  6. Good thing i am not a police officer, i would have to think twice about going there if called...... infact I would probably drive right on by and toot the horn... sounds mean I know..... but it is what it is...... people want their cake and eat it to...
  7. state would need to buy property from the home owners, for tractor trailers to make it on the roundabouts, yes they can do it, but it is sometimes hard for those big trucks to make that circle... if the roundabout is not done right and made narrow. we have came across several while out riding, and traffic seems to move pretty good on them.... but i have never actually seen a tractor trailer make the turns.... it would be interesting... we were by there last week, and no one was working....

  9. makes me wonder if he needed a police officer what would he do? An Atlanta gym owner is defending his policy of not allowing police officers or military personnel to join his gym. A sign recently posted on the door of EAV Barbell Club in East Atlanta Village read "No Cops." Gym owner Jim Chambers says police intimidate his clientele, which he calls mostly minority. He does not allow active military personnel either. According to the gym's website, the gym is radically aligned and left-friendly: "We require no one to agree with any set of politics, but if you are hostile to th
  10. I have a feeling Rose's store area will start booming pretty soon, when the new corner store is finished, and the roundabout is finished.
  11. Paulding school board members Tuesday voted to keep the funding produced by rising property assessments and approved keeping its current property tax rate intact for 2018. Board members voted 6-1 to keep the current property tax rate of 18.879 mills in place to fund its 2018 budget. At-large member Jeff Fuller was the only vote against approval. The new tax rate is forecast to produce 9.5 percent more in revenue — about $6.1 million — than the same rate produced in 2017 because of increasing property assessments. Property taxes make up the majority of the local revenues funding the schools
  12. As many of you know, Paulding County residents voted in 2016 to build a new jail. Approaching a year later, where are we with that new jail? Today I spoke with Sheriff Gary Gulledge to get an update on the new jail, as well as some recent promotions within the Sheriff’s Office. The current Paulding County Jail was built in 1989, and was, according to Gulledge, designed to last for about 10 years. “When I was elected Sheriff, the jail was over capacity” states Gulledge. At present capacity issues are being managed through a court supervised pre-release system utilizing ankle monitors.
  13. Paulding residents took a multi-million-dollar step closer to having their own water system last week. The Paulding County Board of Commissioners last week approved the part of a new county water system that will move treated water from a new treatment plant adjacent to Richland Creek Reservoir to county customers’ homes. Commissioners approved a $24.5 million contract with the low bidder, Kansas City, Missouri-based Garney Construction Co., to build the first phase of the Richland Creek Water Supply Program Finished Water Transmission Main project. Garney will build 11 miles of p
  14. Today the Paulding BOC voted in a 3-2 split decision to increase property taxes in Paulding County. Property assessments countywide increased as tax assessments went out, and the millage rate was increased from 6.188 – 6.5. Vernon Collett and Tony Crowe voted to oppose the tax hike, while Ron Davis, Todd Pownall and Dave Carmichael voted in favor of the increase. In the true interest of fairness, I will post responses from all BOC members who gave them to me here in their entirety. Ron Davis: (Yea) “There are recurring costs the county incurs that I am not willing to pay f
  15. this ^^^^ is what i was saying....... the truck could have been used for other fires not just at the airport
  16. if by chance the airport goes commercial, the county will have to buy another firetruck... so i guess they plan on it NOT going commercial
  17. very sad.... he had been sick for a long time, and I love the last song he wrote about his illness
  18. my husband is a diabetic, he has to take insulin, and loads of meds.... i know the struggle is real.... i watch him all the time dealing with it... good luck finding a doctor
  19. this was my point... if in the future the airport is used for commercial, then another firetruck would have to be purchased, for insurance purposes, and safety issues correct? and if there are small planes flying in and out of there shouldn't there be a firetruck there for those planes? is there fuel there at the airport? i mean there are several reasons to keep the firetruck just in case it is needed... to fight fuel fires... that may happen and the truck could be used in more places then airport correct? since it is a foam firetruck, wouldn't it come in handy for gas station fire
  20. Thank you, i kinda thought that was it but was not sure, so the planes that are going in and out of airport now (which I know are few and far between) if one of those had to have use for the truck what would happen if there was not a truck there to use? what about insurance with no truck wouldn't insurance cost more with no truck? I guess someone plans on shutting the airport down completely if they are thinking of selling off items that are needed for the airport. it seems like one of those trucks are a *must* for any airport, commercial or not.
  21. yes it is horrible in that area, and yes a roundabout is suppose to go there... not sure why they did not go ahead and do it instead of putting that turning lane in to turn right on hwy 61 i agree a red light would be better, since that is a state road and traveled by many 18 wheelers, it will have to be a pretty big roundabout for those trucks to make the turns roses is suppose to get a roundabout a light would be better unless the *destruction-construction crew*does it that did the light at 61/nebo
