For the record I will buy my childrens supplies as I always do but I will also try to buy more to help take some of the pressure off the teachers.

I agree its absurd. I also agree that teachers more then do their share for the students, I also agree that alot of parents dont do what they should......but I also understand when you choose certain careers there are certain sacrifices that are made. Im not suggesting that your family buy supplies Im just saying if you cant or dont want to then dont. You came on a public forum and angrily said your wife has furlough days and you are going to urge her not to buy supplies.....just think that is going to send a message to the wrong people and the way It was written I took it as out of spite .

I agree with it depends on the relationship and I also think it depends on the maturity and level of understanding. No need to take a child who doesnt even understand what they are there for. My uncle had passed away but my children didnt know him and they werent real sure what a funeral was and I thought it would be hard for them to see so I chose not to take them. I went to the website and put our address in and it confirmed, we get no channels. We arent in the middle of nowhere, we are in a subdivision near ephs just out of curiousity i put our old address in and a huge list of channels came up...really started hating we moved I agree my butt is so sore! really starting to re think getting a tv bill again

lol, those are the only channels we get these days. Its very strange we will get every channel one day and then the next day we get nothing. So then we move the antenna all over the room until we get a signal and then we are good for a few days and then we move again...its a horrible cycle. Ugh! my poor kids also think they have to stand/sit a certain way for it to work one of my kids was convinced for about 30 min that they had to stand on one foot and lean towards our door crazy how even movement effects it. my converter box is plugged in and functions but getting it to work is another story. Im really not happy about this transition. Before we could watch tv now we cant. Guess this is one way to boost the economy...everyone who didnt have cable/satellite will soon or suffer a nervous breakdown from these darn coverter boxes but thanks for the heads up

I was just telling my dh the same thing. He laughed at me and said enjoy it while you can bc it will be gone next week he always busts my bubble my gut is telling me that we will have fall sooner then usual and we will also have snow this year ...ok maybe its not my gut but more like my wishful thinking.
