  1. WASHINGTON (AP) -- The unemployment rate rose in 20 states last month as employers in most states shed jobs. The Labor Department says the unemployment rate rose in 20 states and fell in 15. It was unchanged in another 15 states. That's nearly the same as in November, when the rate rose in 21 states, fell in 15 and was the same in 14. The report is evidence that the job market is barely improving even as the economy grows. Most economists expect hiring to pick up this year, although the unemployment rate will likely remain high http://finance.yahoo.com/news/Unemployment-rises-in-20
  2. JOHANNESBURG (AP) -- The International Monetary Fund says the United States must overhaul the housing finance system responsible for its financial crisis, possibly by privatizing Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. "The authorities should not delay efforts to create an action plan for the future," says its latest Global Financial Stability Report released Tuesday in South Africa. Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac "could be either privatized or converted to public utilities with an explicit (and explicitly funded) guarantee." Some critics accuse the mortgage giants, which own or guarantee about half o
  3. And this supports your claim that the price of "petrol", also known as gasoline, "has not nearly kept up with the price of of inflation" how? It seems to me that if the current dollar adjusted amount is $2.39 / gallon, as it is right now, and we are at $3.00+ per gallon then it would have far outpaced inflation. And has been for the last several years. And that is to the tune of .61 cents / gallon. Or a sir charge of 20%. That is a pretty steep sir charge in my book.
  4. So you are telling me there is nothing to be proud of when you are a Liberal Tree Hugger? It seems to me that one should be proud of their own beliefs unless said beliefs are illegal or immoral such as being a LIAR, which is what you accused me of. If someone called me a "gun carrying conservative", I would respond with a " Thank you, your point?" Being called a liar in public is also defamatory, which has its own consequenses. Now would you care to explain where and how I lied? Didn't think so. You were the all knowing one who lied, or at the very least can be construed as mistaken, when you
  5. I read where the Soul is the top rated vehicle for teenage to college age drivers.
  6. We were discussing this earlier today. With unemployment above 10% in Georgia, let's hear your family's current standing. My direct family consists of 5 families with 2 workers in each before the economy headed south. We were widely scattered in careers though. This is where we stand now. Then Manufacturing 1, Banking 2, Fire Service 1, Information Technology 1, Retail 1, Mechanic 1, Nurse 1, Government 1, Sales 1. Now Manufacturing 1, Banking 1, Fire Service 1, Retail 1, Nurse 1, Small Business owner 2. The Small Business owners are 1 couple who both lost their jobs and had
  7. Yup... That's what I tried to tell her.
  8. MONTPELIER, Vt. – Train equipment froze, cars sputtered, schools canceled classes and cold-weather enthusiasts opted to stay inside Monday as a bitter blast of below-zero temperatures with promises of minus-50 wind chills gripped the Northeast. The gasp-inducing cold tested the mettle even of New Englanders, who pride themselves on winter hardiness. "Snot-freezing cold," was how Kelly Walsh, 28, described it, walking home from an auto parts store in Vermont's capital after buying a new battery for her car, which wouldn't start Monday morning. It was minus 21 there at 7 a.m. http://
  9. Yeah, I just do not get where she gets her numbers from. She can check mine if she likes. There are all sorts of money vs. buying power calculations. Here is a good link. http://www.inflationdata.com/inflation/inflation_rate/Gasoline_Inflation.asp I think that she is just trying to convince others who will not check on the veracity of her comments.
  10. I did not call you any names. I just said you were like a liberal tree hugger. Since when is being called a liberal or a tree hugger an insult? And the fact that these folks tend to make me sick to my stomach is my own business. And FYI... $1 in 1980 has the same purchasing power in 2009 (last year data was available) as $2.60 Seems about right to me. How about you?
  11. And if we had 20 or even 10 years to climb to up to 6 - 8 dollars / gal it would be a hell of a lot easier on the economy and families. Just think we doubled from $1.50 to $3 per gallon in less than a year. That was a VERY bitter pill to swallow and there are many people who are still reeling from it. But hey, anything to make you liberal tree hugging pukes happy.
  12. He did, but I believe he was talking about the coal fueled power plant. that was due to his Cap n Tax law.
  13. Most subdivisions have it in the covenents that, no home will have a fence that breaks the plane of the home's rear wall. I would definately look at that first.
  14. How about you just start paying the $8.00 / gal price that you want it to be starting now. I'm sure there are many folks who would appreciate it.
  15. At least someone is willing to admit it.

  18. We will be staying next door at the Wilderness lodge. You will probably see us around the campground on bicycles. We like to ride around it. You will have the Hoop de doo revue, Trails end beffeteria and Crockets Tavern there in the camp ground. There are movies with Chip and Dale there in the evenings. I recommend the TEB for breakfast. You can take the Motor launches to the Magic Kingdom and other resorts around that area. Ohana's at the Poly is highly recommended as is the Whispering canyon cafe at the WL. We seldom do the dining plan as it is a little better than cost IF you use all your a
  19. Next thing you know, the Chupacabra will be homesteading in his yard. We were have a little issue with the GPS system and I think we might of gotten a little bit off course. I knew I shouldn't have taken that left at Albuqurque....
  20. I wonder if her current mall employer knows about this. Well they do now. Ooops... Sometimes it is better to remain silient and be thought a fool than to speak up and remove all doubt.
  21. Yay Subby!!! Glad you got the job back. sorry but all my stuff was service at the end of the year. Except my blower. It really needed a good servicing, but I will just leave that up to the person that stole it in December.
  22. Swallows. European to be specific... or wait... was it the African.
  23. First let me say, my wife has sold Mary Kay since before we were married 15 years ago. I think that qualifies me to give an opinion on this most heinous act. I have seen several product line transitions. I see them as a money waster. She purcased the supplies for that line then they change it. I would ask why are you throwing out all that expensive stuff? "That is old product, we don't sell it anymore and I caan not give it away" I know, NUTZ! So she reorders only to have it change again down the road. I think the Makeup CO is just doing that to cause product spoilage and force new sales. I sa
  24. And for once, I find myself in complete agreement with Pubby. Like it or not the law is the law. If you do not like it, have it changed.
  25. You mentioned that the kids do not get along. Not insinuating that this is the case but could the neighbor be concerned about the goings on around and on his property, especially if the children are not supposed to be on that property. I know that if my car windows kept getting broken with no reason and no one admitting to it, I might be video taping the young uns around my home as they "play".
