  1. Here's a good add-on. "Only Ghostery lets you: 1. Learn which networks are tracking your behavior 2. Block advertising 3. Block over 200 web bug & tracking services"
  2. The problem with cell phones is not so much talking on them; it's dialing the numbers, sending text messages, checking e-mail, etc.
  3. What a lot of people don't realize is that muscle burns calories. The more lean muscle your body has, the more calories it can tolerate without putting fat on. Working out, especially using weight or resistance training, both burns calories and adds muscle so your body will burn even more calories. The added muscle will help you keep the weight off. This is another problem with "no-carb" or extremely low-carb diets, most people lose muscle mass while on them. And that makes them more susceptible to gaining the weight back. Again, the majority of us would do well to reduce carbs, but
  4. Use plenty of ventilation when dealing with bleach vapors. It can cause respiratory problems when too much of it is inhaled. Fans at the doors/windows to keep plenty of fresh air coming in. Unfortunately, they took it off the market. They have a TSP substitute, but I am unimpressed.
  5. When a person loses weight very quickly, most of it is water and there is some muscle loss as well. Both can be bad for you. One - two lbs per week of fat loss is a healthy rate. Problem is, people want results and they want them now. That's a symptom of the society we life in now. That's another reason a lifestyle change is necessary, you have to be in this for the long haul. Between weight loss and exercise, a person can do some pretty amazing (good) things to their body. I have a better physique at 52 than I did as a teenager. But it takes time, about two years in my case.
  6. There are lots of plans and programs out there. Some of them work, and many don't. Some are even dangerous. We tend to over-complicate weight loss. It's really very simple, you must burn more calories than you eat. That can be accomplished by cutting back on caloric intake, increasing the amount you burn; or a combination of the two. The latter (combination of the two) is typically the best method. The vast majority of us don't get nearly enough exercise. I am not a fan of most weight loss pills. However, there are a few natural substances that might help. Green tea, Hoodia, etc ca
  7. I would say yes. If you want to make sure, put a cap full (no more) of bleach in during rinse.
  8. For matters concerning water; the water dept. They do a good job here in Paulding. Ask yourself this; Why is it not acceptable to sell to customers in the dining room, just because they can't wash their hands with drinkable water; but it's OK to sell to drive thru customers who have their hands on their nasty money and steering wheel? I deal with health departments all the time. While they are certainly a necessary part of our government, too many of them employ a bunch of idiots that are taught just enough to be dangerous. The Paulding Cty Health Dept has pulled some seriously
  9. The pressure tank (actually an expansion tank) has nothing to do whether or not it needs the stand. You can do away with the stand only if it's a FVIR heater.
  10. Maybe some boots that would limit movement of your toe? Steel toe maybe.
  11. Amputation? Just kidding buddy. I would think ice packs to numb it and keep the swelling down. At least for the first 24 hours or so. Sorry man, I know it sucks.
  12. I have to admit that I'm always skeptical when washed-up celebrities come out with something like this. Too many times it has turned out to just be a grab for publicity. Having said; if she truly was abused, I am very sorry for her and her "father" should rot in Hell.
  13. In Georgia, anyone changing a water heater should be licensed or work under someone licensed. Only a plumber or a class 2 HVAC contractor can legally do this. Either should know better. It must be raised 18" off the floor.
  14. It DOES NOT meet code. In that type of area, the water heater is supposed to be raised so it will be above combustible gasses (heavier than air). If you paid someone, I'd get them back and make them do it right.
  15. (Guard dad running out of the room in tears)
  16. I'll be there, but my wife said no to the girlfriends.
  17. Subby's da man with small engines. I bet the guy has a gas powered toilet. I'll let y'all figure out the "gas powered" part........
  18. Do you have an SD card in your phone? If so you could save them to the card, and move the card to your computer. If you don't have a card reader, you can get one for about $15.
  19. Depends on several factors. Go to "My Computer" and see if the phone shows up under drives.
  20. You can wash your hands, the water company is just recommending that we don't ingest the water. Washing with it is fine. Most of the restaurants use antibacterial soap too.
  21. Certainly, cases such as those have to be more careful. But for the majority of us, living in a sanitary bubble will make it much easier to get sick when we are exposed to germs.
  22. We're carrying this extreme sanitizing too far, it's reducing our resistance to bacteria. Ever wonder why a dog can drink from a mud puddle and not get sick, yet it would probably put us in the hospital?
