  1. There are many Christians who still believe that everyone around them should follow their beliefs. I'll never understand why, given alcohol consumption for instance, they feel that since they do not want anyone to be able to buy alcohol on Sunday that no one should. We are a nation of freedoms. One of those is that you have the freedom to choose which religion to follow, or follow none. Also it should be remembered that your freedoms/rights end where anothers begin. I seldom drink and I am not one to be in church every time the doors are open. In short, I choose not to drink. But on the other
  2. NEW YORK (AP) -- U.S. gasoline prices have jumped to the highest levels ever for the middle of February. The national average hit $3.127 per gallon on Friday, about 50 cents above a year ago. The price is about 6 percent higher than on this date in 2008. The next day, pump prices began a string of 32 gains over 34 days. They rose 39 percent over five months, eventually hitting an all-time high of $4.11 per gallon in July. http://finance.yahoo...241295.html?x=0 I wonder what this means. Spin away
  3. I think they should ammend the neg. stats to where you have to state why you feel obligated to do that along with showing who gve a neg rating. It could be done in a sub menu where the explanations are not seen unless you want to. But I still have to wonder why someone would give a statement like that a neg mark. Unless you did it it just to be snarky.
  4. It could be literally anything. In Cobb if a person "falls down the stairs", they send PD with fire to investigate. You can make an open records request at the SO after a couple of days if you really feel that you need to know.
  5. We had a Dr's appointment for my son right there at 285 / Glennridge @ 2:45. Got there at 2:25. Done at 3:25. Back at the Hiram Walmart for Rx by 4:10. I guess we were lucky.
  6. I have heard that many folks that have the funding/jobs/credit needed to buy a new/different home are doing the following. They tend to be older and will likely be purchasing a home they will stay in for more than 10 years. They go get qualified / approved for the new loan. Schedule the new homes closing and actually close on it. Then they just walk away from the first one and take the credit hit on the foreclosure. Even if they were $200,000 under water, the credit hit is the same. Trading $200k in losses for 100 - 200 point hit on the credit score seems to be a good trade financially. Especi
  7. In regards to the 27% that are under water. I think it does make sense if you stop to consider the foreclosures. With the vast number of forclosures that have already gone through, the banks have taken over the position of the entity that is actually under water. The numbers do not include those banks. There are also many folks who just "walked away" from their homes when they realized how far they had deprciated. Then you have the short sales and the bank sales that have already cleared the homes that were underwater that are not now because the loss in value has already been realized by some
  8. We saw a bra on the road over here by the station the other day. I just have to wonder how that happened.
  9. supercede Ok... I found this on yahoo Supercede has occurred as a spelling variant of supersede since the 17th century, and it is common in current published writing. It continues, however, to be widely regarded as an error.
  10. That long word from Mary Poppins. Super.... For extra points... Spell it backwards.
  11. I really don't mind if folks fall asleep in the line. It is the ones at Hutchins that insist on parking in the outside lane right next to the other lead car, so they can be in the front when there are only 2 or 3 others in the inside lane. For those that do not know there are only 2 lanes oneway. When they do this, there is no way to get by them and they have effectively cut the flow of through traffic off. I have been trapped a couple of times now when I have to pick up my child at 1:45 to go to the doctor. Who would expect that? Think people. Oh yeah... Do not ask them to move. If you d

    Septic

A friend of mine that installs septic tanks said to not use rid-X. He says it messes up the "balance" in the tank. Eeeh ...What do I know. Anyway Bacteria degrade the solid waste and the Grey water goes into the field lines. You do not want the tank full of solids as they will start going into the field lines and clog them up. The more people in the house the more the tank needs to be pumped. The tank is designed to handle the house for the number of people that = the number of bedrooms +1. Generally 4 -5. It should be pumped about every 5 years give or take. Also if you have a garbage dispos
  14. I would put FAR MORE weight on what LTD has to say than Zoo anyday. She still has not even mustered up the political self assurance to take the little assessment I posted I while back. This the whole while screaming about all of us so called "right wing extremists" who continue to show our own assesments that are really quite moderate. I think the truth of the matter is that she is, and truly does not want to believe it, a "left wing liberal zealot".
  15. You mean this little snipet? Then there is this... So in order for the unemployment numbers to fall that much 600,000 (it is your article, you know where I got that number) people "had to find employment" right? Not so fast there sunshine. The net jobs added was only 36,000 jobs. That means 564,000 UNEMPLOYED people just gave up or ran out of benefits!!! I do not know where you got you definintion of "good news", but it sure as heck ain't the same as the rest of ours. No one holds a candle to you in their ability to blow "sunshine" up someones @$$. A
  16. I also heard that a sporting goods store was taking the whole plaza. I heard it was Bass Pro Shops, but I do not have conformation on that. I think Dick,s would not need the whole plaza while Bass would.
  17. It's a Doofulamachie. Obviously a hand tool. Tell us about the wheel and the brass part.
  18. Man.. I knew I should have taken that left at Albequrque, I wonder why I missed it.

  20. I'm sorry dude. I hope something comes your way soon.
  21. I would tell the school "you have the books ID #. When MY SON'S BOOK is returned at the end of the year, which it will be by another student, then we will discuss who has to pay what.":drinks: We are only responsible for the assigned book. If that book is turned in, it is your responsibility to make sure the person who's book is really missing pays the fine.
  22. My wise daddy always told me... "locks only keep the honest people honest". With that in mind and knowing all to well that there is enough trouble with the true criminals. I just figure I will keep my stuff locked away. Why tempt someone else? I really do not need the extra aggravations.
  23. I saw this on the news last night. My first though was great, I can understand the theorey behind. But why would they not use a Kindle , Nook or other such electronic book reader?
