  1. I posted this because of the people on here and how they are always out raged about how kids in school have things handed to them and parents do nothing. Or how parents raise hell that there child didn't get this or that when they should have, when really they shouldn't have. Well, here is a parent that didn't believe her child didn't deserve to be on the honor roll and said so, and took it to the press. I say, good for the MOM!
  2. A Florida principal agreed today with a mother who was angry that her son made the honor roll despite having a C and a D on his report card. Principal Kim Anderson of Pasco Middle School in Dade City, Fla., was siding with Beth Tillack who was upset that her seventh grade son Douglas was on the honor roll and his report card came with a teacher's comment, "good job" and a smiley face. The principal said that 45 percent to 50 percent of the school's students are on the honor roll. She said it was a "difficult situation" and that Beth Tillack was justified in questioning policies surroun
  3. He said that his female company was having a diabetic episode and was trying to tend to her, hence his driving on the lake and hitting the pontoon and leaving the scene. Then he said that he came back and tried to help find the other boy.
  4. No, I didn't.... I was just thanking you for being an understanding boss.
  5. Exactly, it seems like no one cares about young children. Especially the law!
  6. A jury in Hall County has found a man not guilty of homicide by vessel in a boating collision that killed two young brothers. Paul Bennett was, however, found guilty on several charges boating under the influence when he collided with a pontoon boat on Lake Lanier on June 18, 2012. Jake and Griffin Prince, ages 9 and 13, died in the crash. Bennett was also found guilty of reckless boating and failing to render aid. Hall County District Attorney Lee Darragh cited results of an alcohol breath test taken hours after the collision, which showed a .14, well above the .08 legal li

  11. Town Centre, or walk from store to store in Hiram. Start at Ross and work your way down. By the time you go into each store and looking at things, you had your walk in.
  12. This past Sunday afternoon, just six days after Kim "the Kimmer" Peterson started his new show on All News 106.7, he said he felt a "gripping pain" in his chest and broke into sweats while driving. He pulled over, rested, then continued home. Despite continued discomfort, the 63-year-old Marine vet worked yesterday on Veteran's Day. But the pain didn't totally go away. So he finally decided to check into the North Fulton Hospital in Alpharetta this morning and discovered he had what doctors termed a "serious heart attack." Rest of the story here: My link
  13. The Publix on East Paulding today was a little bit interesting today while I was shopping. There was a man that approached a women there and said he was security for Publix, which Publix doesn't have security. She reported it, to Customer Service and the tapes are going to be pulled to find out who the man is. It happened around the bread/frozen isle. So ladies, please stay alert when shopping at Publix in New Hope. We don't know yet what this guy is up too. BUT, I will say this, when I went by the bread/frozen isle, (I was going to the Cheese isle) the lady left her cart at the to
  14. I know, that is what I'm used to calling these roads, 381, 380, 92, 41, 120... It took me a minute and rereading her post twice to figure out what she was saying. I'm glad someone was able to answer her.

  16. Hundreds of strangers refused to let a WWII veteran leave the world alone. Harold Jellicoe Percival died in a nursing home last month at age 99. But he never married and had no children. Funeral directors feared his service would be empty. So, they placed an ad in a local newspaper. The story spread on social media, and Monday, uniformed veterans, serving members of the armed forces and more showed up in droves. Rest of story and video here: My link

  18. Now you have to help me....What trailer park? I don't recall one around here. EDIT: OH, DUH!!! You are talking about 92? Hiram/Acworth Hwy? I was thinking Dallas/Acworth...Sorry!!! Now I know where you are talking about. And no, I don't have an answer for you....But I do know what part place at one time you are speaking of.
  19. That's a Battery place now, it use to be a Cabinet place. That's if it's what you are talking about. Because the only thing across from East Paulding is Walgrens. And then on East Paulding is Publix shopping Center and there is an Auto Parts Store in there, and then Rite Aid is across from Publix.
  20. After 37 years there, they want to move to Cobb, that have more restaurants and bars where Turner field didn't, and they want to have a new development where the Turner Field is. They also feel it will be easier to come and go from the new field. Where as the people of Cobb say, it's all ready congested bad, and it will make it worse, they don't want it there. People are very upset that they are thinking of moving. No one knew about this until today, they kept it very hush hush. Elected Officials didn't know about this. It's on the news now and then again at 6.
  21. Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed told Channel 2 Action News that the Atlanta Braves relocation to Cobb County is not a done deal. Channel 2 anchor Justin Farmer was the only television reporter to speak directly with the mayor following the announcement. The Braves announced Monday morning they will be building a new stadium at Circle 75 and Windy Ridge Parkway, northwest of the Interstate 75 and Interstate 285 interchange. Reed told Farmer that the property in Cobb County has been identified as a potential site by the Braves, but as not been purchased. Rest of story here:My lin
