I wait almost 20 years on my second baby...
TJB replied to Gipper Girl Rocks's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I wish you luck. You're doing the child a great favor; I have many students who would have been better off if they were given up for adoption. Now, the child will have a chance at a good life with loving parents. -
I really would have doubts about the link JS Boss posted. I don't a Glenn Beck owned publication has much credibility. The real enemies are misinformed, lead paint chip eating, teabaggers.

Volunteers Mandated to Report Suspected Child Abuse
TJB replied to NewsJunky's topic in RECENT TOPICS
If you report it to a supervisor, make sure you document it. Once you have done that, the onus is on them and you won't be blamed. Being a mandated reporter doesn't mean you have to call DFCS, it just means you need to report it to somebody in a supervisory role. -

He had something known as a "Mongolian Spot", which to the untrained eye can appear to be a bruise but this was noted in the child's records. However, a teacher unaware of this, reported this and Child Protective Services was called. The child was in custody for several hours and my friends were in tears; they were loving parents who would never harm a child. this could have been avoided had a little care been taken before reporting this to authorities. That being said, I guess some common sense questions need to be asked before re -

It sounds like you need counseling to help deal with your son's behavior and the emotional toll it's taking on you. This must be heartbreaking. Good luck.

The People who like to protest at funerals will have a harder time
TJB replied to Lady Raider's topic in RECENT TOPICS
So do I. People like these will make it more difficult for people when there is truly a real issue to protest. -
He attacked a religion that practices non-violence. How sad.

Although I am atheist, I respect and appreciate the fact that people care enough to take the time to do something that is so personal and important in their lives. However, people need tangible things like coming to visit for coffee, have a beer, watch a movie, and just someone to listen. I'm not mad at God but I am mad, sad, depressed, and more emotions than I can describe. Sharing with other people who have similar experiences is helpful. When I was in group therapy, I couldn't believe how many tears I had inside and quite honestly, I'm afraid if I cry, I'll never stop. As MS takes my wife's

The people that have abandoned me are those I've gone out of my way to help. I would never belittle someone trying to help me. However, I refuse to believe in religion when they prey on fear and bigotry. Quite frankly, actions mean much more than prayers. When people say I'll pray for you, it mostly means I'm busy with other things and I can't be bothered. One of my neighbors, who is religious, has been wonderful to my wife and I would do anything I could to help them. They have given us more than we've given them and for that, I am eternally grateful and I would never disrespect her faith, sh
