It used to be acceptable practice to use a family Bible entry for a child's birth as a proof of birth.

US Posts Best Manufacturing Numbers Since May 2004
nschur replied to zoocrew's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Chugging?!? My description would be crawling with a limp. The manufacturing sector is growing at a "healthy" pace while the rest of our economy is barely moving forward. -
There was good news in US manufacturing this month but there was continued bad news in the construction sector. Construction is the sector that usually is the first to show gains after a downturn. WASHINGTON (AP) -- Builders began work on fewer homes, shopping centers and other projects in 2010, pushing total building activity down to the lowest point in a decade. Construction spending dropped 10.3 percent last year, marking the fourth annual decline, the Commerce Department said Tuesday. It fell to $814.18 billion in 2010, the lowest level since 2000. And the year ended on a weak n

While the police and fire departments are funded by taxes taken from a regional group, you still have the option of not living in a covered area. Yours is a strawman arguement. Auto insurance is the same way. You pay into a policy in hopes that you never need it. But what you are actually buying is the safety net that if something does happen you will be covered by your policy and its administrator. The major difference between police / fire and auto insurance is that auto insurance is passive coverage (only providing benefits after an incident) while police and fire are active. Polic -
I have no idea. Never been it that boat thankfully. I do know that some lenders will pay you cash to surrender the keys and leave the home in good shape. That is the right thing to do in my book. On the other hand I have heard about a stall tactic that really has the eviction process on it's ear. "Profuce the note" This means that the Bank has to produce the actual signed agreement in order to evict you. It doesn't seem to difficult a task but it really has become quite difficult for them. With all the bundling of investments and paprwork shuffling that goes on. it can really slow them dow

You mean where EVERYONE pays? They all pay because they have to live somewhere and if you tax that somewhere then it is covered. There are no government exceptions. You are not fined because you do not have it since everyone already pays. And I do understand that even those that rent or lease pay because the actual property owner pays these taxes. That's a good idea, I'll back that idea. Especially since the tax rate would apply equally across the whole and would only vary upon how much the home costs. I just can't help but wonder how many new folks would now be in government own homes and si -

And if the Constitution specifically banned states from participating in assisting the Federal government in enforcing these laws, like it specifically states the Federal government can not make someone purchase something, then most of us would have supported the Federal government's stance. As it is, the situation is now that the Federal government is demanding that they not assist them because it is illegal. I wonder how many states will remember that stance when the Feds do want their help. Me? I would be saying it is unconstitutional for me to assist you in Federal affairs. Edited to -
If you use standard accounting practices the hotel manager's books would be off by $100 because he left HIS money on the counter to be taken away.

Laws should not "benefit" anyone over another. All laws should be equal in the benefits or protection that they provide. ie. murder laws are meant to protect all citizens / residents/ visitors within our borders from malicious harm from another. In a perfect world just would be blind. No one person would derive any more benefit from a law than another. Laws also should not provide one person benefits at the expense of another. I also put to you that had many of those that demanded free treatment at the ER had better morals (in this case the urge to make good their debts) then healthcare c -

Hey I did read your article. I just did not get much out of it. And in general I will be more than happy to do research of my own. In this case however, I just asked you a simple question. But I would and do appreciate the additional info. I did find the following on Wiki though. Black's Law Dictionary defines judicial activism as a "philosophy of judicial decision-making whereby judges allow their personal views about public policy, among other factors, to guide their decisions and David Strauss has argued that judicial activism can be narrowly defined as one or more of thre -

Many here would argue the unfairness of our tax system as well. Too many people do not pay. Many of those actually get paid back more than they put in. But yet they still reap the same exact benefits as those that do pay in. Our tax system stinks. There is an alternative and there is a reason that it is called the fair tax. -

And how hard would it have been for you to simply answer my question from the given example. Then you could say that is right, mostly right, neither right nor wrong, wrong or way wrong. At least that would give a little info to me about what you believe as well. I can read something and still take away a whole different meaning than you. And NO, I do not find reading up on judicial activist judges through our history particularly rivoting reading. I find your Lack of response other than "slamming" me for a lack of education on this topic quite telling of your mentalty. ie, not very helpful. -

I would agree but it won't happen. I have even posted a way for the current system to be revamped in a way that would greatly reduce healthcare costs to those that pay/ have insurance and shift the costs of the others to a secific area that can be better addressed and handled. In the end My plan would greatly expand the number of folks who have insurance just because of the savings. So why don't you post you political assessment chart and THEN we will discuss your allegations of exactly who or what makes a right wing extremist. -

Assume I do not know what you are referring to here, because I don't. I am trying to understand judicial activism. To me that means making law by court rulings. So how is ruling on a current law making new law? If a law says that only Black cars are allowed to be built and White cars are illegal, and a judge rules that Gray cars are also legal, then to me that would be JA. If the same judge had ruled that forcing someone to buy a White car is illegal because White cars are illegal, then it is not JA. And there is a law on Georgia's books to that effect. "permitting another to violate stat -

It would be better to say that IF you own a car, THEN you have to have insurance. That is not the same as saying if you are ALIVE, then you have to have healthcare. Owning a car is optional, being ALIVE not so much. -
And Here I was thinking that you were the one advocating for higher fuel prices. I'll provide links to your quotes if you like. Anyway, there is a direct relationship between fuel prices and food prices. When Fuel goes up, food goes up. Those farmers need fuel to plant, fertilize, harvest and transport their goods to market. Those goods then need to be transported to the processing plants, then to the market. And that leaves out the other fuel related steps like getting the seeds and fertilizer to the farm and all the steps need to in turn produce those other needed goods. But go ahead and i

And have you read my post on the government run unemployment office. The whole you have to come in for us to tell you anything and when we get there,we can't tell you anything further. And these are the folks YOU want running healthcare. You gonna post that assessment or what?

When Pubby first added them they were on the left, but they moved them to the right for me. Now they are back, and I did not ask for them to be moved. I know why they are on the left and I really do not care if it makes folks look at them more often. As a commerce member I should get my choice. Are you hearing me PUBBY?!? By the way, How many of those eyeballs belong to folks with only one eye Pubby?
