  1. I'm looking to rent a chipper for several hours. I have a lot of brush and a few 6" round tree trunks to chip. I'd be willing to pay by the hour or negotiate a rate. Thanks in advance! PM me if you need more details. I'm off Scoggins in Dallas and have a hitch on my truck.

  2. Yes, there was a home invasion in Somersby. I do not have official info from the SO but I did talk to someone who lives one street up, in the subdivision. From what I was told

the people were caught before they could leave the home. I don't believe this was the first time that one house had been hit, I may be mistaken and thinking of another home but I don't think so. The house on the corner of Gregory court and Hwy 61 was also hit last week. The homeowners were home at the time and frightened away the thieves. It was evident that they broke in through a certain door. The SO came out told them it probably was a meth addict looking for money and took a report. Apparently, to the homeowners amazement, that's all they do. I was under the impression that in instances like this they would at least fingerprint something to reference the break in should it occur again. They were just advised to purchase a dead bolt and keep it locked.

I had heard the house at the end of Hart Rd was hit about a month ago but would like to know more about that....was it a domestic thing rather than a random break in? I live near all of these homes and the Dollar General that has been hit 4 times. This is very frightening and seems to be getting out of hand for this area.

I live right near somersby and there have been several home invasions. We were the victims of a robbery 3 yrs ago, everything was taken. No fingerprints taken. None. All the invasions have happened during the day as well. This all makes me so nervous and the DH has been trying to convince me we need to purchase a gun ever since. After all the robberies in the neighborhood, some of which people were home, I'm thinking it's not a bad idea.

  3. Ok, I may be seeing things, or just never noticed it before? Near Bandido's there was a new looking place painted green with new hardwood floors. Anyone have the scoop? What is it? It's almost next door to the pcom office so I thought someone must know something! I'd love to see a new restaurant, good upscale bar, or a great store. I love NEW! Anyone know?

  4. This is not a complaint by any means. I am truly just trying to collect some information regarding the downtown dallas area. Why are there so few businesses in the actual town and it looks as though there is retail space available. I have searched this website and others, but am unable to find any details. I am in the VERY early stages of opening a commercial business in the next few years and am looking for a quaint location, with high foot traffic. The addition of the kennesaw campus will certainly increase the number of patrons to the area. But does anyone have any info that may be of help to me? I have not yet gone and spoken to shop owners who are there now, like I said, I am in the very early planning stages. But I am curious on anyone's thoughts. Also what would you like to see go in if you could have ANYTHING be a part of downtown? Just for fun!

  5. You know Eddie.....I love that you have a big heart and care about the public as a whole. Kind and compassionate, you are.

But at what point does personal responsibility and accountability come in to play? At what point do you look at grown ass adults who've made irresponsible decisions all of their lives and say" Enough."?

We have existing systems in place to help.

    Help being the operative word.

There's help available from the time you enroll in preschool. Lottery funded programs to help get kids off to a better start so they're prepared for kindergarten. Once you enroll in elementary school, you've got free or reduced lunches, for those children who's parents have made irresponsible decisions before them. Highschool brings not only a work release program so you can continue working on your education while working a part time job. Start a saving account then. Buy your first car, and pay for your automobile insurance. Make good grades, and you can go to any GA college for virtually no money out of pocket. Apply for pell grants to make up the difference. Keep your part time job so that you've got money to eat and kick in on the rent with the three other folk you room with. Buckle down and graduate college. That degree is your ticket to an entry level position with a reputable company that had room for advancement. Make a good impression at your first interview. Get to work on time and work hard to complete your daily workload.

Avoid the lure of high interest credit cards, make smart decisions with what to do with your paycheck. Continue to build your savings account. Find a house that you can afford, make a sizeable down payment, and make your monthly payments on time every time.

What the hell is everyone else teaching their children to do?

I love it! Thank you for posting this response!

  6. I know how frustrating it all can be. I actually work at a retailer in Smyrna that was broken into today. Our home was broken into a few years ago. I'm still so angry, you feel so violated. Who can do something like this? Unfortunately, too many people.

  7. I couldn't agree with your frustration more. When I first moved here several yrs ago I was shocked to find that recycling was so difficult. I wish we could set up something where we took turns taking it or something.
