Being forced by the constitution to balance the budget, they have been concentrating on department reductions, not expansions and I will agree, often being penny wise and pound foolish. They need to triple/quadruple or whatever is needed the license and ID card fees and use that money to staff the centers. Whoever doesn't like it can be pointed at the Feds that required it. The article did say the state had expanded some (but not near enough): Also, the GA GA should have done this change sometime OTHER than middle of the summer when you have people on vacation in the centers a

Dang BB, the world may end a little early in 2012, both of us agree on those two candidates. -

Because you trust the government to take care of you from cradle to grave. One day it's going to disappoint you and we'll be glad to welcome you into the club at that time.

That's to get into the transfer center itself. The Recycling center is on the left when go in the entrance before you get to the scales.

Hey! I see income possibilities here... let's lease the name to local businesses by the mile! Make the road pay for itself! Then if at the end of the year they don't want to renew.... we change the name again for that mile!!

I think Dad's last bill was $30 or so... Of course, he's got $10,000 or so of solar panels on the roof helping out.

you might want to discuss that to those in Colorado dealing with looters after the fires. Or those left after a hurricane, or any other disaster. Any disruption of normal services seems to bring on the worst in people, and people in groups seems to multiply the affect. My biggest concern would be a epidemic of some kind that prevents food delivery services from running, it wouldn't take long before the grocery stores were sold out/looted and then where are densely packed cities worth of people going to get food? You think they will sit and wait for the government to take care of them

The recycling center at the Paulding Transfer station will take just about anything electronic. They are up near Seven Hills in North Paulding. It's off of Ivey Gulledge Rd. No charge except for anything with a CRT like old computer screen or TV or anything with freon in it (A/C, dehumidifer). There is a $10 charge for CRTs, $11.50 for the A/C unit (unless you have a cert showing that all the freon has been removed, then it's free)

From the September 2005 minutes of the BOC: I guess all you have to do is be a politician that actually has an original idea for once and they will name it after you. Afterthought: It is interesting that all the minutes of the BOC are stored as PDFs of scanned *pictures* of the minutes. Makes it impossible for Google to help you research stuff like this. Oh yea, clear government in action. NOT. BOC Working Session Minutes

Been a year or so since we've been, but my wife and I enjoyed the anniversary dinner we had at the Appalachian Grill.

Key is short term vs Long Term. Once saw a motor home that had the septic line run out the side to to the cleanout of the home's septic tank. Stayed that way for months. Now that was illegal.

Just finished changing the filters in the A/C and rinsing out the outside coils. Now I'm hiding inside hoping that I did some good. Just go the power bill from last month, $278. I am not looking forward to the bill next month with this week of A/C on it.

Yea, if anyone believes this this "Free" healthcare, they are nutz. Just google "Obamacare tax increases" to see how we're going to get nailed for this. Obamacare Taxes Here are the top five that will hit retire seniors more than others: Obamacare Increases on Seniors A couple of examples: The snake eating it's tail of all this gets me. The equipment is taxed. The medical insurance pays part of that tax, but premiums have to go up. Higher premiums make it a “Cadillac Plan” so more taxes are paid. Good Grief.

I saw AF1 at the Columbus, OH airport once, my wife and I had gone up for a weekend trip and the President was in town that morning for a speech. Yes, it was pretty cool. We were just lucky our flight was not one of the ones bumped by his arrival/departure. It's not just the president. I almost missed a flight out of ATL because traffic was locked solid on a Monday morning due to the First Lady leaving ATL for a speech here.

Will the real BILL HEATH please stand up?
The Sound Guy replied to Mason Rountree's topic in Paulding County NEWS
The funny part was he had to retire right after that as he didn't have the educational qualifications to be the Dean of the School. Worked himself right out of a job!! 'Course after all that fighting to get it done, he was ready to retire. On the other issue, doing a quick internet search, it appears there is no real rule on what to do on your resume if a school changes names. Some sites recommend using the latest name so that employers (voters) can find the school easily, others recommend using the older name with a "(now zzz )" after the name. Others say use the newer name with a -

If you are going to nit pick Heath, I would point out that the school name was "Southern Technical Institute" from 1949 to 1987, not "Southern Technical School". It then changed to "Southern College of Technology", and then in the 90's, the Architecture department (led by my dad) became the School of Architecture , and the name changed to "Southern Polytechnic State University" to match the new status. It's all the same school and using the current name only makes sense. I also have a BSEET from there and have been an engineer for 20+ years. -
I'm seen more problems with pretty much everything with six legs. The mild winter definitely did us wrong.

In case someone changed the router from it's default addresses for the LAN, in XP this will tell you what it is: Open a CMD (command) window and type IPCONFIG and hit enter You should get a response like this: Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection: Connection-specific DNS Suffix . : IP Address. . . . . . . . . . . . : 172.20.20.161 Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0 Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 172.20.20.1 (You may get more than one if you have multiple network devices on the PC (i.e. wireless and hardwired) The
