  1. You can send a word doc with any e-mail client. Just save the doc, then attach to an open e-mail. I use Thunderbird at home, it's free. http://www.mozillamessaging.com/en-US/thunderbird/
  2. I had the exact same problem and it turned out to be the phone jack for my alarm system causing it. The jack was corroded and was shorting out the DSL. So it could indeed be in your home's wiring, not the phone company's part.
  3. Hmmmm, you know my daughter works with the Band of Gold?
  4. Tundras are built in Indiana or Texas, and they contain a higher percentage of American made components than any of the "domestic" trucks. And....Toyota isn't owned partially by the federal government and the UAW. Ford, Chevy, and Dodge are made in a variety of plants; including some in Canada, England, and Mexico. They use more Chinese made parts than the Japanese brands. Point being; the old rules just don't hold true any more. I was a Dodge guy prior to buying this one; but at the time I was looking to purchase, no one knew if Chrysler and GM would be around long. I also o
  5. Yeah, that recall is a little skeeery. When you stomp down on almost 400 horsepower, things happen fast.
  6. Yeppers. And that's my fishpond behind it.
  7. Ha! Y'all seem more interested in my truck than the snow.
  8. How 'bout...... "Batteries Not Included"
  9. Only by the grace of 4wd.
  10. LOL. My mom's house, no one's lived there in awhile. She's in an Alzheimer's facility. I just went by to check on things.
  11. ...in Chattanooga Left work about 12:30 to go visit my mom. About Dalton, I-75 turned white. GOt off at Ringgold and this is what it looked like; Never did get to Chattanooga to see mom; roads were so slick, every hill was blocked with stuck cars. FInally tuned back. I have 4wd, so I had traction; but couldn't get through all the stuck cars. Temps dropping there and more snow coming; they're in for a rough time.
  12. I tend to agree. I break with many of my faith in this area. Gambling is purely voluntary, no one is forced to do it. Take the lottery for example; a lot of people who play it really can't afford it, but these same people will blow their money on something else if it wasn't for the lotto. Frankly, I see it as a voluntary tax. Since many of these people don't really pay any income taxes (thanks to liberalism), I have absolutely no problem with them voluntarily helping to pay other people's college tuition.
  13. I have to agree with her pubby. Had you just posted the article purely as news, it would have probably been consistent with your normal handling of thread placement. But since you made a completely gratuitous swipe at a political party in the subject line, I feel that you should either move the thread or edit the title. Just my totally worthless opinion.
  14. You oughta tell Foxworthy about that one.
  15. Yukons/Tahoes are rock solid vehicles that are based on the Chevy Truck. I've got a 2002 Yukon XL that has been a wonderful automobile. And the gas mileage is better than you will expect for a V-8. From what I hear, the Trailblazers had some issues. You might wanna check Consumer's Reports or other rating agencies for reliability stats.
  16. So your total utilities only increased by $10. You did very well considering the weather.
  17. Not necessarily. Modern heat pumps can be efficient down into the teens. The 30 something degree rule is very dated and no longer applies to all systems. If that is the only gas appliance in your house, you'll be paying a meter charge all year for something that you use only a few months. And even the energy savings while you are in axillary heat won't be that great, it would take years to recover the cost of the new furnace and the installation of gas in their home. Money would be better spent on getting the heat pump serviced so it's operation at top efficiency. Heat pumps run
  18. So sorry for your loss Snick. I've been down that road myself, and it is a rough one. Prayers for peace and healing.
  19. My daughter is 5'11" and wears a size 6 shoe.
