I have no idea, I talked some kids into letting me care for it. They said they found it in the bushes alone. They were in love with the kitten, I was not sure that they would leave it alone for the mom to take care of it if I instructed them to return it. They did not seem to realize how much danger this kitten was in without it's momma. I have promised to return it to the children when it is ready, if their parents want to care for it. The kids said it had been abandoned.

http://www.reuters.com/article/2013/07/14/us-italy-minister-racism-idUSBRE96D0BO20130714 As I have said before I believe racism is instinctive in the human race. I also believe that we should strive to evolve away from it. I don't believe this lawmaker has evolved much.. Roberto Calderoli, vice president of Italy's Senate, said on Saturday at a political rally in the northern town of Treviglio: "I love animals - bears and wolves, as everyone knows - but when I see the pictures of Kyenge I cannot but think of, even if I'm not saying she is one, the features of an orangutan." Walmart Threatens To Pull Out Of D.C. Over 'Living Wage'
LPPT replied to michaelsudan's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Minimum living conditions for these people come out of my pocket. We don't have enough affordable shelter in this country for 40% of the working class. How do you suggest we fix that? So we are going to somehow get these people to get more education and ambition and 40% of our economy will have no workers, then what happens. I will tell you what happens they are going to have to offer a living wage if they want people to work for them. Of course it did not work that way during the recession now did it? They have plenty of well educated and skilled people working for them. -
I thought that the DA and LE were reluctant to bring charges. They only did it due to pressure.

I think it was self defense in the strictest sense of the word. There is no doubt that Zimmerman was the instigator and at fault for the situation. I can only hope that this sets an example for those out there that think about becoming a vigilante.

Walmart Threatens To Pull Out Of D.C. Over 'Living Wage'

Who are these people??? They need to cut the income requirement then. This is the deal places like Walmart and every other retail outlet selling food wants them to collect the food stamps and spend them. Like I said if you run a grocery and you pay your employees a low enough wage to collect food stamps then you are getting free labor. As far as going after those that you feel are getting too much that will be almost impossible. First of all you have no way of knowing if their situation is temporary. Many people have fallen very far during the recession, they may have had those thi -

When your employees are on gov. assistance it is not profit, it is ill gotten gains Many many companies start out small and as they grow they increase the salaries of their workers they still make profit but they have figured their profit after the employees are paid at a certain rate. Walmart and the other stores and restaurant use a business model that relies on their employees making poverty wages, it's that simple. It is a business model that rapes this country. -
It has it's eyes open and is wobbling around. I have been bottle feeding it every few hours. I am sure that we will work into a better schedule as it gets use to it. It drinks about 4-5 drops then refuses. I am not sure if I still need to stimulate it to go potty, I am trying after every feeding but no results yet. If you have some idea about the amount of milk and how much waste I would appreciate it.

Walmart Threatens To Pull Out Of D.C. Over 'Living Wage'

You know I had noticed over the last 20 years ago that percentage points have a way of making things ethical and moral. When this business model becomes 50% of our economy people will say that is because only 50% of our work force is skilled. This business model is highly profitable by design, it will continue to increase. I am not sure just how far people will let this go. Just because someone has enough money to lobby for laws that favor their industry does not make it ethical or moral. There is always a heavy price to be paid for unethical and immoral behavior. We are all on this ship tog -

I am not surprised, water use has to be way down due to the rain. Operating cost are the same whether we use a lot watering gardens and filling pools. Our electricity and water use is a third less this year because of the cool temps and rain. I wonder if we will have a utility increase to make up for the low use this summer.

Walmart Threatens To Pull Out Of D.C. Over 'Living Wage'

Supposedly our economy does not work unless 40% of it are people working at the poverty level? Is that some kind of natural law like gravity? Written in stone? In the bible somewhere? You have people working, most of those people want to work full time. They work hard too because I have watched them. Corporate America becomes richer and richer because it devalues labor and puts that money into the pockets of it's CEO' and top executives. Many of this people would not go without a single thing if they brought up the wage of these workers. I am middle class the problems they cause I pay for, -
Walmart Threatens To Pull Out Of D.C. Over 'Living Wage'
LPPT replied to michaelsudan's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I agree with much of what you said. The middle class does not have that much trouble with covering the basics if they buy dwellings and automobiles with in their means. They won't stop shopping at Walmart if everything there goes up 5% to cover the cost of better wages. Nor will they stop eating out. On the other hand our taxes float the boat. There is no reason to have to increase the middle class pay check to meet the cost of living for us. On the other hand the tax break from not covering the 40% working poor will easily cover the raise in price of goods from these businesses. I beli -
Does Paulding County really need an Ampitheater?

I would rather see a conference center and hotel for the money. A conference center can be built to hold small concerts. I would like to see it built across from the new hospital. We need to start talking to large hotel chains, have them purchase the land, sell a portion of it for pennies on the dollar to the county to build the civic center. The hospital would provide some steady room rental, you could also hold medical conferences there. It is just down the street from the movie studio and they need not only hotels for staff, but the types of rooms top executives and stars want to -

The definition of working poor are those working for a living yet their income does not cover the bare minimum to survive. We forget that most of those working go beyond food and shelter, they also have transportation needs. 10 years ago many of these people were above the poverty line. What is horrifying is that anybody can become the working poor, these people simply made wages that can not meet the cost of living. The number one cause of bankruptcy in this country is medical bankruptcy. I care very very much about the working poor. I constantly worry if gas goes up another .50 how ma -
Walmart Threatens To Pull Out Of D.C. Over 'Living Wage'
LPPT replied to michaelsudan's topic in RECENT TOPICS
The city council in essence is government. Walmart wins at my expense not the Government's expense, because it is part of my money. So we are back to square one, corporate welfare is more palatable then welfare for those 40% of working poor. We rail against people that are supplementing their income with welfare and on the other end we have no issue with it supplementing the profit of a business. Neither one of them should be profiting from taxes. I don't consider Walmart one bit better than the generational welfare family. -

http://www.eatdrinkpolitics.com/2012/06/12/farm-bill-jackpot-how-much-do-corporations-benefit-from-snap/ Farm Bill Jackpot – How Much do Corporations Benefit from SNAP? Powerful food industry lobbying groups such as the American Beverage Association and the Snack Food Association teamed up to oppose health-oriented improvements to SNAP, at times working with anti-hunger groups At least nine states have proposed bills to make health-oriented improvements to SNAP, but none have passed, in part due to opposition from the food industry In one year, nine Walmart Supercenter -

You don't think that their employees don't spend their money there? Bigger question is do you think that Walmart would not do that? -
http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2013/07/11/house-passes-stripped-down-farm-bill/2510185/ WASHINGTON -- House lawmakers approved a scaled-back version of the farm bill Thursday after stripping out the popular food-stamp program used by 48 million Americans. The bill narrowly passed on a 216-208 vote, largely along party lines. A dozen Republicans voted against the measure while no Democrats voted in favor. The measure focuses solely on farm programs and would delay, at least for now, efforts to overhaul the country's food-stamp program that traditionally has made u

Walmart may have a formula they use to decide where to put the store. They know what the poverty level is in the location, they work their employees at the right level to allow them to still collect food stamps. They offer an employee discount to encourage them to spend the food stamps there. I imagine the amount of food stamps is very close to the employees monthly wages. Walmart ends up with free labor courtesy of you and I. Being forced to raise the wage may hurt their little scheme. -
Sounds perfect to me, I don't have any plans so far. I will pm you my number.
