  1. WE are looking for something in the same price range so if I see anything I will let you know. I searched craigslist all weekend and actually found quite a few worth checking into. My husband also said there is an auction at the redtop mtn place tomorrow night. I have no clue at all what the prices run at these bc we have never been but we figure its worth checking.
  2. I have seen quite a few on craigslist this week
  3. the guy did say he was concerned it wouldnt work bc he has been in so many and so often...he thought his cover would be blown. Not sure how true that is though.
  4. My child is not involved in this but does attend EPHS and we got a phone call at 8pm last night saying it was cancelled.
  5. oh my goodness is mine. Not sure if I have others but that is the one ive been told.
  6. haha thats what my daughter said. Didnt the ga groundhog say long winter?
  7. Does anyone have a cheap verizon phone they want to sell? TIA
  8. awww how cute is that! looks like he had fun
  9. Im so sorry for your loss. You and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers
  10. I am so with you on that!! They waited too long and didnt have time to handle this early dismissal appropriatly. I know things happen and weather cant be predicted but....I love ya madea and im sorry your kids were in that position!
  11. He should probably just stay home! Im thinking my dh wont be able to come home from work tomorrow morning smart daughter and good choice!
  12. yes elementary got out early some have said. They werent allowed to call and I would think most dont have cell phones at school at that age so some elementary children were home before their parents. I think when things are brought to their attention the county does address and correct which is why I think its important that this message is out there. I am glad your parents were home too. Overall I do agree with Lucky64 that it is great that the kids and bus drivers are all ok.
  13. wow, I threw out an answer to a question/comment you suggested/Stated. My response had nothing to do with hormones. I was just answering why it wasnt so easy for ppl to do what you suggested. Funny what you call screwed up I call a blessed life. To each his own I suppose.
  14. yes that is the most important for today but for the future Im hoping they will learn from their mistakes. It started snowing around 1 and my neighborhood started getting bad/sticking by 130 and by 230 my child texted me to tell me they were leaving. There was plenty of time for the school board or powers that be realize some areas are not great. SO stated some roads were bad right after my children on their bus went down the road. Im sorry I think they played this one too close. I do agree that sometimes it cant be helped, weather is unpredicatable but there was about an hour to know that thi
  15. yes he has the car just sitting in the parking lot bc after he is done with that job he has to go to his 2nd job and the times he has to be at his different jobs makes it very difficult for me to keep the car and get the kids where they need to be and make it in time for him to go to the other jobs. Why is that screwed up? Bottom line is I have to trust the school and bus to provied transportation for my children. They shouldnt be at risk bc I make that choice.
  16. Oh I would have been up to pick my kids up before it got dangerous but my husband and I share a vehicle and he was at the firestation saving lives. Next time there is questionable weather trust me he will be home and we will pick our children up.
  17. I agree with downsouth.....the bus drivers should not have been put in the position they were. To those who say the roads were fine.....about twenty minutes before the bus came into our neighborhood we already had 2 cars sliding down the hills. Our neighborhood has many steep hills and Im not sure if it was slush or ice or what but they were unable to make it easily. So NOT all roads were clear. I do agree that it is wonderful that all children made it home ok but I wouldnt say no harm was done. I think its situations like this that we cant say oh well atleast they made it home but we should
  18. wrong decision was made without a doubt. They played it too close and it just wasnt worth it. Soon after my childrens bus went down mt tabor I saw a post that SO had said mt tabor was getting slick. That was around the time the bus was going down it. The biggest problem I have is my hs called telling me she was being released from school. . . right at that moment, no notice. NO call from the school, no notice on the school website, nothing. I really think they should have some how handled that a little better. I got the call from her right as my elem children were being released (normal
  19. my ephs student texted me too. She got home about same time as my elem children. yay my kids are home safe now its time to play!!
  20. we probably have same amount here on porch. Hopefully the roads arent too bad and they will all get home ok. Im with you though I wish they would have just called it a couple hours early
  21. woo hoo coming down hard here and sticking yay!
