  1. Sony Vio. Best Buy or Circuit City. Windows Vista operating system, but you have to buy the "Office Works" Suite separately. Be prepared: it was more expensive than we had thought going in. For printer/scanner, computer, software, etc. cost was approximately $1800. We are in a blended family situation, and my "son's" mom really did a lot of research. I think she went to 7 or 8 places, looked online, etc. We were all a little shocked at how much it was to get him everything that he would really need for the next 4 - 5 years.

Good luck sending her off to school. It is truly a strange adjustment! :(

  2. Circmunstances are different for everyone. Our 2 oldest got cell phones when they turned 16 & started driving. Our 3rd child got his when he graduated 8th grade because he plays soccer and his practices & games were constantly changing. Our 4th (and final) child got hers when she was 13 because she also plays sports and we were having the same issues. When our last child got her phone we cancelled our land line. All of our children have to pay for any overages on minutes or text messages themselves. If they don't have the money at the time, the phone goes away until they do. We have been very blessed that each of them take the responsibility seriously, and do not abuse the privilege of having the phones.

  3. Take 92 (Dallas/Acworth Hwy.) North to Hwy. 41. Go South on Hwy. 41 to Acworth Due West. There will be a McDonalds on the left at the intersection. Go straight through the stop sign, even though the road name changes to Nance Rd. The park will be right in front of you when you get to the red light at Old 41.

    Good luck!

  4. My brother also had one this year (February) in Cobb County.

He hired an attorney, which probably saved his license, but as for the rest:

$1100 fine, alcohol assessment & counseling, probation for 1 year, community service.

One thing that my brother did that the judge said made an impact was to go ahead and start community service, do the DUI school and the assessment.

  5. The one in the Target shopping center is good. Very clean, but you wil pay a little more. I have heard good things about the shop in Hiram in front of that Target. In the little strip shops where Johnny's Pizza is.

  6. Cobb Pediatrics - Dr. Clark Cantrell and all of the staff are great!

They have an office on Dallas Highway at Lost Mountain, one by Cobb Hospital and another at Dallas Highway & East-West Connector.

  7. I have been divorced, I initiated, and life is much better.

We were high school sweethearts. We were married for 7 years and have a wonderful son - who is now almost 15. We just wanted different things out of life as we got older. My ex is very materialistic. I want nice things, but they aren't what drive me.

I am now married to a wonderful man - 6 1/2 years. I also gained wonderful stepchildren!

  8. West Ridge Church. We have been going there for a little over 2 years. Absolutely love it. We have 3 teenagers and they love going to church. They have great programs for young kids all the way through high school.

  9. I did get a return phone call from Mr. Kuss. He was very pleasant - not defensive - and listened to my concerns. I feel certain after speaking with him that he & the rest of the administration do everything possible on a daily basis to make EPHS a safe environment for our children.

  10. I just called the school and was told that in order for them to schedule a public meeting, they have to be given permission by the BOE! The secretary said that Mr. Kuss is willing to meet with all parents individually who would like to meet with him. She sounded a little surprised when I told her that yes, I would like to meet with Mr. Kuss individually. They will "try" to get back with me as soon as possible and set up an appointment.
