Let me get this straight... You are asking for Mayberries AND Bullets?

I did a good deed / community service on the way home tonight. I pulled up on an accident on Powder Springs and Hopkins while off duty and right after it happened. I stopped and checked for injuries. Then I got everyone out of the cars and onto the side of the road and the movable car out of the roadway. Unfortunately, right after I got the hazards on for the stalled vehicle there was another car that did not see it in time and smashed into the back of the stalled car. Still no one was injured and that is the best part. Does that Qualify me for a Mayberry tonight?

Went out at 0430 to Sam's. There were about 30 or so folks in the line ahead of us. We went for the 96 cent ATT phones and a WII. Got the ticket for the WII. Went in and got the 2 phones. Took a while for the lady ahead of us and then us to go through the paperwork though. Got a few of the $9.88 blueray movies. That was actually the worst part of the morning. I saw the advt. movies but the ad only showed 5 out of 20. So while she was waiting for the phones, I went ot find assistance on the movies. First two guys were clueless about the other movies and only indicated where there was a display.

DOOOHH!!! WTH happened to a 10 pct. chance of showers Tues. evening?!? That'll teach me. Please se my last topic. -
Bikes are grouped by tire size. But within that group you will find different frame sizes and styles. The best way to size up a bike is to have the rider stand next to it an check the seat height next to his hip. Yu can ride a bike with a taller seat but you should not ride one that you can not safely straddle the wIth both feet flat on te ground. Also if the minimum seat height precludes the rider from keeping their feet squarely on the pedel at their furthest extension, then the frame is to big.

I don't like riding in the rain but I flatout refuse to do that in a place as busy as Rome. Much safer to wait it out. C1, what you donKt like the rain or what?
-
I am seriosly gonna quit riding towards Chattanooga. Everytime I do, I get wet. Now I have decided that it is better to sit out the rain storm at the IHP in Rome. Well at lest the staff got a laugh out me bopping in soaked. but it was only my outer gear.

Should they have booed her? No. Civility precludes that. Would you expect that most of the folks at the race in FLORIDA have the same beliefs as PIBO and his administration? NO!! Those two camps are about as far apart as they can get. Now with that said I will add the following. Whoever approved the idea of them going thear and making an appearance ought to be FIRED. That would be like having Mrs. Bush being a dignitary at Freaknick in Atanta. Some things just are not meant to happen together. And my final thoughton this. The worst arguement that I have heard defending her and attacking the c

Mine has been moved to the fridge already. it will spend a few days there and on tues it will sit in the sink with cool water. That evening it will go into the brine until thur. The brine is from Alton Brown. I make that and put it and the turkey in a 5 gal bucket with lid from HD. All that goes back into the fridge until Thur. It helps that I have a seperate fridge in te basement for drinks because I wll have lots of extra room. The brine is the best way to do a turkey that I have ever found.

I'm sure Dis jr. and I were in that one as well.

the gore areas are "unfortunate" areas created withinin the roadways due to lane changes and merges / splits. They do tend to add a little buffer zone or safe zone in these areas but are not intended to nor can they typically SAFELY support a traffic lane for travel. Most are seen when, for instance, you go from a 2 lane undivided roadway to an intersection that was widened to acommodate a turn lane. You can not instantly transition from one to the other so gores are put in to shunt traffic away from the new lanes without letting them stike the rear of a vehicle thaat might be stopped in the t

Now that was funny! Gives new meaning to the phrase "ASSume the position".

Hard to believe but it is rapidly coming up on 18 years this March. And Bob still has not retired yet!

How many times have you been shot in the face by a bad guy? I bet I have you beat.

That's the whole point, many of us in public safety actually DO give a "dang" about our jobs and the public's safety. Even though, unfortunately for a large proportion of the population, our paths cross due to ignorance or just not giving a dang themselves. Just because you do not believe it or you have an issue with a past experience does not make my statement false.

No problem here. I was not replying to you though. Just mentioned that I was not really following yours and Nitros back and forth other than it was about when and if LEOs would be exempt from following rules / laws. It is all usually pretty much cut and dry between department policy and state law. The one thing to remember is that not everything you see is as it appears. For instance when responding emergency on the highway you may see a fire truck turn off all their emergency equipment if traffic flow precludes the need for passing. Most folks driver faster than we can go as is and it is bet

You do have a right to your opinion as do I. And You know what they say about opinions right.
-
Got some sort of stats to back that up or is it just opinion? And just so you know, I voluntarily left the PD 15 years ago in favor of the FD after I got married. I just can't stand it when people make absurd accusations about the police officers I call "brothers". Until you've done the job, you really do not have the correct frame of reference to make some of the comments here. And no, I'm not following Janko's arguements.
-
As an LEO I never had a quota. I could write as many or as few as I wished in between all the alarms, domestic didputes (including mom telling me that I had to tell her daughter that she could not spend the night at so and so's house), Thefts, accidents and a whole host of other calls that just in general kept me from finding time to "generate" $$$ with citations.
-
That only applies to roadways not driveways.
-
So by your logic then, We should just go ahead and take out the left turn lane that lets you turn into Kmart from 92N of 278? And by doing that, then those heading north on 92 will just have to wait on one of those southbound yahoos in the left turn lane AND straight lane to Yield a gap to the person stopped, and holding northbound traffic, waiting to make that left with no turn lane available? Wow!!! Amazing how looking at things from another perspective actually starts to make these "crazy useless lanes and laws" make a little more sense. Oh... I forgot. Those northbound folks can just pass t

Yes, they are human too and as such are capable of making mistakes. The only problem with that is everyone else has 2 months to 2 years to pick apart a decision that the LEO had 2 seconds to make on only the knowledge immediately available to him. If they make a big mistake then they need to be held accountable. If they mad a mistake that they really should not have made, they need to be held accountable. But for some to sit here and say that the only reason LEOs make these stops is to produce revenue is total BS. These Gore violation citations were in direct response to a request made of the

That is one of the reasons they were writing those citations yesterday. Get the ones who cause others to brake the law due to learned behavior. ie. if I do not get into the gore then the next yahoo will pull up next to me and cut me off. So they too break the law. And it appears that our favorite driver did not get a ticket yesterday as she crossed the opposing left turn lane behind me on 92 @ Macland. I have an over the shoulder picture of her doing it but it is not very good. But I do have some rather good ones of her going through the parking lot ofLGE Credit Union on 27 @ Poplar. She w
