  1. Top of the page you click the tab that says browse. Just below is forums, click that. You will see internet cafe and a bar at the top right that says start new topic. Click that and a drop down menu will come up. Choose the forum then click outside the box to clear the list and the internet cafe or other forum will show click to continue. I am not sure why you have to click out of the list to set the forum. I have been working on some things like that. We needed to be mobile friendly so that is the reason for the new board. We are learning like everyone else. I opened 2 tabs of Paulding.com to make sure I navigated exactly. You might want to try that the first time. I am working on stream lining the view because there are multiple ways to view the site. If you click on forum you get the list view of what is posted in the forum but not all recent post. If you click recent you get all recent postings in all forums. I want a view list that shows recent topics with all forums showing. If it does not work I am interested in talking by phone to understand what is different in your view so I can fix it.
  2. Should we throw some religion in here for good measure?
  3. Go to the top of the page see the activity tab click it drop it down and see to the left an all activity tab that is your recent topics button. Of course clicking forums gives you the tab on the right to start new topic. It is not as fancy as the old board. But it has some new features especially being mobile friendly that we need.
  4. Investigation finds local DA gave staffer cash, gifts and sexual innuendo PAULDING COUNTY, Ga. - The Georgia Bureau of Investigation confirms it has opened an investigation into a local district attorney accused of sexually harassing a senior member of his staff. Channel 2 investigative reporter Aaron Diamant spent the last two weeks collecting all the pieces for this story. Paulding County District Attorney Dick Donovan's state-appointed lawyer told Diamant they both intend to vigorously defend the allegations. But an investigative report says there is clear and credible evidence to back up the accuser’s claims. The report was written by an attorney Paulding County paid nearly $18,000 in taxpayer money to investigate a sexual harassment complaint against Donovan. Donovan fired back just days later with a 100-plus page denial and a sworn affidavit in which Donovan said, “I am very, very reluctant to characterize it as sexual harassment because. I have never said I wanted to have sex with her, I have never tried to have sex with her.”
  5. My kids want to have a pool party for Labor day. I am just watching for now. I hate hurricanes this time of year. The trees are still in full leaf so a lot get blown down. We just cut some huge trees, it feels good not worry about the biggest ones. Maybe I can talk the kids into a hurricane watch party NOT they come with 7 dogs and 3 cats, we have 6 dogs and 3 cats not gonna happen

  14. People always inspire me to be a better person. I have always worked with the public. I have probably met around 10,000 people in my life. I traveled different states and regions when I was younger. I met many people from other countries and cultures, even religions. I learned that people are all the same. We get the same body parts, instincts and emotions. What sets us apart are experiences. That dictates how our emotions are triggered. I talk to people and I listen, with some folks the more they are with people the less they like them. I love people, I am fascinated by them. We all have bad stuff happen, some feel that those things entitle them to be bitter and angry. Others become more and more compassionate. Some feel victimized, some feel triumph when they get over the tragedies. There are many that after needing help they and receiving it, give back every opportunity. There are others that will always see themselves in need because they can't get on their feet. I have met many that suffered horrid abuse and have an aura that says they have been damaged in some way. Then you see those that perpetuate the abuse to lay claim to not being damaged by it. I have seen cultures and religions that have some cruel aspects that leave you shaking your head. I will always remained befuddled by people killed and mistreated based on their race, religion or skin color. I have most often found my enemy to be the same color and background as myself. What makes me happiest is my compassion for others, the joy I find in the moments and hours that I have meaningful fellowship with them. I have learned not to be a victim of my compassion. I know where to draw the line in the sand that says I can have compassion for you across that wall. I think that we can all disagree, get frustrated, annoyed, angry, whatever without fulfilling the barbaric need to tear a strip of flesh off the other person. I feel shame when I do that and have learned over the years that saying sorry actually makes me feel better, because tearing the strip has never served me well. If all else fails avoidance prevents a useless waste of energy, Positive inner action with people makes me the happiest. I love doing for others.

  16. Three teens arrested in connection with Hiram convenience store robbery Three people, including two teen girls and a teen boy, have been arrested in connection with the armed robbery of a Racetrac convenience store in Hiram early Tuesday, the police chief said today. Hiram Police Chief Jamison Sailors said those charged included "two 16-year-old white females" and John Williams, 18, who lives in Paulding County with a Temple address. Sailors previously said Hiram police were dispatched to a report of an armed robbery in progress at the new RaceTrac store at the corner of U.S. Hwy. 278 and Bill Carruth Parkway Tuesday around 12:15 a.m.
  17. I was in the neighborhood yesterday evening picking up my glasses. It was packed. As we know there is no such thing as a soft opening in Paulding. I hope they were able to live up to expectations with such a huge crowd. I always warned restaurants about that phenomenon here in Paulding county.

  19. UPDATE: Attempted Child Abduction Was False Alarm, Sheriff Says Surveillance footage from a nearby camera showed a white van in the area, similar to what the girl said the man was driving. Authorities were later able to find the man. He was at the time delivering for "a popular package delivery service," the release says. Detectives spoke with the girl, who said she wasn't sure if the man was talking to her or into his cellphone. She was scared, the release says, causing her to run home and talk to her mother. "At this time, due to the inconsistency of the alleged juvenile victim's story combined with the fact that the male delivery driver has been more than cooperative, there will be no charges filed in this case," the release says.
  20. Thank goodness for you relief is in sight!
  21. Same here. I have used the pool more this year than in the last 2 years. When night time temps hit the 60's no more pool for me. As I said the cold makes me unbearably tense. I feel like I am going to break.
  22. Some days it bothers me more than others. I love the warm weather. I find the more time I spend indoors the harder it is to tolerate the really hot humid days. The cold is harder on me physically. The cold makes me stiff and tense. I never sweated much when I was younger, now I sweat more to the point it is annoying at times.
