There is a news bit about a guy that refused the screening. He did not want to be groped. So he turned over his ticket and was going home. On his way out of the airport he was stopped by TSA and Security agents, who of course, wanted to screen him before he left. Threatened with a civil suit and fine, he said sue me and left.

I was with the PD and hat to pat down females too. Using prefered methods as a flashlight handle and the backs of my hands. As I said, I do not have any problem making their jobs easier. I just hope that they are ok with my methods.

Apparantly since the underwear bomber thing, they have started to manual pat downs of folks that do not go through a body scan. And even that may still lead to a pat down. The TSA agents will basically check everywhere, using the back of their hands, leaving no stones untouched as it were. BTW, look at my Avatar, I already have the robe.

It may be the European in me (1st generation born in the US), but I think the next time I fly I'm going to make life REAL easy on the screeners. I will save them the trouble of making them do a full body scan of me or a hand "pat down". I'm going to bring a little bag with street clothes in it. The part that should stand out is that they, the department, "made a business decision". It was cheaper to buy him off than defend the LEO. I was told the same thing when I hired on with the PD in 1993. Basically do not be surprised or disappointed if it happens. I can not see the aquitals though. Either his tag was improperly displayed or it was not. The lane change could be argued but not likely. The police department just wanted this case gone. It is a shame that they will not / can not press the case for the defense due to money.

We just got my daughter her own phone. She can text if she wants but at 8, there is not much need. That is why we text more than she does. She only has the phone for emergencies as this is the first year she comes home alone while I pick up Dis jr.

My part alone here is $10,900 plus my reg Fed taxes of about $6,000. So my part without my employer matching is already at about 30%. While this may be true, there are other considerations. My link As stated in the article there are other factors. If you want to do an accurate comparison you have to include my family's $14,000 yearly healthcare cost, the 6% of my gross earnings amount that my employer takes for my pension plus the part they contribute. Then you have to add in Social Security. Now with all the additional amounts added in as compensation to equalize the 2 amounts, how do we compare now? Not to good I imagine.

Just on a side note here. I was thinking about this on my drive home this morning. If it is true that the top 3% of earners in the USA pay about 97% of all income tax receipts. Further that it is not a far stretch to determine that these very same folks can live anywhere they want to in the world with little effect to them. Well they may be a little over priced. I think the same tape at HD would have been maybe a dollar less. But the point here was that they were litterally marking things up to mark them down later.

Sorry to hear about them closing. But the last ACE hdw closing sale I went to was a JOKE!! The one in Pwd Spgs. I stopped in to see if I could find a bargain. They had things 60% off original price then. I always need tape measures. They had a Stanley 25' steel tape. I looked at the price, it was $24.99!!! You have to be kidding me. Everyone sells these at about 10 bucks. So I called the ACE in Douglasville. (Yes I will go out of my way sometimes for crazy things) They said theirs was $9.99. I took the tape to the MOD at this store and told him that Douglasville had it for $9.99 every day.
