Same as any hair "do", should be fine if it's clean and well-groomed. Certain industries frown on facial hair though; restaurants for example. I wear a mustache and goatee, have for years. It covers up some of the ugly.

Vista is a big fat program, and a lot of manufacturers installed it on cheap computers without the horsepower to run it. You need a minimum of a dual-core processor and 2 gig (4 is better) of RAM to really make Vista run smoothly. On a powerful machine, Vista is actually a very stable and slick working OS. But on a cheaper machine, it's a dog.

I would suggest a strict rule that it has to be turned off well before bed time. The light and the motion of a TV reduce melatonin levels and interrupt sleep. Most kids today are marginal on the amount of sleep they get anyway.

Maybe I'm the odd man out, but I have not been impressed with Dell laptops. Their desktops are great, their laptops have been troublesome for us. We've had excellent service from Toshiba laptops. They seem to be much better built than most others, and use higher quality components. XP Pro is still the standard in business, not sure how long that will be though.

Poplar Springs is at 5:00, and should only last about 30 minutes.

I wish. I'm an old Mopar guy, so I'd love to have one. But until I get the kid out of college and bit'ness picks back up, I just can't swing it.
