Had Zimmerman let the police do their job, there's a good chance this tragic event would have never happened.

Why? Martin was being followed by someone who was not a police officer. Zimmerman should've let the police handle it. Zimmerman took Martin's life and ruined his own in the process because he was a wannabe cop.

Do you remember Chris Benoit, the wrestler who killed his wife and child? When they did an autopsy on Benoit's brain, it showed significant brain damage from head trauma(repeated concussions. Many former NFL players are also developing dementia, believed to be from repeated and unreported concussions. As players get bigger, stronger, and faster this problem will only get worse.
