  1. Ok ... Ok ... sorry I even brought up the subject. If it pisses you off so much, then why post anything. Just let the thread die. Obviously ... you know it is the most crucial decision that Paulding County is faced with. I have been a PC citizen for several years and have two children in the school system. So yes ... I have a say. You may not like what I have to say but that is the beauty of living in America. We all have the "freedom of speech".

YOU LIED!!!! AND I STUCK UP FOR YOU AT FIRST. THERE FOR YOU LOST ALL CREDITIBILITY!!

AND WATCH YOUR LANGUAGE. IT JUST IRKS ME THAT YOU TRIED TO PLAY ME/SOME. DON'T MESS WITH THE FAMILY!

TO BAD YOU DON'T HAVE THE ^&%$#(*&&% TO COME OUT WITH YOUR REAL NAME/OR WHAT YOU REALLY POST UNDER. YOU CAME ON HERE TO START DRAMA, YOU KNEW WHAT YOU WERE DOING.

Sorry Icon ... didnt mean to offend. I had a family memeber transported by Clark ambulance and have no complaint. One of their employees told me that. I am new to Paulding and someone told me this was the forum to get some REAL answers!

HE IS WATCHING YOU AS YOU LIE!! START PRAYING FOR FORGIVENESS.

  2. So, I have to say ... I have been really intrigued by this thread. Initially it was thought that this post had an alterior motive ... now it seems to have drawn some very interesting conversation. Because of that, I have been doing alot of "investigating". I am just that way I guess. Now, I am no Inspector Gadget ... but I do know a little about private investigation. I was in that field for many years. So here is how I see it from an outsider looking in:

Sam Clark has been a long standing pillar in the Paulding Community. He has gained alot of support through his many business adventures. He has alot of friends and supporters and a lot of enemies. A man with that diverse portfolio is sure to be missed interpreted and judge (often falsely). I see Sam Clark as being a man with a huge heart but little business sense. He has done the best he can do for many years but now the time has come for change.

There is Paulding County ... a community that is growing expodentially with alot of economic prowless. What used to be considered a "red-neck" nation ... now is becoming the premiere county in the state. A new hospital is coming soon and it has its own airport! Looks like all the makings of a new metropolis to me. That is what attracted me here in the first place.

Now ... enter the governing authority. The illustrious Board of Commissioners. From what I have been able to gather, you have a relatively new guy with great aspirations and a genuine "good" heart, then you have the "outcast" that has honorable intentions but has not been indoctrinized into the "clan". Then you have the guy that represents well and talks the talk but questionable as to walking the walk. Next you have the "rat". Plan and simple he can not be trusted.... would lie to your face and be in the front pue of church on Sunday morning. Finanlly, as in most examples of our nations government structure, you have the leader who is self serving, contentious and down right arrogant. He would sell his soul to the devil to make a buck. How can anyone win when you have that type of leadership.

Mr. Clark, you should hold your head up high and know that you have done the best you could. You must take responsibility for the things you have control over, but know there are those who geniunely appreciate your service to the community. Your legacy will live on and that can never be taken from you.

THE CHALLENGE: Who will continue the legacy Sam Clark has started. On one side you have a gentle giant that has established itself as an honorable company with years of integrity and professionalism. On the other, you have a mega company well established as an industry leader with lots of financial baking and political "connections". Who is the best fit for Paulding? If you leave it up to your Board of Commissioners you can see the writing on the wall. However, you do have a voice. As a citizen of Paulding and the ones who elected those count officials ... you have a say and need to be heard! There are many in the political arena that do not want this issue to be heard. The choice is yours ... be silent and take what the government gives you ... or speak up and be heard. The next commisiioners meeting is scheduled for September 24th. The work session is at 10 AM with the official meeting at 7 PM. Get on the agenda to have your voice heard.

You had me at hello, now you have me at "can't bullcheeze a bullcheezeer" and we have lot's of those on here. Another words, we see inside your crystal ball, and we don't like what we are starting to see. Our stronger posters might have skipped or backed off from this thread....They have self restraint...Me, not so much, to blunt. But, not quiet enough to say, what might be on some minds. But, I could be wrong.

You see, I might not get along with all the people on here, but they are my people, my distant (way off the moon distant) family, and I don't like for them to be played, even thou, I'm sure some of them, caught on before I did. This topic has been ran into the ground, beaten by the horse, worn out, and any other saying you can think of....So, we can stop now, or we can wait for you, or another person to visit in another 6 months or so.

So, I might owe TBIRD an apology, he/she might have been right all along. This time, said person might have used more couth!

Now, on the other side of my face......WE STILL ON THIS???

  3. It is an important topic and there is something going on. For instance, Puckett hosted the Chamber Public Service luncheon. I had been fed some rumors several months ago regarding Clarks future and ... in regard to Clark's future in Paulding, it is relatively well known that he's become crossways with the Austin brothers (Commission Chair and Dallas Mayor.) If memory serves, Sam backed the person challenging David Austin in the 2012 primary ... and David won re-election.

I figure the reason that Sam backed Austin's opponent is that Austin had probably told Sam that his days were numbered so Sam had little to lose.

The county, which had gone through some tough times financially cutting budgets, etc. had a legacy deal with Clark's ambulance that provided it assistance and the long and short was the county was unhappy about that and sought to curtail the subsidy.

To Sam's credit, the deal he did with the county was, what the Chinese would call, inscrutable and difficult to decipher. He and the county have been going round and round literally for years.

The local politicians, because they typically provide a subsidy to the private ambulance service, like to control the money they spend and prefer to spend it with their friends as a general rule. For instance, we know that there was an effort to separate Sam from the service during the eight years of the Shearin administration. Now we're in the sixth year of an Austin administration and predictably, there is another effort to move that chunk of county business to a 'friend' as opposed to the guy who's been doing it. To start an analogy, there was a political card game then and Sam won.

Heck, the ambulance service before Clark's was solid as could be until there was a federal case involving improper charges to medicare or medicaid that cost them the business and opened the door for Clarks.

Bottom line ... it is difficult to fight city hall and politics has always been a case of rewarding friends and punishing 'enemies.'

Now I've known Sam for decades and we've talked off the record ... must be eight to ten months ago and he acknowledged there was a conflict but he didn't want to talk about it publicly.

I assured him if he wanted to go on the record he could call on me. He hasn't called so I figure he is negotiating as best he can and more conversation about it may be hurtful to his position.

I've also heard - second hand of course - about the Metro involvement with Clarks ambulance but really can't confirm it or deny it.

I do sense that the local powers that be are leaning toward Puckett's (as opposed to Metro) and lacking a criminal investigation - yes there was a rumor - Clarks or Clarks+Metro do have the region one assignment for Paulding. The decision of which company has the assignment is lodged in the Dept. Health region out of Rome and the commissioner and Mayor are not the direct decision makers.

What you're hearing about are behind the scenes reports by people who may or may not have the complete story. I certainly don't have the complete story and I don't know that any one of the protagonists in this drama actually have the complete story. However, the real danger is you might confuse the real story with the story coming from one side or another and in fact, there may be three sides in play.

It may help to think of this as a game of seven card stud. The business is the pot and all the players would like to win the pot. The last card may have been played face down and the betting is getting intense even though the cards showing don't appear to be winning hands - none of them.

And, to top it off, none of the players are sharing their hole cards with us bystanders.

All we know is that they would all like the opportunity to serve the people of Paulding. They've been dealt a hand; they're playing the hand dealt and one will win. That's the way I see it, anyway.

And that would be Benson and correct what I wrote in a previous post. I knew he had an ambulance service back in the 80's but wasn't sure if he did now, since I don't pay attention on whom has one and who doesn't. Well, other than Clark. I do however, remember the medicare/medicaid situation. But I lived in another State at the time when all that went down.

  4. I have no idea, I just know normally if I hear things from an employee or third party/message board I would probably believe the employee. P.com is like the Enquirer, a hint of truth is there but expect the story to come out like the whisper game where it changes a little each time it's told! laugh.gifOh and welcome to p.com, watch our for the crazy ones like Lucky. bomb.gifrofl.gif

Yes, crazy enough for life, and crazy enough to live it!

  5. Well... if they do close then will the county have the responsibility for running the ambulances? I hear that Sam Clark has been a well respected member of the community and I have no reason to believe he is not. I know that in the county where I moved from, they were responsible for running the ambulances. I guess that could be the case here.

Basically, the most important thing here is, you know who will show up in case of an emergency. Pucketts, Bensons (I don't know if they are still running thou), Clark (as they are still running), and the other one that someone mentioned. So, the bottom line right now is, we don't know if or when Clark is closing down the part of his ambulance service. So, I guess, your question has been answered. Have a wonderful night! :)

  6. Sorry Icon ... didnt mean to offend. I had a family memeber transported by Clark ambulance and have no complaint. One of their employees told me that. I am new to Paulding and someone told me this was the forum to get some REAL answers!

Welcome Steelhorse, I'm unable to answer your question, but others where able to. On another note, you can find news about Paulding here, weather, and new from all over here. There are a bunch of good people on here that would love to help you get around and learn the board.

  7. Just seems a little odd to be the first post and it be almost a trouble making post. Since the last guy that was posting all the trash about Clark's got ragged on so much, would not surprise me at all for him to change his name or have a buddy start it all over again.

If the post was not meant to stir trouble, I sincerely apologize.

If it is meant to stir the pot--then shame on them.

Just be the better person and give the benefit of the doubt. We (and what I mean by that, the people on this board) won't fall for it, if that is the case and it turns out to be. We'll just ignore this thread.

In the mean time, just welcome a new poster and just answer the question to the best of our ability. PEACE!

EDIT: "All ready" is the proper use!!!

Lucky, I like your spirit! Fight first and grammar second. You are hereby promoted to Private First (or last) Class.

Keep it up and you will be a Sgt. by the time the shooting starts!

Well, thank you very much!!!! But, I won't be there for the shooting. I'm a yankee and I will probably be the first to go. LMBO!!!!

  9. I hope they find her and soon. Prayers to the people that were riding the motorcycles and their families.

However, I do have a question, I just want to understand this. How does a passanger get arrested for what a driver has done? I know they are husband and wife from reading the posts and the wife was driving. So, why did they arrest the husband for being drunk and he was on the passenger side? Even tho, I don't have a problem in the world with the officers doing so!

  10. Okay - being former fire and rescue - let's look at this - it takes about 3 minutes on average from the time the call is initiated to the time the call is put out over the radio. Then, it takes, on average about 1 1/2 minutes for the station to get on the trucks and get them rolling. Maybe a little less here because they usually roll a rescue squad and not a full truck. So, that's 5 1/2 minutes IF they are sitting in the station. And, given where the station is - I would expect a 3-5 minute response time (Mt. Tabor Church Rd station). Again - IF they were in sitting in the station. What we don't know (and Lucky64 - if you can tell us what station number was on the truck that would be helpful) is 1. did the trucks come from the mt. tabor church road station - were they at the station or where they coming from another location; or 2. did another station respond because the mt. tabor church road station was busy?

As for LEO - that's common. I ran a couple of accidents that we had patients packaged and loaded - off to the ER, vehicle secured and loading on the tow truck before LEO even showed up. And again - you don't know where they were coming from. Rarely is LEO sitting at the station waiting for a call to come out.

I'm sorry, I was to far from the the truck to see the number, but if it helps, it came from Dallas-Acworth side and not Mt. Tabor down Bobo Road. Only sirens we heard came from the EMT/small red truck and cop cars. Didn't hear any fire truck sirens. Matter of fact when I was talking to the lady I didn't even noticed they showed up until I looked over and saw them spraying the semi, that's how quiet they were. The fire started on the floor board and the driver tried to put it out but it only angered it. Meaning, it was in full force just about under the hood.

  11. You know I was wondering if it was you who was there and in the know. LOL

I had to get my daughter from school and then run a quick errand and was coming down Bobo and came upon the semi on fire just as the neighbor was running into her house to call 911. My daughter was videoing the whole thing. While she was doing that, I was comforting the wife while her husband was talking on the phone.
