nschur replied to MissSophie's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I hope he did not have a visit with Wallace farm down the road. -
You know they have that whole people of Wal-mart web site that is alwas good for a few laughs and even a couple of OMFGs! Just imagine the fun we could have had at the TSA's expense with the people of the TSA web site. But you are correct, I love being an instigator. And it got off to such a good start. Well in honor of what might have been... The people of Wal-mart

I saw "MOMMA" Kissing Santa Clause in Hiram!
nschur replied to Caped Crusader's topic in RECENT TOPICS
My mom is old enough to kiss Santa and it not be gross. Santa just has more hair and a beard than my dad. Now my FIL... that is a whole different story. Put the hat on his head to cover the bald on top, and he looks just like him. I have to wonder if Santa's chest is as full of white hair as his is though. -

Then that is a NO to Government TAXES. HELLO.... are you really that stupid or what?!? You can not use that arguement to opt out of one thing and yet allow another! That is as stupid an arguement as I have ever heard. Ranks right up there with "because I said so". (Provided of course you are not speaking to your child) Hell!!! he can't work anywhere in this country. The country itself supports the military so that the military can protect the country. Everyone in the country wants that protection or they would leave. No matter where, who or for what he works, that entity supports the milit -

There is no honor in not fulfilling your obligation. If I told you that my religion forbid me to participate in the raising and support of my children, would you deem me a honorable man? I think the answer is pretty obvious there. At the very least Sue for the Costs back and give a DISHONORABLE DISCHARGE. -

We are still trying to see what the "sin" is. Just for you ZC. Straight from your link... "Michael Izbicki is entitled to recognition as a conscientious objector because his religious beliefs do not allow him to kill or support the killing of other human beings." I'll ask you once again...And working as a cook, quarter master, secretary, or other rear area duties DIRECTLY causes believers to actively engage in the destruction of life how? Fulfilling his obligation in a billot like that is different than doing those same things in the private sector how? Cook - Longhorns, App -

I did I did I did Can you not see the quote from the article in my question? I do understand logic. And you obviously do not So it is sad and also too bad that you are such a nag. But I will say it just to shut you TFU. "you're right". No one has the right to expect anyone else with a half ass reason to fulfill any contract signed by both parties. I'll remember that the next time someone renigs on an aggreement to you. Not really trying poetry / rhyme here, as obviously it is not my calling. It just kind of came ot that way. -
I'm Shopping For A TV To Use With Netflix, You Tube, etc.

You can go through the WII also. I was told you can do the same with the XBOX but have no knowledge about that. I use my laptop with an HDMI cable at home. I also bought a DVI to HDMI adapter for the station. We hook the laptop up that way since the TV there does not have HDMI. We have to get sound through a seperate adapter plugged into the headphone jack. You need to look at the picture quality of the TV. You should be able to hook up to any of the new ones since HDMI is now standard on most TVs. -

Show me where he said EVERY duty in the navy went against his COS. And just because it is the navy will not fly either because as BS eluded to... we pay taxes, those taxes go to the government, the government uses those taxes to equip and man the military and finally they order the military to kill or injure others at their request. So that would leave him the only choice to move to a country that has no military or does not fund their military with money taken through taxes. After he signed up, no, that freedom to change his mind just kept getting smaller the further he went on the government's dime. He signed up for five years of service. He changed his mind "while in school". That is all well and good. Put the guy in whatever position you have to so long as it does not conflict with his COS. Look at it this way. Say his education cost tax payer's $200,000. He got an education worth that amount PLUS 5 years of service. He can't just pay back the $$$ part. He owes 5 years of service as well. How much money do you figure that is worth? They now have to train anothe -

I have to wear a shirt when I sleep. I will sweat really bad if I don't. I do not sweat at all if I do wear a shirt. I still do not understand it. So If I have to wear a shirt might as well wear bottoms. Oh well. Will it work?

Understood that a graduate from the academy is given officer status. But it has to be understood that he made a commitment to the service. Also that there are very few officer positions that would not conflict with his COS. He needs to be put to work, preferably in an officer's position that does not conflict with his COS. If that is not possible then heck yeah, put him to work in a seaman's rating if you have to. Either way, he does his hitch. He should feel lucky that he got his education at the taxpayer's expense even if he serves his time as an E-1. -
