skin in the game. I didn't realiize they had multiple clients either. I think Propeller exaggerated their goals because of their audience of local business owners. At this point I can't figure out why they are still here. One of the things that is starting to become obvious to me is that some f
  13. I think we have a very good shot at charter and shuttle service to the sports park in Bartow. I drove through there yesterday. They are going gangbusters with commercial construction in town and up and down 41 and 75. They are on the ball when it comes to manufacturing and tourism. We have a chance at capitalizing on it. I don't see it happening. This county will strain a gnat and swallow a camel when it comes to money. Bartow is not afraid to put millions in infrastructure and go the extra mile when accommodating business. Every penny here is scrutinized. pinched and moaned over. The sam

  15. They are in pesticides considered safe for humans and pets. It is the main ingredient in lice shampoo, flea powder, and mosquito spray. Every once in a while our back porch gets infested. We spray it with mosquito spray that contains it and no more problems.
  16. I have never seen anyone one try to inject cra cra national spin into local issues so he can vomit the pig into every discussion like he does. He often interjects why can't we talk about the president into our local issues. I don't think he can control himself most of the time.
  17. Mites! for everything in the natural world there is a mite. Paper. wood, grass, and more. Some you need a magnifying glass to see. Dogs, cats, birds and even lizards and snakes can carry them. Some of us like myself and probably you have a histamine reaction to them. Any product with pyrimidine will kill them and keep them off of you.
  18. I was watching the weather channel. They had the video of the first plane crash in what seemed just a few minutes after it hit. I was alone and I felt like I could not contain all the feelings and called my husband at work. I remember my brain kept trying to process what I saw like it always processes violence on the tv screen. It's not real don't feel any real emotion. I literally had to break down that barrier and when I did I was overwhelmed as I watched the second building attacked and then the collapse. It is a deep and painful scar on the American people.
  19. This made me grin this morning. The bird has perfect rhythm his friend not so much.
  20. My Daughter came over yesterday before I got home. She heard dishes rattling and decided to do a little public shaming of her on. She put this on FB. This is my newest rescue from the drive thru at Mickey D's in Rockmart.
  21. I have no idea about the specifics you are referring to. When someone tells me something in confidence or off the record it stays that way period. As I have said I knew more than I wanted to know and in the end and wished I could forget half of it. At the end of the day politics is a game. A game of manipulation, secrets and lies. Those that don't do well at it don't last. Those that are good at it are still there. That pretty much sums it up. The details aren't that important because simply put no matter what the voter likes or wants does not matter, you have handed power to a bulldozer. Pu
  22. Did it occur to you that Pubby is not the only one with this perspective of this issue. He certainly allows you and others to discuss it from your perspective. When he doesn't agree with you all hell breaks loose. The insults start flying and God forbid he lobs a few back. He occasionally does but he never abuses his power over the board to delete you, or your words. I sometimes wonder what some of you would do on the other side of the board. My guess Pubby would have been gone in the first few days. Most of you believe that he should restrict his posting or at least moderate his personality
  23. This is what this site has become. This is where people come to vomit now. It is seldom that there are discussions that stay civil. Most that come here to post don't want a civil discussion. Everyone gives as good as they get. I am not pointing fingers. 95% of those here now have indulged. The balance is gone. Those that don't like that sort of thing have moved on. The ones that do like it don't want to tolerate an opposing view they want a rant fest. They want to regurgitate the snide and sarcastic rhetoric and don't want it challenged because it is so full of holes you can drive a semi throu
  24. I am not sure about peace Pubby, it sometimes seems impossible when it comes to middle eastern countries. Americans don't really understand how they are perceived around the world. In some instances comes off as our way or the highway. Or war. A lot of Americans see our foreign affairs as very simple. The good democracies are on our side. Those not on our side are in the wrong. They will do as we say or face being bombed. Seems reasonable right. We don't realize just how scary we are to the rest of the world when we start pushing a country around then end up in a war. When it comes to dea
  25. The county government needs a PR person. Jamie Gilbert did a really good job at it. He was very good at explaining what the IBA was doing and why. He always gave the pros and cons. He listened to people, he sometimes validated their feelings on various projects. He was always optimistic about the outcome of all the projects. He never worried about the studio failing. He always said it was great building in a great location that would be easy to sell or lease. He did a good job at selling Paulding. It is not easy to sell a county with no expressway and very few buildings suited for manufact
