I agree with most of what you say but being gay is not a "lifestyle", my gay uncle said he knew from the age of 5 he was "different". The use of the word "lifestyle" indicates a choice and I don't think people would choose a lifestyle where they face bigotry, discrimination, and in some cases, being disowned by their families. By the way Rhett, I believe your hateful comments toward gays is rooted in your deep seated insecurities about your own sexuality. So you just want somebody who blows smoke up your ass and only tells you what you want to hear? There are conservatives I disagree with, but it helps me question my beliefs and I like that. I would also hate to see a conservative site shut down; doing so would set a bad precedent. Many of the conservatives I know are thoughtful people and some are friends. Liberal or conservative, we should support free speech and opposing views, even when it's uncomfortable. the fact you want to put an end to someone who disagrees with you, is frightening and unpatriotic.

It's not a good job market and my wife will get worse and if I was only responsible for me, I would walk away. I love teaching when I get a chance to teach and have a reasonable chance of being successful. It's frustrating to be repeatedly put in situations where it's almost impossible to do a good job.
