It's just how I chose to look at it. When I have seen the following... Year 1 +5% year 2 +5% year 3 +7% year 4 +5% year 5 +6% year 6 +5.5% year 7 +4.5% year 8 +6% year 9 +5% year 10 +5% year 11 +2.2% the 2.2% FEELS like a decrease and is a decrease to the budget I had planned for my family in 2013. I was just attempting to point out Obamacare isn't the cause of the increases and despite all the fear mongering about how it was going to raise rates through the roof it hasn't. ...but you are part of the problem. As am I. I fear havin Obama so much for another four years I'm going to vote for a douce bag I can't stand. There are MANY that do this and it is why we will never break this cycle. I wish their was a viable third party but the fact is, this year more then others for some reason, there isn't...and never will be because of folks like us. I hat the current edition of the repubs. They are as against the avg. man as the dems but folks don't seem to see it because they prefer to get trucked in that hole vs. the other that the dems have been using.

Using historic events as an indicator of the future the increase would have occured with or without Obamacare.

I would NEVER put 5K in a flex account even if I could. Sounds like your deductables etc are a lot higher then mine as I could never come close to spending that much out of pocket. I made the mistake of putting 2500 in this year and need to buy a some extra contacts and eye glasses just to avoid losing that money. I understand you'll don't like my way of looking at this, thats fine. The point still stands that ObamaCare is not the reason you are all seeing these increases, has little to do with Obamacare and more to do with the cost of business....but no one will fess up to that.

All I know is I have an extra 100 bucks a month that I wasn't planning on for my budget. Take from that what you will. The point is Obamacare didn't cost me a dime, unlike all you folks that want to scream that it is raising rates. I'm still not voting for him. I guess I look at my bottom line and have a more positive attitude. Do your clients know with 100% certanity you are going to raise your rates 5%? If so that 2.2% is sure going to seem like a decrease. I think that is what folks are missing. The 5% has been a guarentee for the last 10 years. Just like death and taxes. So YES to see a muchs smaller amount then I was planning on sure feels like a decrease to me.

Ok, for those that can't grasp this let me do it another way. I may have some of the terms wrong by MAYBE the idea will sink through. Say you have a loan that is tiered. The first X amount of years you pay 2%, the next 5% and then 10%. YOU KNOW you will see the increase. If the bank turns around and says OH, by the way, that 10% is now 5% do you not consider that a decrease to your expenditures?

It's a decrease. You have no choice but to buy groceries. You budget for the increase accordingly. When that increase doesn't happen the money goes back into your budget. It all depends on how "expected" it is. In my case the heatlh care increase has been 5-7% EVERY YEAR for 10 years. To see it go to 2.2% it is most defiently a decrease.

Actually no it wouldn't. Raising the min. wage only raises the cost of goods sold. Employers aren't going to eat the cost of having to pay high school kids more to work cash registers and mop out the bathrooms without passing that cost on to the consumer.

That's right folks. It's annual enrollment time and our out of pocket healthcare is cost are only going up 2.2% compared to last year. This is the smallest increase I have ever seen in my last 10 years of working. So much for Obamacare breaking everyone's bank.
