And you obviously didn't understand my post. If a server does their job, they get paid. If they don't, their compensation is reduced. Seems to me like a good system to encourage them to do well.

Let me preface by stating that I tip at least 15% for satisfactory service, and extremely well for a server who goes beyond the minimum requirement. But I can't help but notice how many here see tipping as an entitlement; something the server is owed just because they bother to show up at a customer's table. Most servers do a pretty good job for me, and I probably average 20%. A few do an exceptional job, and I tip them very well. But occasionally I get one that is terrible, and those individuals will get a reduced amount.....in extreme cases even nothing. Tipping is reward for a job well
