Lets simplify it, would you be supportive of skill training for those that are not going to cut it or do you think it best that those without secondary school just move straight into minimum wage.
-
That is changing. We all want our kids to get whatever level of education needed to be successful. There are parents out there that know secondary education is not going to happen. I am trying to convey the message that there are other things out there, look for them. We will be seeing more of this in the very near future. I can tell you this that most perspective employers will gladly take raw material with good work ethics and integrity over a 4 year degree that offers up poor work habits. This is why people with college degrees are having a hard time. Many businesses want a more spec

Let me be more specific, not everyone is going to college, in fact that percentage is a lot higher than people think, if you include those that drop out in the first year. I am talking about our community and what we want for our community. We don't won't the entire 75% going into minimum wage jobs and being dependent on the system. this discussion pertains to our Paulding economy. There are ways to change this, communities all over the country are doing this. Georgia is looking at this issue also. Apprenticeships are out there, businesses will do this for hard workers with good ethics.

My daughter went to Paul Mitchell, very expensive, she has worked at upscale salons since graduating, she makes excellent money.

It is just a fact that many are not suited to secondary education. I don't think many of us want our kids to go into minimum wage jobs for life. Your child may be looking into a technical school to learn a trade, but he or she is pretty sure that they are not going to pass English or math any better than they did in high school. After looking into it they decide that it is not going to work for them. Where do they go from there, apprenticeships, trade schools ect One of my children went to an expensive trade school because she was not going to be forced to take more years of classes sh

Yes it does, you lose a small percentage of the muscle you gain when you go off off them but retain a certain amount, it will stay with you unless you have a wasting disease where your body cannibalizes the muscle tissue. Tendons and ligaments actually tend to weaken over time with a steroid users, they do not enjoy the benefits of steroid use that muscles do. Athletes are are plagued with tendon and ligament injuries due to minute tears over many years. Steroids ruin your adrenal system, they change your metabolism many times permanently. We here a lot about superficial appearance issues, s

I have stayed out of the discussion because I feel so passionately about it. I was involved in fitness for many years and this is one of the reasons I got out of it. What makes this immoral are endorsements. These athletes always endorse things that they claim enhances their performance, legal and safe things. My industry is one of the best examples out there, I have seen this effect young people over and over and even adults. I can look at a weight lifter and tell if he or she has ever done steroids. These people are paid millions for articles to share their routines, diets, supple

The article is actually from the Kaiser foundation. If you want or need real stats about anything to do with healthcare they have them. The feds use a lot of their info in making healthcare decisions, they practically authored the healthcare reform bill. While medical insurance companies may not be able to discriminate based on your genetics, life insurance companies are not prohibited from doing it. People who have parents or they themselves are being diagnosed with cancer have been ask to donate genetic material and the results are sometimes published. I relate because my son has a rar

Age discrimination is just one of the business model changes we will be seeing in the future. Some will be good, some will be bad. Automation will soon be replacing many people. We will end up needing fewer people in the work force. The only thing I can show as an example is the Roman Empire, because they had conquered so many countries and slaves performed all the labor they had to find something to occupy the legal citizens of the empire. They provided games and public baths. We certainly will not have our slaves rebel against us because they will be machines. At some point we will have to

I am going to show my redneck roots, I love most organ meat when prepared right, but my gall bladder hates it. I don't touch it now. I never had beef tongue until my 20's served by my German immigrant in laws. I loved it, served on saltines. You know a real redneck when they will eat anything on saltines if it is served with a beer

Glad to see you you back, so many love your work. -
It is not just p.com, we are just up close and personal. It was not long ago that I took it personally. Now everything on the internet has remarks and discussions people are like this everywhere. Facebook it the same photoshops that are opinionated inviting people to go along to get along or have a knock down drag out about the content. People are paying big bucks for drama. We had better drama way back when now the content is common, regurgitation of the rich and famous spinners. Baby momma in retrospect was at lest a little more fun. the world was not coming to an end over a little financial

They are fine, just not my first choice when it comes to my news source. I actually try to read multiple sources. Riding in the car for long periods if I have a choice between NPR and WSB, it is NPR hands down. I know that ehy have a huge following with educators. That's odd. I find fox to be an excellent appetite suppressant. At least I won't rot my teeth by purging.
-
I have occasionally listened on the radio, I am extremely particular about editorials, I only indulge with those I respect. NPR, Fox and anyone on WSB Talk radio are a no no for me.They all embrace extreme prejudice. Cabin fever longer days that increase our natural, seasonal energy boost. In other words the kids have way too much energy to be stuck inside.

Right there with you sister, a whiff of root bear will kill my appetite also.

I want to go on record with our members my feelings about our discussions on this board. I love discussion, I did not say debate, debate is different, it is about winning or losing. In a community creating losers is never a good thing, we always have losers in life, but this message board is not about a competition, This board is about community and discussing, it should be neutral, no winners no losers. When I start a thread, I am never inviting a debate or competition. I am genuinely interested in a discussion with people that I cherish because they are here and contributing. Unfortuna

Kiwi fruit, I find everything about the way it looks unappetizing. I put a few slices on my fruit plate, saved for last got one down it tasted fine. Looked at the rest and thought to myself it does not taste good enough to do it again. I know it makes no sense, I simply dislike the way they look.

I hope nobody panics, tomorrow morning will be the time to be cautious, I hate black ice.

It's all a joke, just a way to tax gun owners. my husband explained that there is a crystal ball that said the day they are all registered Obama is going to sign an executive order to have the military come in and take them from us. I think in protest we should all refuse to register and background check. All we have to do is find one person to pass a back ground check we give him money he buys them then comes back to the hood and hands them out.

Dr.Mayfield is an excellent doctor, she is the only local physician I will take my son to. She was an emergency room doc for many years, she is good at evaluating the condition of a patient.

The Pork loin was awesome, juicy and you could cut it with a knife. The potatoes and butter beans were perfect sides for this.

I grew up much like the majority here in Paulding, rural self sufficient. We always had firearms for protection from animals and people, LE was more than 20 min away at all times. It is pretty basic to want to protect oneself. I tried to follow the logic of the majority. Test, registration, license will not prevent law abiding citizens from arming and protecting themselves. Most people feel strongly about protecting themselves from the Government. Lets take this logic a step at a time. Think about your local government, politicians, employees and LE. You have state level the same, then f
