And when that person lays all the blame on health / genetics without accepting any personal responsiblity for their condition? How is that rubbing it in? That would be like me saying I stupid because I was born not knowing anything and it's not the fact that I never tried to go to school. Or may that I am a bad football player because I am naturally smaller than the other players and thats's not my fault even though I never tried to play or practice the game. Need I go on about all the other birth related things that we all learn to improve upon or overcome?

Please do not take offense MP. The topic was started because of what appeared to be a mindset of "I'm obese because of genetics or health issues. It is not my fault". I am taken aback by this mentality. The whole point was to 1. raise awareness that personal choice still plays a very large part in obesity even in conjunction with the Health and genetic issues. 2. Raise awareness of the impact of calories on weight. I do not believe obesity to be a crime, but the government may soon believe that. I do not believe it makes one a bad person. I do not think for one minute that all overweight p

It is really that simple to me Pubby. Upon being educated as to how many calories one should be intaking and to continue to consume 2 -3 times that is simply a choice. I agree that there are many aspects to a persons metabolism, eating patterns, prefered foods, activity levels and many more. But to not recognize that YOU are making very poor decisions in order to maintain that weight is really not plausible. To say that you do not care and continue is still a choice.

I guess one of the points that I am trying to make here is that to ME, there are many factors that can lead to being overweight. I strongly feel that true OBESITY, unless it s caused by some underlying emotional / mental condition that a person has no control over, is a choice. Here, look at these. For adults, a body mass index of 25 or more is considered "overweight" and a BMI of 30 or more is considered "obese". http://www.webmd.com/diet/calc-bmi-plus It takes a lot of extra fat to push someone into the Obese categorey.

Just for your own comparisons on average 2400 cal for an inactive female would tend to support a weight of around 240 lbs while an active female taking in 1400 would be around 115 lbs. If you stay on that plan you should eventualy reach a weight near that. Also remember muscle weighs far more than fat. And at some point you will likely hit a point where you are not really losing weight but you are losing overall size. Also it takes more calories to support lean muscle than fat. Keep at it! You are working for a healthier you not for mine or anyone elses benefits accept your own family maybe.

How would you change the poll? The last question gave many more options than just 1 or the other. You had chices / choice combo, Genetic / genetic combo and combo of more than those.

I know the show and have seen her but never the show. From what I have seen about it, I have a whole lot of respect for the "players". It is not easy to change something like that. It takes education of nutrituion and exercise to succeed with that kind of weight loss. But the truth is that no matter wht your genetics or health issues are, there are very few cases where a 3rd party is shoving those calories down the persons throat. I am getting lots of negs for this but no answers to the questions. That is what I am trying to say here. There are many that are not willing to own up to

Working in the healthcare field I see more than my share of obese people. I have seen things in their homes/ on their beds that would amaze you. While I understand full well the impact genetics and health issues can have on a person's weight, I am convinced that OBESITY itself can not just be "blamed" on a health issue or genetics. When I have to respond to a person's home because they can not lift their own body off the floor and there is a jar of marshmellow cream filling with a spoon in it sitting on the bed, where the person spends most of their day, we can readily determine that DIET / EX

I do not believe that airlines seats are too small. I do have an issue with someone who is seated next to me having all their extra girth encroach into the seat that I paid the same for. (Well depending on how the ticket was purchased, it started at the same price). I could just as easily say "hey you mind if I throw my legs across your lap?' Anyway, if I were to advise the airlines, I would say put policies in place that cover contingencies related to this. If no extra seats are available to move to, charge more. Maybe not extra luggage but a passenger only rate. Maybe add a few rows for "la

What? They stuff "grass" in the crack or something? I've used Safelite several times for chips cracks and replacement. No issues.

Small bites eat slow chew well. Has your son been to the allergist. I have several food allergies that seem to contrinute. Peanuts cause me severe pain from spasms. I have been to the hospital multiple times due to the spasms causing an obstruction that will not go up or down and requires a foreign body removal procedure. When that happens I can not even swallow water or my own spit.

You need to be screened for EOE. I was misdiagnosed with S. Rings for years until a scope indicated Esophagial Esophogitis. Treatments are vastly different and dialation with EOE is much more dangerous.

My son and I both have EOE (no longer EE).

Sorry about the AGG. I just wanted to add that security systems are great but older home systems are easily defeated by just cutting the phone lines. Olser systems really need to be uodated to a concealed/ protexted phone line or the new wireless alarm systems that do not rely on land lines to notify the alarm companies. -
Will Sat. Work? I was going to PM you?

That's great news for you and buddy. I'm glad it worked out for you.

We use him as well.

He won't need it for the pen. It only needs some new chain link ties and some stretching back to original shape. But a 50 foot roll will go a long way towards a permanent pen.

Ohhh... I was wondering where I spilled that bottle at. Sorry. -
That would be why we have those paper things in the stalls or at least have TP to wipe the seat and place on the seat.

Then I bet it was that danged Chupacabra smoking in the tunnel spurs running under your home again. I hear they just can't seem to get him to stop smoking those danged Camels of his. -
Looks like it will be something like lost. Mysterious markings and all 85 million years ago.

I would say that you or her have probably been somewhere and gotten the 2nd hand smoke in your hair or clothing. Maybe even from sitting in a clothe chair that a smoker before you sat in.
