  1. thanks, guys. not sure how old but I know some are pre-1980's and some are 1980-1990. This is something I have never messed with before so just was not sure. He even has sheets of cards from Nascar, Football and Baseball. Too many to keep..
  2. Hubby has a TON of baseball cards that he needs to get rid of. I know we could go on Ebay, but there are soo many to post..has anyone done this before? Any tips?
  3. It was good to see you & Tony last night, Tona. Danny will be sorely missed by all of our family. Needless to say the family reunions will never be the same without him. He always loved to play tricks on me ever since we were teenagers. Gonna be a sad next few days.. I have to work tomorrow, but they will all be in my thoughts and my prayers. We all need to see each other more often.. Darlene
  4. Yes, Ellen, I also grew up there, as you know. Linda was such a sweet lady-she will be missed by many. Our prayers are with Howard and the family.
  5. I am getting ready to head back to Lisa's later today. I will post when I know something. I just still can't believe it. Travis was a wonderful young man-always smiling. And, also, pray for us that we can hold up and have the strength to help this family. They are absolutely devastated.
  6. Travis' mom is my best friend. All I can say at this point is that arrangements are still being discussed. Please, please keep the family in your prayers... And to a previous response, yes, he is Phil's son.
  7. She is a VERY sweet woman. Our dads were brothers. I did not realize that Michelle was Steve's daughter until my daddy was telling me...It is really gonna be a rough thanksgiving for them all..
  8. Hey, Mimi, I know Tyler is related to you by the Barber side-his grandmother Judy is my first cousin, and so is his step-grandother Donna. Yes, they will need all our prayers throughout the coming days..
  9. Ellen, I am so sorry for your loss. I still remember when I used to walk up by your house growing up to go to McTyre's-aka Quik Thrift-to get cokes and such all thru my childhood-and I used to see you-I always saw Mrs. Tinney either working around the house or in the yard and she always spoke to us kids. It is sad to me to ride down that street any more-so, so many are gone-including my papa and grandma-so, SG I know how you feel. I am happy that she is resting in a much better place now. You and your family are in our prayers.. Darlene
  10. Good morning, busymom! It was good to meet you Saturday. I am sorry we didnt have a chance to chat much-maybe we will get to at the next family reunion! Hope yall are doing okay-I am sure everyone is exhausted. Let us know if we can do anything..
  11. LOL. Ottis and I have known each other since the first grade. Guess I just told my age, huh?
  12. If you are referring to Ottis Bone that is around 47 years old-he is very much alive. I saw him about an hour ago...
  13. I tell you, I wasn't sure how things would go when my son was there in February. But everyone was WONDERFUL to us. I could not have asked for better care for him-especially when he wasnt the greatest post op patient in the world... I will let my mom know about the plaques. I will be glad to see a larger hospital be built-so it can grow with the county-and more and more can get their healthcare here than elswhere.. Have a great weekend and an exciting vacation!!!
  14. Hey there, Q. I am sorry I have not been able to get back with you. Have been EXTREMELY busy. If/when the new hospital is built, hopefully they will name med/surg after them--there are several avenues they could take. I remember when all the rooms on the 3rd floor could be sponsored in memory of/or donated by someone-i.e. the plaques on the door. (I was a kid then-- ) My aunt's picture used to be in the lobby as she was the first administrator. Wonder where it is now? Have a great weekend..
  15. Thanks, Q. I will let you know if any ideas. My mom was over PR when she worked at Paulding-I'll discuss it with her. It's amazing that someone endures on a job these days for 20 years-much less 46! She definitely needs to be honored.. Have a great weekend!
  16. I have been blessed with the honor of knowing Augustine Glass since I was around 9 years old. My mother went to work at the hospital at that time, and she worked with Tina, and they became fast friends. Two of my aunts and my grandmother also worked with her. When I was 18, I also went to work at Paulding for a few years, and then I had the pleasure of working with her, although not as closely as they did. My mother always used to say that Tina "came to the hospital with the bricks" since she started along with one of my aunts when the hospital was built. I recently was able to see T
